The place that we toured is very good. If my mom were going to go anywhere, that's where we would go. The place we toured is Elderwood Assisted Living at Cheektowaga. It's very, very nice. The rooms are adequate. It was very clean. The staff members that assisted us were great. We only had one that showed us around, and we got to meet several people on our way when we toured the facility. Everybody was friendly and courteous. It looked like everybody was doing whatever job they were supposed to be doing. The dining area was clean with plenty of tables for everybody. It looked like everybody was socially distanced. So, all the COVID protocols were in place, and we were very happy about that. We actually have previous experience there with my mom's mom 25 years ago, so that's one of the reasons why we went there. We found that their standard now is very similar to their standard 25 years ago, so it's very high.

I am in an assisted living called Elderwood Assisted Living at Cheektowaga. Right now, we have COVID here and things have gone crazy. They have two floors, and we are separated from the ones who have it. They also halted their activities because of it. I'm in a shared room and there is a bathroom that we also share. We have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You have to make your own bed. You just have to tell them if it's dirty or if you've wet on it. I would have thought this is assisted living but they don't assist you and you have to do everything yourself. Considering that it's supposed to be assisted living, we don't get much assistance here. Some of the staff have been very helpful, but some don't understand what your situation is. I think they should also get a dietician here for people with special needs. I've heard some people say they can't have this or they can't have that, but they don't seem to help them with that.

I went to see Elderwood Assisted Living. They had a very nice facility. When you first came in, there was a sitting area there with very nice music that elderly people would like. It was beautifully decorated. I liked that they had a variety of activities for the residents. They did not have the apartment set up like the other facility. Instead, they had just a room with a disability-accessible bathroom. It was still very nice, it just wasn't the same apartment setup we saw elsewhere. The staff was very friendly and very helpful in answering all of our questions. I was there with my dad. Nothing stood out that I did not like. It was just a different type of setup.

Elderwood Assisted Living at Cheektowaga wasn't as new as the other place I toured, but they were putting in some new flooring and apartments as needed. They were updating some of the flooring in the building. The hallways weren't quite as wide. It wasn't new, but it was well-kept. They had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They had bingo, music nights, and exercise classes. They had like a banquet room if you want to have some of your family over. It was pretty good. The staff seemed pretty good. I watched some of them interacting with the residents, and I talked to the manager. At dinnertime, their menu has a little more picks than what's offered at the other facility.

Elderwood Assisted Living at Cheektowaga wasn't as modern, up-to-date, and as clean. The feeling for us going in there just didn't feel right for the situation my mother is going to be in, but the staff was very polite and the dining room looked sufficient.

My mom has moved into Elderwood Assisted Living at Cheektowaga. It has been wonderful. It is everything we thought it was going to be. They have done a marvelous job. I can't say enough about them. As far as I know and as far as I could tell from my mom, the amenities are all really good. She is adjusting as well as can be expected for somebody that you put in assisted living, but she is doing well. They have everything she wants and more. Her accommodations are great. She is in a one-bedroom suite, and it is perfect. The staff has got to be the high point. They're great people. They really are. They will do anything for her, and they have been really accommodating. I have no complaints at all. The facilities are perfect. It is one of the reasons I chose it. It is right in the wooded area on a river. It is really pretty. It offers lots of opportunity for them to walk around the grounds. There are paved paths too. It is actually pretty good. They have lots of activities. There is stuff going on every day. It is not cheap, but the value is there.

We recently moved our Mother in to the Elderwood Cheektowaga Assisted Living facility. The interactions withe staff have been exceptional from our initial site visit through having Mom at the facility. The staff exudes a high level of commitment, compassion and professionalism in all aspects of their responsibilities. We have been impressed with the overall focus to making Mom feel welcome at the facility and the extra focus to orient her to the new surroundings. We are extremely happy that we chose the Elderwood Cheektowaga facility for our Mom.

This past week my wife and I visited several Elderwood facilities in the Buffalo area. The purpose of our visits was to locate an Assisted Living Facility for my mother. Mave M. was our contact at the Cheektowaga facility. I wanted to let you know that our interactions with Mave were exceptional. She embodies the mission and core values of your company. She was very patient in answering our questions and exuded a high degree of professionalism during our entire visit at the site. Integrity and ethics were important aspects of my career so it was uplifting to experience these values at the location where my mother may be living someday. Too often, the really good employees at a facility are not recognized for the all the good they bring to the organization. I just wanted you to know how impressed we were with Mave during our visit.

I really like this facility and think it is the perfect place for my grandfather to be living. Everytime I go there the staff is always so friendly and helpful towards. He has nothing to say but great things about the facility as well. He has never been happier. While living there everything that he used to have to worry about at home is now being taken care of for him. He gets his meals, housekeeping, maintenance work done, and when the snow falls the walk ways are plowed right away. I would strongly recommend this facility to anyone who has an elderly parent or grandparent that still wants to retain some of their independence but may need a little help from time to time.

I was very impressed with the quality of this assisted living facility. My grandmother said she liked it there as well. They gave out snacks for her to enjoy while we were there. They also had a game room where she could go to hang out with other people living there. Each room had a television with full cable, which was more than my grandmother could ask for, she was used to just having the rabbit ears. They also had a shuttle service that would take people to doctor's appointments or grocery stores if needed. The nurses were very friendly as well. They would frequently check up on my grandmother but left us alone for the most part while we were visiting. The nurses actually got to know their patients; they would talk to them and play games with them. I also liked that there were aids that came around to clean. This happened often which really helped to make the entire facility clean and look nice.

Overall, the facility was excellent. My grandfather seemed very comfortable there. Unfortunately, he did not remember us nor did he remember any of the nurses' names on a daily basis. But, they always took good care of him. Because of his age and his condition, he did not take advantage of many of the amenities, but they had many. They offered activities daily for all of the residents, which kept most of them very busy every day. The activities were wide-ranging. They included outdoor activites, bingo every few hours, and different events and receptions for each of the holidays throughout the year. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The medical equipment all appeared to be up to date and appeared to be state of the art. The outside grounds, which were frequented by my grandfather and my family, were beautifully kept. The gardens were always nice and the grass always cut. Overall, under the circumstances, we were very pleased with everything at this residence.
