Villas of Holmdel was a new facility. It was well organized and it had a separate wing for memory care. They had resources 24 x 7 if the residents should have an issue. The place was safe. The menus were appropriate for their residents. The staff was knowledgeable and willing to help.

I visited the Villas of Holmdel. It's brand new, and it opened two weeks before I went. It was very expensive, and it was extremely gorgeous. It's a dream place for me, I'm not old enough, but it's a dream place for me to go. It didn't have enough residents for what I was looking for. I wanted my mom to have an active life with residents rather than being there. Only 12 people were living in the place at the time, so that was why I didn't stay there. The place was amazing, and it was gorgeous. We were masked; it was very clean, and they were very cautious about following protocol. Not everything was up and running yet, but everything was brand new, stellar, and top of the line. Everything was top-of-the-line, including their salon and barbershop and they had a spa. I guess I didn't leave with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I left with the feeling that I like this place, but it was not going to work. I also met the nurse on staff, and she was super knowledgeable. I felt like I might have been rushed because the person who was supposed to see me went home sick. I was squeezed in on somebody else's schedule, so they probably were rushed, but they did show me everything. They have a little bakery cafe, like a boulangerie cafe and bistro area where you could sit and get little bagels and stuff at this outpost, but it's inside for them. They had a bar set up and a big, all-purpose room for shows, bands, and things. Everything was beautifully decorated, there wasn't a detail missed. There was an escalator and elevators, and there was a fountain, but they were still in the process of getting that running. There were a lot of nice calming features to it. The spa has a liquid, like a hydro bed or hydro massager that you could use. It was an amazing place, plus, they offered a massage. The facility was state-of-the-art. I didn't get an opportunity to taste the food, but they do have a happy hour. They have a drink maximum at their happy hour, you can only have two drinks in the privacy of your own room. It is expensive, but I think that the value equates to their prices.
