My mother-in-law moved into Sunrise of Jackson. We chose it because we were looking for a place that was smaller, and we preferred a small clientele base. The appearance is very, very warm. It reminds me of a ski lodge. It is very updated. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. They have a wonderful activity calendar every month. They do painting, bingo, and movie nights. They also have meditation and light yoga. They always have regular items, like sandwiches, but always two or three additional daily special hot meals. They have crab cakes. We had a wonderful turkey dinner and the food was excellent.

Sunrise of Jackson seemed very old to me. I liked the person who I spoke with and what they had to offer sounded great, but I was looking for something a little bit newer. The tour experience was excellent. All the employees seemed to be very friendly, but I wasn't totally satisfied with the rooms. They were small for what I was looking for and they didn't have a 2-bedroom apartment that I could look at.

My mother is in Sunrise of Jackson. It's mixed performance. They have a hard time keeping staff and they do not hold up to their promises. They aren't taking care of her correctly. Their billing practices are outrageous. They charged extra for care they did not provide. The food smells amazing, but I have never tasted it. They have a hairdresser. They have several rooms that they can gather in to do activities. They have exercise, a puzzle room and a game room, they have a library, they have bingo set up quite a bit, and they have card games and poker set up. They have a kitchen for them when they're having activities that make food. They also have wine and cheese night on Saturdays and other activities. Everybody's locked in. You can't get in and out without passcodes, but they have outside patio areas that are secured. Their building is secured. She has a living room area, her own personal bathroom and bedroom, and then a microwave, and a small refrigerator. They have several apartment layouts. She's got one of the bigger layouts. They keep going through directors and all kinds of other people. My mother has been there a year and a half and they've changed management several times. Her room smells like urine all day long. They keep going through activity people right and left. I'm having problems with them charging me $10,000 a month and my mother not getting showered and bathed. I wouldn't be looking for a different place if they lived up to their promises. The place is very pretty, but the reason I haven't moved her is because her room is right outside the dining area. Some of the other places I looked at are so big. She'd have to go up and down elevators and all these hallways. If they would just do what they're supposed to do, I'd be thrilled to have her there.

Sunrise of Jackson is a newer building. It was also very well kept. The staff told me there are 92 beds in that facility. They explained the ratio of help to the people and the doctors that come in. It seemed to be a little bigger facility. They had outdoor spaces. People could sit and walk, there is a big grassy area. It seemed nice outside and it's pleasant to look out. The grounds were maintained well. The staff were good. They're salespeople, I understand that, but they also wouldn't stay in business if they weren't truthful, and they were. I felt that the people looked very happy there. It was very clean and very well kept. They have suites that I think could accommodate maybe two people, and there's separate bathrooms, but with a common area.

The tour at Sunrise of Jackson was very nice and helpful. The appearance was nice and open. The upkeep was good because they were cleaning while I was there. They were good at contacting me and following up. They have bingo, cards, activities, movies, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The staff members were all very nice.

The person who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable and provided me with answers to all my questions. The residents I saw all seemed glad to be there. The grounds are quiet and all rooms I saw were a good size. I would definitely consider placing my loved one here when the time comes to make this decision.

My mother moved into Sunrise of Jackson. She's only been there for a month, but so far, she seems happy, she's eating, and she's being taken care of. It's good. They're very friendly and helpful. She's in memory care. She likes the music.

Sunrise of Jackson was the best one that I toured by far. I liked the whole atmosphere. It's a lot more like being at home than the other places where it felt more like a hotel or a hospital. It's just beautiful. Everyone's very friendly. The place was very open and warm, and the rooms were nice. I visited the memory care and met the activity person and found that there were lots of activities that they do. I had a copy of their menu too, as well as their activities schedule, and they were great.

Sunrise of Jackson was a very home-like place. It's only one level and has sort of a rustic or ranch style. They had home baked goods, and they were very friendly people. The guy who took me on the tour was great. They seemed to have nice amenities. The place was more spread out, so it might be difficult for my aunt to get around. They had a big kitchen, and they were baking in there. They had a lot of nice lounging areas around the place and a nice little courtyard, but they didn't seem to have a lot of outdoor areas.

From the moment we first walked into Sunrise of Jackson we felt the love and kindness. Although my mom did not live there for very long (6 months) the staff has left a lasting impression on my family. The level of commitment the staff has for their residents is outstanding. Everyone always went above and beyond to make sure my mom was well taken care of, had everything she needed, was happy, and respected. They did a great job keeping me updated on my mom especially during the pandemic when we were unable to visit as well as always letting the families of their residents know what they were doing to keep things as normal as possible and the new they things they were implementing during these crazy times. When my mom lived at Sunrise of Jackson I was able to sleep at night knowing that she was safe and being taken care of. My family will always be grateful to everyone at Sunrise of Jackson for everything they did and we are going to miss seeing everyone. You are all now part of our family.

Sunrise of Jackson was a nice place. The admissions director was very professional, gave us a lot of very good information, and took us on a tour of the place. The rooms were pleasant, clean, and there was no odor. It had a pleasant and very warm atmosphere. They don't accept Medicaid though.

I was very impressed with Sunrise of Jackson. It was open, had high ceilings, there was music playing when you walked in, and there were a bit more men. They had a lot of activities going on that I was able to see. The rooms were fine and they had options. They had meeting rooms and an exercise room. The staff was great. They made me a hot apple pie to take home. It was very clean. I was pleased with it.

My parents moved here in April and couldn’t be happier. From the very first tour I took with the sales staff to right now with the caretakers and the rest of the staff, this place is now home for them and they are so happy. Everyone here goes above and beyond to make sure Mom and dad are always looked after and cared for in a loving and kind way. I cannot day enough about Sunrise of Jackson. If you are looking for Senior Living for a loved one, look no further than Sunrise.

I liked Sunrise of Jackson because it had life to it. It was lively and had a wonderful sales person. If we had not put Dad somewhere else, this would have been the place for him.

We took a tour at Sunrise of Jackson. It thought it was very good. It was expensive, but it was very nice. I wouldn't the say rooms were really spacious, but adequate. They had a little kitchen, which was really nice, and everything was new too. The food is very good. We liked it. The dining area was very nice. It was like a restaurant. I knew the security was adequate. I liked that they had everything there -- everything they wanted to do and eat. Partly, I did see different things that they were doing.

Sunrise of Jackson is unbelievable. It is wonderful, the staff is exceptional, and it is a welcoming atmosphere. My father is kept clean, and his room does not smell. There is no smell in the whole building or any of the areas. As a man, they have a men's club, and they so-called play cards, which in dementia, they are really not, but they think they are. The gentleman in charge of the activities takes the men to go watch the baseball games, and he takes them to the boardwalk to have ice-cream. I can't tell you enough how wonderful this place is. It is a wonderful feeling, and for me to leave my dad there was fantastic. I can't say enough about this place and if anybody wanted to go there, they can call me and I'll tell you. I am very happy, I'd let everybody know. The staff should know how wonderful they are.

I am a family member of a resident. The facility is lovely and very home like. The care managers are excellent. The management staff, however is in dire need of organizational, communication and time-management skills. The nursing staff is minimal, though excellent. There is no nurse available every night, and there are only 3 care managers available in the evenings for the entire facility. The visiting doctor is excellent. They boast a designated care manager team for residents (especially important to those with dementia) to build a comfortable and comforting relationship with a specific team of care managers. My loved one has dementia, but is still high functioning. They keep changing the "team" who helps her...and that is not good. She never feels "comfortable" with "strangers" helping her shower, and other personal tasks. If the "team" were consistently made up of the same care managers, this would not be a problem. The food is good. (I still can't figure out why they use canned fruit & veggies all year round, when fresh is always available.) The menu consists of a choice of two main entrees, and a 2 alternates. The hamburgers and hot dogs are good and very popular...which tells you something about the main entrees. The apartments are lovely, and are kept fairly clean. The housekeeping is done once per week, and linens are changed once per week. However, the "cleaning" does not seem to include the window seat/sills nor the ceilings. The activities are boring after a few months...same bingo, movies, crossword puzzles. Beading and watching someone bake cookies, and at least one entertainer/wk seem to be it. Trips to local stores, shopping centers and Atlantic City are few and far between. Overall I would probably recommend Sunrise at Jackson, but with reservations regarding management and stimulating activities.

Sunrise of Jackson was absolutely outstanding. My mother was in a large studio because she was there on a week's trial. They provided plenty of furniture and appointments for her. The staff were very caring and thorough. The dining facilities were very nice, the menu and food were good. It was very well-run and very clean. She was there for only ten days, but from what we saw, the activities were the usual ones. I would recommend this facility to other people.

A great place if your loved one is independent in his/her care and needs some basic housekeeping & meals provided to them. Facility looks nice, has fresh flowers daily and a community dog & cat. Sunrise is a poorly ran facility, it lacks good management. Staff is at bare minimum. Nursing / Wellness department needs much improvement, it lacks leadership and accountability. Activities calendar looks chock full of stuff, however when reading it, it's clear there is minimal activities for the residents. The have many clubs offered, however Sunrise believes residents should run the clubs so staff is not allocated to help run/ coordinate them. DVD Movies are a main player in the calendar. Memory stimulating activities are in very short supply. Bingo is played a few times a week, with the prizes of small chocolate candy. Activities department has 2 staff members one being the director. I suggest requesting the last state inspection report from facility, in fact from any facility. I also suggest talking with other residents, they are the biggest reviewers for they live there and see so much more then anyone else can say. Unfortunately, unless Sunrise raise the bar of standards, I would not recommend this facility.

This is a assisted living and retirement community combined. The community itself is not bad at all, with many seniors still active in social settings. There are parties scheduled regularly to celebrate all sorts of occasions and the crew is very helpful. This place also looks great on the outside, if you can find it. This community is kind of hidden behind a development and is very easy to miss, which is good for security reasons. There aren't too many signs that indicate where this community is, but there is a gated entrance and a buzzer/phone system which allows entry to visitors. The community is quite at night and alive during the day, truly something nice to see in a senior community. The common living areas are always clean and kept in mostly good repair, and when something is broken the maintenence seems to get on it right away. Seniors are also encouraged to have their own little gardens around their apartments, and there is also a community garden which is always full of interesting plant life.

My Mom was a resident at Sunrise Of Jackson for almost two years. During that time, she was well cared for, and quite happy. The Director, Robyn, and her staff went out of their way to treat everyone like family, and that included the actual family of the residents. Also, the menus were wonderful and the food delicious. They also had a full social calendar, so those who wanted and were able to participate usually were entertained. This included frequent outings outside of the residence. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs an Assisted Living facility in that area.
