I am/was a resident of this facility

From a patient's point, this is the worst facility you could ever pick for any kind of assistance. They don't like anybody that can think for themselves as THEY think they know what is best for others.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Facility is filthy. Soiled clothes lay on the floors. Beds are not changed often enough. My relative was there for 2months before getting a bath. I washed her feet and the crud between her toes was horrid. She never got changed so had UTI's all the time. One night she lost control of her bowels. She rang the bell for 2 hours and yelled for help. An aid came in and told her that her aid went home for lunch and no one could help her, she would have to wait. So she laid in feces for about 3 hours. The buzzers ring 24 hours a day and the staff ignores them. Residents never get water. While walking down the hallway, several residents asked me to get them water. I approached this situation at every quarterly meeting, to no avail. My mother only got water when I was there to get it for her. We have found bugs in her food. The food is horrible. Sometimes it consisted of a single slice of baloney without any condiments, just dry bread...and that was her dinner. I provided most of her food. I also did all her laundry and provided the hangers. The staff always took her hangers, as they were the expensive type. Her clothes and personal items have been stolen. I had to call an ambulance for her twice as the staff ignores sick people. My mother had a UTI for a month without being treated. The next time it was UTI, both kidneys infected and active congestive heart failure. There are no phones for residents to call family. No one answers the phones at the facility. They shut the ringers off on the 3rd floor, so u cannot reach anyone. Once you complain, the staff stops talking to you. No one has ever returned my calls, including the director, nurse director, appointment scheduler(she actually hung up on me saying I was yelling), nurses, activity director. Most of the staff is vendered in from temp agencies. They are rude. One told me to help lift my mother stating "she's YOUR mother"! I told her if I could lift her she wouldn't need to be in a nursing home! Plus I have a bad back and told her that. Other roll their eyes and sigh if u ask them to do anything. Most of them won't even achknowledge you're speaking to them. That includes the nurses that work nights and weekends. They put food on the tray, but won't wake anyone up to eat. They take the food away and mark the chart as refused!! The staff has told my mother has bed bugs. This all has been reported to NYS Health Dept. This facility need to be condemned and closed down until someone fixes the problems!!! Don't put your loved ones there...ever!!!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was a resident of Absolut Center for Nursing & Rehab. It was not good at all. The facility had an odor, and it was dirty behind the furniture and stuff. It's rundown, and there was not enough care and not enough staff. At first, we had a bad experience because my father had just been admitted there, and he couldn't get anyone to help him use a restroom. He waited for a long time, I can't remember, maybe it was 30 minutes, and he ended up having an accident. He ended up getting out of bed and taking his sheets off, going to the restroom himself, and cleaning himself off before somebody finally came. After that, my mom complained and then they got better. They're understaffed. The food was average; it's hospital food.

My father is in here due to Dementia. During this COVID the staff have not been helpful with response & helpful. Trying to get in touch with a nurse to know what is happening with my dad is near impossible I have called the administrator who is worthless along with corporate. I pay directly and still can’t get anything, nor can I move him due to COVID. Keeping families away from loved ones will be more detrimental to our elderly than this virus ever will be. Letting our elderly stay all alone is sad!!!

Residents are left on the bed pan for over 2 hours. Staff are very rude and treat you horribly every day.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My parents are in the facility and I deeply regret my decision to place them there. There have been papers on the floor for weeks, so clearly the cleaning staff doesn't do much. Also there is often a smell of urine in the facility. I found a pill laying on my mom's night stand and reported it, but it was still there on my next visit. Their heating system is poor at best. During the day the hallway provides sufficient room heat, but at night with the door closed there are issues. My parents can either choose to leave the heat on, and it heats up to the high 80's, or they have to get up on and off throughout the night to keep turning the heat on and off. I've tried to have them fix this at the home, but after weeks of frustrating conversations with the director nothing has changed. They obviously think that it's okay for the elderly to have to keep getting out of bed to turn the heat on and off. This place is all about profits. They do have some good staff, but the place is so poorly managed that it's just unacceptable. Save yourselves the heartache and look elsewhere for nursing home care. Look at the reports from their state inspections as they tell the whole story.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother is currently staying in Absolut Care (Absolut Center For Nursing & Rehab Endicott LLC). The community is very good. My mother says that the food is great. I sample some of them, and I think it is very good also. They have activities like games, cards, and physical therapy, and they take the people out to interact with other residents. There is quite a selection of things to do there. They can improve on maybe some more people to respond when you push your button, They have trouble getting there because there is not enough people on staff.

My mother spent one night at this facility. I found it to be more of a prison then a nursing home. The staff was uncaring and treated my mother like a envaled. She was put in a room with a women that did nothing but give my mom dirty looks and keep the room like a pig. I would NOT let my worse enemy live here much less a love one.
