My mom did well at Home Sweet Home on the Hudson. They allowed outside help to come in. It was a nice place, and they were willing to work with us regarding her care. They did bathing and dressing up, but they didn't have help for eating, so we had to get outside assistance. They did whatever they could to help Mom. All residents had private rooms with a bathroom. They had activities every day and nice meals. They had a very beautiful view from the lobby, so everybody enjoyed being there.

What I like the best about Home Sweet Home on the Hudson is that they have a separate room and a small bathroom for each patient. I thought that was a good feature. It was a quick tour. The staff showed me quickly the dining area, the sitting area, the meeting area, the medical room, and the shop where they all meet and do things. I went outside to their deck that overviews the Hudson River which I thought was nice. In terms of cleanliness, I thought it was clean. The staff who toured me was polite and nice. She showed me and explained everything. She gave me an application, she explained the fees and she went through the thing a little bit as best as she could, so that was helpful. The exterior of the building needs attention, but the inside looks clean.

Home Sweet Home on the Hudson was nice. It's a beautiful location. It's right on the Hudson River. So, it's got a nice view. The rooms were kind of small, but it was clean and there would be room for a chair and some of my aunt's personal stuff. They also have cable TV, which they provide for an extra fee. The staff was very nice. The lady I dealt with, Amy, was very nice, as well as Peggy. They were very helpful, gave us information, and they've reached out to us a couple of times to see how we're doing. They have a nice dining room, too. They have activities like outings, a arts and crafts room, and a place where they can say mass. It's very nice. It's an older building, but it was maintained.

We found Home Sweet Home on the Hudson for my mom. We chose it because it had a beautiful setting, was well recommended, and fit the budget. It has been wonderful. It doesn't smell at all like an assisted living or nursing home. The staff members have been wonderful and friendly. Because my mom has several anxiety issues, they have worked very well with me to help get her additional care. They have a doctor who comes on-site for routine care, which is nice. She can see a doctor without having to leave the community. My mom doesn't like the food so much, but it smells very good. She loves the activities. They have all sorts of neat things, like bingo, games, and scavenger hunts. They also provide housekeeping and laundry, arrange for transportation to medical appointments that they will accompany her to, and serve three meals a day. They offer memory care in a different wing should they need it. One of things I think that would be good is that if they had more activities on Sunday because she does tend to get a bit depressed on Sunday because there isn't as much to do.
