My father has lived here for two years. From day one, he was thriving (he moved to Atria after his wife of 61 years died, and it could have been a difficult transition but Atria staff made him feel at home immediately). My dad loves the activities—there is a great variety and the staff is creative. Everything else is taken care of too, from nursing staff giving meds to meals and cleaning of his apartment.

I came to visit my Aunt who’s been living at Atria for a few years now. The staff are wonderful, caring and friendly. The renovations that have been done makes Atria look like a 5-Star resort. I’m happy my Aunt is apart of the Atria family.

The rooms are much better than I could have imagined. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I felt like I was asking so many questions that I may be bothering them. But they were so amazing and never made me feel uncomfortable. I have been there for several days moving my brother in and everybody has been extremely friendly, including the residents. The premises is well kept and clean inside and out. There are people there to me every need with a smile. We are so lucky to have found this place and very grateful.

My mother had five wonderful years in Memory Care at the Atria Tinton Falls, with kind, caring, attentive people who took great care of her. When my dad decided it was time to move to Assisted-Living, he did not hesitate to choose the Atria. The staff is excellent, attentive, compassionate, and always helpful. They go above and beyond to make sure he is safe, active and happy. Everyone helped to make a smooth transition for my dad and have addressed all of our concerns in a timely manner. We have found that the communication to our family is excellent, activities are well organized and the atmosphere is welcoming. The rooms are bright and comfortable and the facility itself is newly redone and lovely. It is comforting for our family to know that Dad is in a such a supportive place.

It was a very difficult and emotional decision to place my husband in an assisted living facility. When I first began my search I would just ride by and look at each facility. When I got the courage to make an appointment and actually go inside I had a lump in my throat and could hardly ask a question. After my second visit I knew I was doing the right and best thing for him. The management and staff were so kind and beyond helpful! Anything we needed was addressed and taken care of. My husband has not been very social but so many times I wanted to take part in the events myself! I know he’s safe and well taken care of when I’m not there. I do go every day but feel that I can take some time off for myself and he’s in kind hands. I’m so thankful that I found Atria with its wonderful staff and would recommend it highly. Thank you for reading this.

The rooms are good. It’s like a New York City apartment, no wasted space but roomy enough. Activities are great. Varied and plentiful if you’re willing to participate. Food is above average for this type of facility Staff is wonderful, always smiling, friendly, competent and always willing to help.

The room is clean. The garbage is picked up every day, and the towels are cleaned every day. But I have to say your activities staff...., Al Montalvo..., is great. My mom passed away recently, and he always goes into my dad's room to check on him, and when my dad's in a funk and won't do anything, Al won't take no for an answer. He makes sure that my dad gets out of his room, and that my dad even dances. My dad always nice wonderful things to say about Al, and says that he couldn't live w/out Al. Al enjoys his job, and maybe that's why my dad loves his interactions with Al so much. He is absolutely the best!

Our aunt has been a resident of Atria Tinton Falls for almost 4 years. There are activities here that help to keep her physically and mentally fit. She looks forward to her dance and movement class that keeps a smile on her face and a bounce in her step. The class is led by a very special person who is a talented dancer and a very charismatic fellow named Al Montalvo who brings the best out of the many residents that participate in this class. We appreciates how hard he tries to help my aunt and other Residents to have a good time and to stay active and happy. Thanks to Atria for realizing how important it is to not only have activities, but to have a person like Al who enjoys his job, and shares his passion for dance with the members of the community who share his love for dance and music. Atria has been my home for almost seven years. I call it my home because the folks who take of me are so caring and kind. We have such a wonderful medical department here that I feel vey safe. Our activity director is second to none. She keeps us business and entertained. I love it here.

This location is currently undergoing a remodel of all the common areas. The color scheme they have chosen are very nice and calming. I had a one-bedroom unit on the 3rd floor, with a nice layout and great natural light. The staff is a caring group, and they try their best to keep people engaged. The activity director is always bringing new ideas to use our minds, and give us way to be creative and enjoy social events.

I am more than happy to write this review. My mother, Elsa, has been a resident at Atria for the last six months. During that time, she has made so many friends. The activities Director, Nicki, and her co-worker, Al, do an absolutely tremendous job keeping the residents busy morning to night. This week alone there was a Valentine’s party, a Mardi Gras party, a Super Bowl party and a belly dancer, in addition to daily Bingo, arts and crafts, card games, exercise classes and lectures on various and engaging topics. From my observations, I truly believe the staff at Atria creates an environment where life is celebrated every day. The executive director, Diane, and her staff have far exceeded what I had ever imagined a senior living facility to be. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Lori F.

Our tour at Atria Tinton Falls was very thorough and very good. We saw a few different apartments, like a 1-bedroom and a couple of studios. There was a movie theater, an arts and crafts room, and a dining room. The staff who assisted us introduced us to some residents there. She was great, and she has been with the company for a long time. The place was very nice, clean, and well-maintained.

My 80 year old mother has been in Atria in Tinton Falls Assisted Living for almost 6 months. The day to day staff is friendly, helpful and pleasant. Food is fine and no complaints about cleanliness. I can’t say she is thriving there, as the staff needs to make a stronger effort to get people out of their rooms and more involved social activities. The bigger problems arise within in-house administration. The people who sold us on this location were dishonest. They represented the Atria experience like well honed real estate professionals. We believed in them. I met the Nurse Manager upon arrival. Enthusiastically nice, yet never saw him again. He never responds to emails or phone calls. No one in administration answers phone messages or emails. My mom enjoys a glass of wine each day before dinner. We were told they had a Happy Hour everyday, providing clients there a feeling “home”. Upon moving my mom in, we find out happy hour is once a week, no wine, but sweet drinks with cute names that have minimal alcohol. But this is a minor problem for us. As I previously stated, my mom has been there less than six months. She was paying extra for a number of hours each week for one-on-one nursing service. It wasnt being done so we cancelled it. It was a considerable amount of money. But here is the issue that she, myself and my two siblings have. Atria of Tinton Falls has increased the fee for their services by 14% as of January 1, 2023. This is higher than the cost of living. My mom has been there for less than six months. I know Atria is a large company, with 390 senior living communities in 45 states. It is quite obvious that Atria facilities are located in mostly “rich”, for lack of a better term, locations. My mom doesn’t doesn’t fall under the “rich” category that Atria specializes in. We, her children, are trying to make her end of life years as comfortable as possible, using our limited income supply to make that happen. Atria is taking advantage of their clients, and increasing rates beyond what is acceptable within the real world. I’m not convinced that such an increase is legally allowed. Please help us rectify this issue. I will also be contacting my mother’s Congressman, the Health department of our county and state, Monmouth County Division of Aging, Disabilities & Veterans Services, New Jersey Division of Aging Services, as well as NJ Long-Term Care Ombudsman (NJLTCO) which specializes in financial exploitation of the elderly.

My dad was at Atria Tinton Falls for three weeks. We thought it would be a good thing, but it wasn't for him, and he just kept saying, 'Get me out of here.' For the money, I didn't think there was enough attention. It's a nice place, but it just wasn't for my dad. The activities they had were listed in the main room, but they were teeny weeny like I would need a magnifying glass to see them, so how is an old person supposed to see them? And there was no orientation in the beginning. Like the activities director didn't come over and introduce herself and bring him around. It wasn't set up so he knew what to do. Also, he needed help in and out of the wheelchair, and they had this button that you put on your wrist and you press it, and they say it won't take longer than 10 minutes, but it does take longer than 10 minutes. I understand they're understaffed and everything, but when my dad's got to go to the bathroom, he's got to go to the bathroom. So there's a long wait for that. I thought the activities director would come and say, 'Hey, we're doing this now. You want to join us?' when they're new and they don't know how to do anything, but that didn't happen. I think the kitchen was understaffed. My dad said they were never around when he needed something. He said the food was just average, and he could never get a hold of a waitress to get ketchup or something like that. The facility is nice. They have nice surroundings. It's clean. The only activity I know of is bingo and the movie theater. When they want your money, they're very attentive. But as soon as they got your money, you can't get a hold of them, they won't call you back for days, and they won't email you. Communication needs improvement.

I have a family member living there & there is no activities besides Bingo. If you can't get up & go by yourself then you're stuck looking at the walls. I complained to management about a nurse pulling up a residents shirt & giving insulin shots in the dining room and she still has a job. She's very rude to residents & other staff. I've witnessed her inturupt someone giving meds to screach at the top of her lungs about needing a day off! Most of the staff will walk right by a resident asking for help. There are a few nice staff members that seem to care but I'm guessing they will burn out & be out the door soon. The building is dated Apts small They mix in Psych patients with the elderly residents! For meals there is assigned seating & the kitchen staff is always on their phone usually doesn't get the order right & argues with the residents about every detail. I think the staff forget residents pay to be there. Managers are on a revolving door it seems. If you have an issue they all pass the buck.

Atria Senior Living was small and close-knit, which was nice for assisted living. I liked it. The living spaces were small. They have lots of activities, a very nice dining room, lovely staff, and very nice grounds. They have very nice places where you could walk around. I would give it a positive review. It was just, apartment-wise or square footage-wise, it was just a little bit too small for our liking. They have a lot of staff. Again, I thought their caregiver to resident ratio was very good. The director was very, very engaged. A lot of on-site services, lovely amenities in terms of activity rooms, things to do, and people there were out and about, and they were social. It was a very lively place. They had game rooms. They had a movie room, they had a very nice patio where people could go out and sit. They had a lot of engaging stuff, like arts and crafts. The food was better than average from what I saw on the menu.

We took my parents to see Atria Tinton Falls. It was very clean and very inviting. The food was wonderful. The people were very nice and professional. Nothing negative to report. It was very, very nice. The room was bright and airy and had a nice view. Typically, the rooms were very small, but there were choices of the layout. They publish their agenda for the week and the month and they talked about arts and crafts and games like mahjong and wordle. They seemed to have a lot going on. The person who accommodated me was wonderful. It's a beautiful place.

The rooms were very nice and especially liked the full size refrigerator. The staff was very engaged to their residents and they all seem to like it very much there. They were busy doing games, watching movies in the theater and arts and crafts. The staff was helpful and very attentive while we were visiting. I highly recommend Atria.

My mother-in-law will probably be moving into Atria Tinton Falls by the end of the week. They were very accommodating. They seem to cover all of the bases, and they come to evaluate patients. My mother-in-law is in rehab. They had somebody come to meet with her yesterday morning. And so they over accommodated me. They didn't have a room available until the 9th, but they're going to put her in a respite room until the room is available. They just bent over backward to try to make this work for us. And I appreciate them. I think they were great. I do. It's an A-plus community, and it's five minutes from my home. Their menu was extensive. There seemed to be always something that everybody would eat and a lot of the alternates if you weren't interested in that.

Atria Tinton Falls is one of the places I visited. The staff showed me a room in the assisted living and then we went up to see the memory care as well. It looked like a grand hotel when you walked in. The facility was gorgeous and very spacious. They had like a little kitchen area right in the front where people could get coffee or fruit and snacks or whatever. It's like a community living area when you walk in. I guess it's for people that are waiting to meet their family or to go out on a bus or something. They had lovely grounds and all that. This one probably would have been second on my list. Everybody was more than accommodating. They gave me a little treat, a fresh-baked little pastry and that was nice. They also offered some coffee or water.

Atria Tinton Falls was fabulous. They happened to be having an employee party that day. The facility was great. The people were interactive and wonderful. We just changed the location of where we wanted to bring mom, and that was a deciding factor. The staff during the tour was wonderful. They were having an employee appreciation party that day. They had an ice cream truck there, there was a dunk tank, they were having a barbecue, they had music, and a DJ. They invited my sister and me to participate. They did a thorough tour, spent time with us privately, showing us the special event that happens to be going on that day. She's very accommodating and answered all the questions. They had different room layouts. They offered us food. it wasn't a regular meal, but it was part of the party, and it was very good. The facility was gorgeous.

I visited the facility over the holiday weekend and found it to be clean - presented very well. I was happy to see that residents were engaged in holiday themed activities and seemed to have a lot of fun doing so. The sales person was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She showed us the entire community - specifically the assisted living side as that was the one we were interested in for my parents. Apartments were specious and well appointed - I was pleased with the cleanliness of the community and functionality of common spaces. We looked at the menu and it seemed the food was good. I was also interested in activities for my parents and after looking at the activity schedule, I was confident my parents would have plenty of things to do. I was happy with the tour and I am considering this community for my parents. I also recommend others to see Atria Tinton Falls while they are looking for Assisted Living or Memory Care for their loved ones.

We have been in Atria Tinton Falls for over a year now. I'm satisfied with the staff. They're very nice cleaning the place. We are satisfied so far. The food is edible. It's a very clean place. I have no problems with the staff. It's very nice. The facilities are good.

Atria Tinton Falls is where my mother is now. We like it the best. She is happy as can be. Because of COVID, we weren't able to go into these places, but we made an educated decision, and Atria was our choice. There are not as many as there would normally be, but they have activities. I sign up for visits where we sit outside. We're six feet apart and we always have our masks on. Everyone is lovely to my mother and to us. We are happy so far. Everything has been great so far. Most of her sadness is from not being able to sit with us and not being able to visit her room and spend the day with her. It doesn't have anything to do with the community, but she is always happy when I visit her. Everybody treats her great. I have no complaints, and the business person goes way above what is expected of her. My mother has a few complaints with the food, but it is just a taste bud difference because she normally loves everything. Everything is beautiful. When she first moved in, we put things away, and we helped set up her room. There is plenty of space in her room. She has a full bed in there, she has a nice comfortable recliner, and she has a room like a bistro set. Atria is also one of the more affordable places that we looked at. All the others looked fine. We tried to get educated on different aspects of her care and how her physical and mental being would progress and how they would care for her as she needed more care, and Atria just seemed to be the right fit for us.

I had a visit with Atria Tinton Falls. They came here to assess my husband, and the nurse said they wouldn’t be able to accept him because of the really bad pressure blister on his foot. They are not equipped to deal with that. Atria Tinton Falls is a beautiful facility. They have a very caring staff, and the grounds are lovely. Everybody seemed very nice, but the pricing was high.

I liked where Atria was located, and I thought the people were friendly. It was saying independent living because the people didn’t need help, but it wasn’t the kind of independent living we were looking for. It was more of an assisted living type of place. However, I was very impressed with the way they run things, and their staff was informative and spent time with me and my father.

Dad is staying at Atria for 5 years now, he has lost mobility, but he does participate in activities. He plays bingo and cards. They have a beautiful dining room, they have a great chef, and the meals are usually very good. I have no complaints, they’re very good including the care, housekeeping, and the nursing staff. I know it’s a little expensive, but it’s the best in the area where I live. My dad is very happy there, considers Atria his home, and he doesn’t want to move elsewhere.

One of the places I visited was Atria. It was a little bit further away from a well-lived area and a little bit further away from my family, but it was very nice. Everybody had been very accommodating. From the advertising, it looked like it had a lot of stuff. They said people who still drive could go out every day. However, I did not need a place with three meals a day. I needed a little bit of assistance, but I was not really ready for full time.

During our visit in Atria Tinton Falls, I would say that the salesperson was a little too pushy. The apartments were tiny and didn't have a kitchen inside. People should eat at the dining room because of that. They had similar activities that other places had such as bingo and card games. The thing that they would do differently was having a happy hour a couple times a week. The only thing we didn't like when we walked in was the number of people in wheelchairs and walkers. The entrance was a little crowded. Other than that, it was a beautiful community overall.

Everything was really exceptional at Atria Tinton Falls. They had a gym, a beautiful dining room, and very good food. I liked it very much; it was a pleasant place, but I need help around the clock. I'm incapacitated, and I can't get around by myself. I looked at a single room, but I couldn't get my wheelchair to the doorway, and the two-bedroom was very beautiful and has a kitchenette, but I couldn't get my wheelchair to the doorway of the bathroom to take a shower.

The Atria Tinton Falls (44 Pine Street) was very nice. It was very clean. It appeared like a very well-run, really nice facility. They seemed very open to having my parents come and visit, but it just was not the right time for them. They showed me around and were very courteous and informative. I thought the rooms were small, but well-lit and very clean. I didn't eat anything, but they did invite my family for dinner, and they sent me home with a freshly baked pie. They provide transportation, game night, movie night-- those kinds of things. It looked more like a hotel to me. It was very new.

Great facility. Bright, cheery atmosphere. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They have visiting performers. They have numerous activities. They try their best to stimulate and engage the residents. There are two sides: Assisted Living and Memory Care. The only drawback is that the Memory Care side has small rooms and limited space for their residents.

Before my mother had to move out, I would have given the faciity a very positive review. However, the Atria would not properly account for my mother's rent and credits that should have accrued while she was hospitalized near the end of her stay. Furthermore, they refused to refund rent after they said mom would not be able to return to the facility. I spoke several times to the business manager, who said they would review the case and get back to me. They never did, never returned phone calls and never replied to written correspondence. After more than a year as a resident, I was very disappointed that they terminated my mother's residence with no warning and refused to credit the rent they told me would be returned. I no longer recommend the Atria to my friends for their loved ones.
Provider Response
Thank you for your feedback regarding Atria Tinton Falls. While I'm glad to hear that your family had a positive experience during your mother's stay at our community, I apologize that there seemed to be some confusion with the adjustments that were issued. I have spoken with the community business director who would be happy to review everything with you. She was unfortunately unable to find any written correspondence on file. Please feel free to email us directly at customerservice@atriaseniorliving.com and include the community name so that we may connect you with the appropriate person who can best explain the invoices you received.

i think that, overally, the facility was very nice and welcoming for an assisted-living home. these places tend to have a reputation of being depressing and have a generally negative connotation. however, the residents at this home seemed uplifting despite their old age and my family and i could tell that it was because of the staff that seem to genuinely care about the residents and the tons of activities that are held every day for the residents. the amenities of the housing were very nice including a beautiful outdoor patio area and plenty of space for socializing and playing games; activities which are crucial to this particular age group.

The personal living quarters at this facility were fairly spacious compared to others. The rooms of residents that I personally had the opportunity to see with my own eyes were very nice, and those rooms were decordated with the many personal effects of the residents. The facility brouht in people from outside (hence my school trip there) for entertainment and enjoyment of the retirees. They also offered as many recreational activities as one could imagine for such a place, such as excercise courses, arts and crafts, music listening and playing, simple courses such as computer classes, and many similar enjoyable things. Rooms were well lit, and had ample airflow and window access. ONe of the best things that they had to offer was the shuttle service to local shopping sites and malls. These services ran fairly frequently, with sheculed trips weekly to essential places such as grocery stores. The facility is located near top rated hospitals and medical care practices, and residents have no trouble getting the necessary care, medications, and personal treatment that each individual needs.

My parents reluctantly sold their home and moved to assisted living. It was a very difficult time for all involved. The staff at The Atria made the transition as smooth as possible. My dad failed quickly, as we knew he would in the next six months and has since passed. My mom has florished in having that six months, getting to know people, activities and routine, and has expressed how grateful she is to have had the six months transition.. It was a blessing that we had the help and caring we did from this professional setting. Everyone was more than happy to help and continues to provide the caring I know I could not do by myself for my mother. My entire family thanks them and would be happy to counsel and encourage this transiton to families who were where we we were 2 years ago. Both my brothers ive in California, so they relied on my judgement. I visited over 10 residences in this area and hand hands down i kept coming back to the Atria...Eileen Abernethy
