My wife was at Genesis Healthcare Uptown. It was a good place. They took care of you. They have a group that they let be a singing group on Saturday morning at 10:00. They sing country religious-type songs, and they are very good. They even had one guy that was a guitar player for certain stuff. Their food was pretty good, too. My wife was in a room for two people. They kept it clean. The staff was good. They treated people well. My wife sent cards to three of the women (maybe more than that) when she left there just because she liked the way they treated her. I liked them, too. For activities, they played games there. They would get the group together to play games. It was probably bingo and my wife won in one of them. With regard to value for money, they ended up charging us some money, but they paid for most of the three weeks. It was good.

Housekeeping doesn’t clean very well or they over use bleach to the point your eyes burn when you are in the room that’s very bad for bedbound people. Roomates are rude you see other people that live there going around looking like they are on something a tall black lady is always asking people for money or ask if you will go buy her something. Managers never call back and they don’t seem to care about anything but themselves, one example the DON, Unit manager and Administrator knew my family didn’t get lunch, breakfast came at 11:30am I was there from 9am-12:30 visiting. The nurses called them, the social worker called and the CNAS called and nothing happen and they were in the building in a room in front offices having a party!!!!!!!!! I ordered food for my person. I was told they didn’t eat again until after 6:30pm which was dinner. State was called.

Food portions are awful food presentation is horrific and the food taste is like someone learning to cook but don’t have it down it’s not digestible at all and several times has caused sickness. Toilets always back up never fixed right away that’s a hazard alone, rooms are freezing cold no heat and it’s freaking snowing and raining outside. The CNA’s are over ran and under appreciated by managers and always understaffed especially on weekends when managers don’t care because they refuse to come in to help and if they do come in they sit and hide in a office, the CNAS are caring and loving to the people who live there they care and support the people more then anyone in the facilities the CNAS are the real hero’s.Now I have been there week day and nights as well as weekend days and nights and the best staff is weekend day staff on the long term side. The nurses are fake and really can care less about anything, they place blame on everyone but themself one particular RN is the one who works Thursday to Saturday. If you visit in the evening there the parking lot is very dark when walking to or from your vehicle not very safe at all especially with security non existent. I have seen random homeless people walk into the facility freely and go unnoticed for awhile before being kicked out that is not safe they should have a security guard to protect our family and their staff. Staff 3 stars represent the CNAs only no other staff. And 1 start for activities because they are pretty much nonexistent when they advertise daily activities.

If you expect to be able to speak to or speak to or discuss anything with the management you will be disappointed they do not reply back or respond to emails or phone calls. When you call they / she is always “in a meeting”

Wonderful facility, very clean, nicely updated on both the interior and exterior! Tiffany helped place my family member, arranged a private, very updated and modern room and did an excellent job. At times my family member can be somewhat demanding and want immediate attention but the nursing staff were patient and made sure all of our needs were met. My only suggestion would be to increase the security factor at the front door. Again, my greatest compliments to Tiffany and the staff at St. Theresa's!

The staff of St Theresa Healthcare And Rehabilitation seemed really good at that one visit we had. I didn’t get to see a lot though. They were having lunch at that time. They seemed to be attending to the residents pretty well. The facility seemed clean. It seemed like an OK facility, but it is bigger than what we were looking for. It was nice and bright. It seemed like people were busy with activities and doing things. There was a lot of staff I noticed around so that was a good thing. The room seemed small and that was one of our concerns. They were pretty crowded and they didn’t have a lot of storage place. The dining room seemed to be a pretty good size and it was pleasant to be in. It was well-lit. They have a nice patio area too.

My mom has been there for five years and they have treated her very good. It is not easy to take care of so many elderly people and I give them credit. They are always friendly and joking with her. They call me very time there is a problem, good or bad. I have seen them go the extra steps in taking car of her.

Day one, horrible. Staff is complacent, disconnected. Not where I feel safe having my family, but stuck because they need additional coverage.

Generally, i don't write reviews as I'm a skeptic by nature. At this moment I feel compelled to write a review to make sure that anyone considering this facility, will do so with eyes wide open. This is a Medicaid facility and as such I wasn't expecting much, but it was worse than expected. My 93 year old grandmother has been there for 13 days. In that time, her condition has gotten worse due to neglect. She currently has a Urinary Tract Infection because the adult diapers are not changed throughout the day, although we were assured they are changed hourly. The infection was suspected on Monday and although we were told Thursday that they had started antibiotics, on Friday were told (by someone else) that antibiotics would begin today. On Thursday they discovered a bump on her head. This was due to the fall which was the reason she ended up in the hospital 3 weeks prior. If they've just discovered the bump on her head, does this mean that they have not washed her hari in the 13 days she's been there. We've been told that they have. Coversations at the nursing stations are that of frustrated employees at the end of their rope with no reason to do a good job. In desperation we will bring my grandmother home as soon as they have the paperwork ready (48 hours we're told). Not because she no longer needs treatment, but because she is deteriorating very quickly under their care. I realize that our medical services (especially for Medicaid) are terrible, but the attitude toward the elderly and lack of communication is much worse than I thought it would be.
