Each housed individual was given a room to stay in - some singles, mostly doubles. There were several areas where residents could relax and watch television. What the residents seemed most enthused about, though, was the church that was housed in the building. The chapel was gorgeous and the mass was enthusiastic. Any time somebody needed help or simply needed to use the restroom (as many of the residents were handicapped), there would nearly immediately appear somebody to assist them. Most of the residents spoke only Spanish, and though the native language of most of the staff was English, most seemed to know their way around the former language. Around noon, the residents were fed - though I only got to try the dessert, it was absolutely delicious. The concerns, hobbies, interests, and general thoughts were taken with utmost importance by the staff. All were tended to and nobody was left unsatisfied.

I have been familiar with this nursing facility ever since I was in high school. My church youth group had volunteered there on a monthly basis. I have always loved the facility, staff, and patients. The facility is very well kept, clean, and is maintainted in the highest order and safety protocols. The staff have always been helpful towards family members and visitors. They are always very caring and nurturing towards the patients and their families, which is something I truly appreciate. The patients there are sometimes lonely, especially if they do not receive many visitors. I think Little Sisters of the Poor does all they can for the elderly who are living in the home and the many families that have come and gone.
