My mom is a current resident in the Memory Care Unit in a studio apartment. Its a beautiful place she loves her room has enough room for everything she needs. The staff is beyond helpful and so caring for all the residents, they always stop and chat to everyone residents and visitors. They are kept busy with all kinds of games and activities which my mom loves. I've dealt with Francisca and she is the most amazing person I've had contact with and she goes above and beyond to help and make sure everything goes smoothly in a difficult time. We would have been lost without her. I would highly recommend the Memory Care unit if its something you are looking for.

I've had a very good experience here at Spring Oak Assisted Living of Forked River for the past 5 weeks. I'm very happy to be here, and I feel included with the rest of the people that are here. I'm feeling really good about this place, and I feel more comfortable here than being at home with one leg. My room is extremely comfortable. The staff has been more than helpful to me. When I have some questions, they give me the answers quickly. The food here is not the best I ever had, but it certainly is not the worst either. They give you choices if you don't want the main thing they're serving. Different things are going on every day. I was just downstairs a while ago playing chess with somebody. There's some Halloween activities coming up. I go to Walmart with them on Thursday mornings. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities before and after the meals and they have bus trips to the dollar store and Chinese restaurants and things like that.

We have chosen Spring Oak Assisted Living of Forked River for my father. We took him there to see it and he liked it. He felt he was walking into a very plush hotel. He was happy that he was able to have his choice of room once he had his assessment. He was able to get a one-bedroom room, which we can set up his own way. Whatever we need to do to the room, we're allowed to do it. We're allowed to paint it, and we're allowed to put new doors in. Whatever we want to do. He can bring his own furniture. We like that. They have activities, but they don't force him into the activities. If he doesn't want to do it, then they just let him stay in his room, which was a good thing because he's not very sociable at this point right now. Maybe once he gets comfortable. We're hoping to see like a total 180 in him as far as socializing. It has three floors. The first floor was the assisted living, the second floor was for memory care, which is where my father's going to be going, and then the third floor was like past memory care, which was like really heavy-duty daily care. We were glad that he was going to be going on the second floor because he can pretty much come and go as he pleases, and he has a lot of freedom. This is what we're being told once he gets in there and hopefully that will all remain true. We saw both assisted living and memory care, and they were both very clean and very organized. We got a chance to look at some of the residents. They were very clean, they looked very happy, and it didn't seem like anybody was grumpy. Everybody was sociable. Even some of the residents were greeting my dad as he was getting pushed through in his wheelchair, so it was nice to see. It just looked very good. The main thing for us was we didn't want him being forced into socializing or forced into being in a room where there is a lot of stuff going on, like people are talking, there's music playing, and the TV's on, he doesn't like all of that. We wanted to make sure he wasn't going to be pressured into being in an atmosphere like that, so that's what we like about Spring Oaks. Everybody was very informative. They answered every question I had. They even answered some questions that I didn't know I was going to have. Everybody seemed knowledgeable of what was going on, who did what, and how things were handled as far as medications. This was a pleasant experience for sure. The layout was very simple and easy for residents to move around, and there was plenty of space. The hallways were wide enough where two or three people could pass by each other and they're not going to be like bumping into each other. It's a very open space, and that was good.

Spring Oak Assisted Living of Forked River is a wonderful place. I really like it. The staff is very friendly, very supportive to the residents' needs, and very reasonably priced. My dad is in the memory care and the staff there is friendly and accommodating. They also have a gym, a salon, a barbershop, main dining room, a beautiful outside patio with a gazebo, and transportation services.

My family struggled to find a good place to put my mom but, when we stepped foot inside Spring Oak Assisted Living of Forked River we knew this was the right fit!! The staff is attentive, organized and so kind hearted. From the start of the touring process, to the admission paperwork through move-in they went above and beyond. Even now, the wellness team keeps us updated on her health and overall how she is doing. When we have a question they are always willing to help and go the extra mile. The food is fresh and homecooked which was such a big deal to my mom. The activity team always keeps them busy too! I highly recommend this community to anyone who is looking!

This building needs to be upgraded. They have the memory care unit on the 3 floor If there was ever a fire half of the residents can get get out. The memory care floor has filthy dirty floors including tables and chairs. The poor residents sit in the dinning area all day long in dirty diapers looking at the walls. They are understaffed with just 1 CNA to 30 residents on the 3rd floor. The food they serve to the residents on the 3rd floor is horrific. I would never put my love one in a memory care facility like this.

My mom has just become a resident as of 2/14/17. I'm adding a review now because of how I was handled as an over-stressed, overwhelmed, frightened daughter entering a season of life that is so extremely delicate and scary. Most (90%) of the executive staff is helpful and ease the transition as best they can without making you feel as if your loved one is a "cash cow" and without sounding harsh, "a body in a bed =$$$...The support staff on the other hand (nurse, aides) are EXCEPTIONAL! We had a rough first and second day that can only be described as, "you can't make this up" with my mom and her declining diesese????. They (Mimi and Michelle) were compassionate and caring when even I couldn't take the stress. The serving staff (dining) are a bit harsh and rough on the residents and could use a bit more training in human kindness. After all these residents are far from charity and pay a substantial rent/fee for their home. Time will tell as to the care and kindness I will observe and critique as the weeks and months go by...I will update and adjust when necessary! We all should be more vocal in demanding superior care for our senior loved ones! We owe them our existence and should be treasured ????

I went to Spring Oak Assisted Living. The people whom I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable. She explained everything to me the best that I could comprehend it. She showed me some rooms. I asked one resident how she liked it there, and she sort of just shrugged her shoulder like "Ah, it's OK." The one thing that I didn't understand was she said after Medicaid paid their share, the social security and all that, somebody other than her in the family had to pay an extra $350, and I didn't understand why. What was that $350 for, and why did it have to come from somebody other than my mother? I didn't speak to some of the staff because the ones that I saw walking around seemed to be doing their job. The only thing that I saw was that when you walk in, it was kind of dark. The lobby could be brighter and stuff like that.

My mother is in Spring Oak. The staff seems very committed to the patients, and I think that's the main thing that we noticed about it. They really make everybody feel comfortable. It's a clean, well-kept place. Every day, there are multiple things that they do. My mother is in the dementia unit, so they do mostly singing, bingo, and word games. They do a little bit of light exercise also. The security is very good. They can't leave the floor without authorization. They wear an electronic thing on their wrists that prevents them from using the elevator. I think it's a very nice place.

I really appreciated the staff's genuine nature. You can tell that they care about each person, not just doing their job. It was always very clean and as comfortable as it could be. They do trips and movie nights, which are the best part. It's hard to spend bonding time with a loved one when day after day you're just sitting in some room. I have gone fishing and to the mall and watched movies and it helps get everyone out and about. They put a lot of thought into everything they do here.

When my Dad lived at Spring Oak your front desk receptionists were always helpful and friendly to me and to my Dad. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job and the food service was always above expectations. An especially big thank you to the nurses, staff and aids in the Wellness Center who were considerate and dependable, no matter when I called. And to the management of Spring Oak for your assistance in putting me in contact with the services that helped to provide my Dad with the best possible care
