My husband was in the hospital, and then they placed him in the Ontario Center. Their rehab program is great, but the general facility is lacking in staff, like everybody else. So, he can't get a staff member to help him when he needs them. Apparently, they've had all kinds of different types of residents and they're in semi-private rooms, and so he's been moved three times now because of roommate problems. The food is fine. It's a very nice place, and I guess we're still getting what we paid for.

My Mother-in-law was sent here for rehab on 5/20/21 following a stay at Thompson. She was initially able to participate in therapy and talk on the phone. She continued to deteriorate without any notification or new plan from the staff. Visitation is limited to two 30 minute visits per month (at over 6' apart) so it was very difficult for us to evaluate her. We did ask her to be checked for a UTI last week and after a few days they did get her on an oral antibiotic. After seeing just how bad she was following a visit the Saturday, we had her sent to the ED. I expect they will find a raging infection and dehydration.

Would never allow another family member to be placed here! My mother was placed here for short term rehab. While physical therapy did a good job getting her back on her feet, this facility is significantly understaffed, therefore patients receive inadequate physical care. Cleanliness is sadly lacking. By the time food gets to patients, it is cold. Phone calls with concerns go unanswered. COVID swept through the place when she was set to go home and she tested positive and was quarantined with another patient for two more miserable weeks. Only another medical emergency with her heart got her out of there so that we could safely get her home.

I was not pleased with the rehabilitation that I received while at Ontario County Health. The therapists are all from overseas and lazy.

My grandmother has been a resident for a little over 2 years. She has received great care. The staff is for the most part friendly and willing to help her however they can. We feel better knowing she's there with constant care. A few of the nurses and one of the housekeepers have gone above and beyond to make sure she's well cared for. One of my favorite things about the OCHF, is the "extra-curricular" activities they have. My grandmother can play bingo, go to musical events, watch movies, attend a church type ceremony and do ceramics. I love how they try to keep the residents busy and happy. They also make sure they notify me or another family member when she's having an off day. As someone who is bio-polar and suffering from dementia, she is prone to hallucinations and paranoia. The staff does a great job keeping her calm.

When it was time to find a place for my 93 year old Nana, we were very skeptical of nursing homes in general. I am very glad to say that the Ontario County Health facility is fantastic. They offer a wide range of activities for their residents including bingo, worship services, ice cream socials, concerts, and much much more. They have a therapy rabbit named "Romeo" who visits often and the staff is for the most part very friendly. They have a wide range of residents with varying degrees of health issues. Each year they have special summer celebrations and they allow the families to come and "trick or treat" at Halloween time. They have wonderful Christmas celebrations and the food they prepare for the special events is quite good now that they have a new cooking staff. The only negative I really have is the high rate of turn-over with the staff. It's very hard for the residents to have a sense of stability when the staff keeps changing.
