My father-in-law was a recent resident on the 3rd floor and we found that team as well the admissions director to be very warm and caring to their patients and their families. He was only there for a few weeks but they kept him safe, took good care of him and made him smile. They were always available to answer questions and give status updates both in person and on the phone. Takes very special people to do this job and remember that their patients are people!

I have a friend in Royal Suites at Galloway. She is currently spending over 40 days confined to her bed. In part due to staff shortages (hoyer lift and feeding) and in part due to a broken custom wheelchair. Her bed sores are getting worse and I am hopeful that a care conference can find a way to better her situation. Do not tell me to contact you! Get to work.

Absolutely awesome activity department! We visited the day of the carnival and it was fantastic! My aunt looked so happy and it was great experiencing this with her considering she tends to be sad. We did not expect this kind of programming in a nursing facility. She is doing her best in rehab and they are all great therapists. The activity department is keeping her happy and we are so thankful!

My mother has been in Rehab. When we speak on the phone she is raving about the activities she attends. She loves all of the entertainment, games, prizes and special parties. She is being kept busy while she tries to regain her strength and we are very happy for these activity services. Thank you to this department, you are all doing a great job.

Royal Suites Healthcare & Rehabilitation is doing an excellent job. They're taking good care of my brother-in-law, and they are acclimating him to their activities and the facility. The interaction with the staff is excellent. My brother-in-law is in a shared room. They have activities every day. They have things going on. People come in and entertain, and they have crafts.

This so-called Nursing and Rehab facility is deplorable. Short staffed nurses don’t want to be bothered. Admin and Nursing Dept dances around important issues without resolving family and resident issues. Tells families what they want to hear. One-Star is much too generous!

In addition to allover, great medical care. I've really appreciated the activity department to keep my mental health at a high level. There's always something going to distract me + not get depressed. Have never stayed at another rehab that was so great at doing this,

We visited our aunt on rehab floor. Our family was so impressed with the activity department. There was a event going on. A live musician playing for the patients. It was a great party. The activity staff was so welcoming and friendly. Everyone received ice cream and patients were given these big beautiful balloon hats! they looked amazing. Everyone was happy and they were singing to the music. It was nice seeing our aunt have a good time. The patients are fortunate to have an activity staff like this one to keep them busy. These people care. From personal experience not all facilities have programs like this. I was in a accident 2 years ago and had to be in a rehab for almost 3 months. I was depressed. I did not see anything like this regarding activities during my stay. If i had this type of activities that royal suites has my stay would have been much happier. I just wanted to share my thoughts on what we saw and how much this staff is appreciated. Aleshia and Gerry were fun to be around. Great job!

The third floor is a disgrace. Its a shame because this nursing home is beautiful and welcoming when you first come into the front doors. But once you enter the third floor it is totally different vibe. The nurse aids are rude and seem to get away with having personal conversations at the nurse desk and "hanging out" instead of caring for the patients that are lined up in the hallway. crying and asking for help. This floor needs supervision and friendlier nurse aids. I do not want to discuss this further. Jut go to the floor and SEE what is going on and fix it. Its a shame. Really is.

I am a resident of Royal Suites. I love the nurses who take acre of me. I appreciate and love the activity staff. I like to keep busy, and they make sure I have my volunteer work to do. Tracy, the nurse manager, is so nice.

I am a resident. I am happy living here, because the workers are so nice. I like to speak Spanish with the Laundry workers at the facility. I like to come to the card game activities, and listen to music. My nurses know me, and I am comfortable with them

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place !! They lied to me from the minute I walk into it. I was told I`d be on lock down for 3 days then when I thought I was going to get rehab they said it would be 7 days. It was a complete nightmare and let`s not talk about the food, they tell you it`s good food, my 1st day I got a piece of bread ( still have the picture I sent my wife) & coffee. The rest was so bland, food was disgusting. Terrible, terrible, terrible. the only positive thing I have to say about this place is some of the nurse`s cared about the way I was treated. They told me I was getting in room physical therapy, NOT they would come in and mostly talk to me for 10 mins. If you needed someone and rang the bell you could ring all you wanted and no one ever showed up. have left the facility and would never ever recommend them to anyone. please don't believe all the good blogs, if you notice none of them are recent.

The direct care staff and nurses are caring and attentive. Dietary staff and reception are also very nice. Although someone came in and mopped the bathroom, it was still disgusting. I brought cleaning supplies from home and cleaned it myself. There is no hot water in the shower. The shower wand leaks so the water only trickles out of the shower head. There were dirty gloves left on the floor of the shower room. We were there for subacute rehab. Therapy services are very good.

terrible, terrible, terrible. the only positive thing i have to say about this place is physical therapy was very good . i had a knee replacement and was basically confined to my bed. you could ring all you want and no one ever showed up. if they did they would leave you on the bowl 40-60 minutes. pain meds were to be given every four hours as needed. you would have to buzz an hour in advance and most of the time it was over an hours wait. food was disgusting and attitudes of staff was horrible. i complained to nurse manager and she rectified most of the problems. her last words to me were it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes for anyone to respond unless there's an emergency things were fine until they changed shifts, i was left in the bathroom for 1 hour and after that they gave me the wrong meds. tried contacting nurse manager... took her 1 day and 4 messages later to get back to me to tell me they were busy. have left the facility and would never ever recommend them to anyone. please don't believe all the good blogs, if you notice none of them are recent.

This place is horrible, the staff is incompetent, lazy and useless. The dad's room was not swept (floors were dirty), bedding was dirty and soiled which my dad was laying in. Staff made no effort to clean or change his bedding. My dad also asked for assistance in getting out of bed to the bathroom rang the bell and no one attended to him. He had major abdomen surgery and has difficulty getting into & out of bed. The staff was not willing to assist in giving him a shower either. I also reached out to the assistant director and manager of the facility. they were of very little help! I am looking to transfer my dad out. Had I know regarding the lack of patient care, I would have never transferred him to this facility which was highly rated. I would never ever think of having my loved one there for 1 extra minute if I did not have too. This is a horrifying experience for me as well my dad who has to put up with bad behavior and horrible patient care post surgery. Hita Shah

Difficult to get answers regarding family members. Staff never calls with updates. Doctors never call, even when x-rays are done, family unaware. Had to call administration to get answers. Called dietary regarding need for soft chopped foods for family member, requested call back but to no avail. No update from therapy about her progress. Frustrating to say the least. I am a retired nurse who worked long term care for 16 years and I never treated families this way. When I call I feel like I am bothering them. May have to go further than administration if things don’t change.

My mother is in Royal Suites Healthcare & Rehabilitation. I can't see her until after the 14-day probation period. I chose them because I read the reviews online, and all the reviews were pleasant. She has been in a hospital bed for three to four weeks, so she is relearning how to use all her muscles again. She lost her muscle strength, so that's what they're also helping her with. Some of it is slowly coming back, but not all of it. She also lost her appetite within that timeframe when she was in the hospital, so they gave her medicine to start eating a little bit better. Her appetite is improving, but not really good yet. The facility is very well kept. The nurses are very informative. The staff alone is unbelievable from what I can tell. They tell me how my mom's doing, if she ate a little bit, or if she has an off moment. They'll wheel her down to the nurse's station or in front of the TV. They keep me informed of everything. They go out of their way to give her food for different things that she asks for. They have a therapist or someone who comes to the room and works with her a little bit.

A day or two after my 89 year-old mother was admitted there, they took her to the orthopedic doc who x-rayed her shoulder. Three weeks later, after we insisted on taking her home, we had another x-ray done by the same doc. Her break was worse. The aides were so rough on her that they made her broken shoulder WORSE. And they were so short handed much of the time while she was there that my 91 year-old father and I had to get her out of bed, into her wheelchair and to the bathroom much of the time because no aide was available. They let her go on constipated far too long, till she was crying with misery. They don't pay enough to attract decent or enough aides.

It is with pleasure that I write this note to Royal Suite management concerning its staff and facilities. The accommodations here are excellent. The room was pleasant and kept clean at all times. The aides and nurses were very attentive on my behalf. Overall my care was very good. I was astounded at the size and zeal of the staff in PT and OT. I could not have gotten better care, especially Brian and Patty. I would recommend Royal Suites to anyone.

Here are some thoughts on a recent experience (for one week) at Royal Suites Rehabilitation in Jan 2019. The rooms are a comfortable size and laid out in such a way as to give roommates some privacy. That's the good news. Unfortunately, I wouldn't consider the facility to be clean including bedrooms, bathrooms, and hallways. Piles of soiled linens and patients that need bathroom assistance added to the unpleasant odor. My family member who stayed there had consistent challenges getting personal assistance especially when it was needed most. After hearing daily stories, I witnessed it first hand as I too, went to get help and it just wasn't available. The lack of responsiveness could be a result of poor staffing but those that were on staff tended to be more robotic than truly caring or readily attentive. The food that was delivered to patient rooms was cold and barely editable. Cold eggs, cold coffee, cold everything. We had to bring in our own meals for 7 days. I would give the doctors, nurses and therapists 5 out of 10. There was little willingness to follow up on inquiries about changes in medications or patience with patients who are not used to being immobile. In summary, if you have a choice, select another care facility. We moved across the street and the care (in every way) is night and day!!

My husband, Chester, and I cannot thank the folks at Royal Suites Healthcare and Rehabilitation, enough for their kindness and for making us feel so welcome and at home. Their nurses, Sarah, Ray and Sam are terrific. Physical therapists, Ron, Percy and Donna are the best. Dawn and Cindy in guest services, Liz from activities and the aides, Veronica and Lebe were super kind. We will miss seeing all of them.

People I met at the Royal Suites Healthcare center, were very sociable. Overall, I would say the therapists were very nice to me and to each other - which is also important for running a smooth operation in the OT/PT rooms! This was a "clean" rehab center, from what I witnessed during the time I stayed there. I wouldn't mind staying there again if I had to in the future and would recommend them without hesitation.

i just want to say I had a good time at the royal suites healthcare center. People were very nice. Nurses, doctors, staff, especially Cindy that runs the whole dining room and just about everything on the second floor. She was so nice and caring that I felt I was home and that she was my big sister.

I would not recommend this facility. My dad was a patient on the Long Term floor and fell 7 times. They are understaffed and not equipped to deal with multiple crises at once. They also lost most of his clothes...

I was a patient at this home from beginning of December to the end of February. I opted to return to this rehab because the physical therapy department was great. They taught me to walk again. Cindy in the dining room was a blessing to all she served. I will miss her. i will be back if needed.

Excellent rehab facility for our loved one. We looked at a few other rehabilitation centers in the Galloway area and when we toured Royal Suites, we knew we found the right place. The facility is recently renovated and the staff were all attentive and professional. The rehab was extensive and that was our most important measure, because we wanted to get home as soon as possible. They made it happen.

For the most part, my mother's stay in Royal Suites Healthcare and Rehabilitation is fine. Nursing is wonderful. There are some wonderful aides and there are also some terrible ones. The rooms are big and spacious. Their dining room is nowhere near a five star dining as opposed to what they have said to me over the phone. The food is not that good. Yes, it is edible but there are days when my mom doesn't like the food. Good thing is that they are trying to improve on it now. They play bingo and sometimes they have karaoke. They also watch movies and sometimes they have nail and hair salon too. They have things for special occasions as well. I just really think that they need to have more aides for the residents.

Royal Suites Health Care & Rehabilitation Center was very patient with my sister-in-law. She is a difficult person; she has some emotional or mental issues. She would call the police in the middle of the night; she was on that buzzer constantly. I think they did their best. I’ve heard some pros and cons about this place. They got her into rehab every day; it seemed like the therapy was good. From what I saw, it was clean and bright, but the food was very mediocre. Breakfast wasn’t good at all, but the people were as nice as they could be. It was a lot better than what I had anticipated; there was a beautiful lobby area, and the rooms were cheerful and nicer than regular hospital rooms.

No checks and balances as incorrect medications provided. Different responses depending on to whom you speak. No review of medications with family upon entrance. No cell phone service. Very little stimulation for patients. Staff is friendly but seriously overworked and Royal Suites is understaffed.

I have never been impressed with Royal Suites as a whole. My grandmother's needs are consistently ignored, sometimes resulting in health issues. In fact, if not for my family's almost daily visits to the facility, I would fear for my grandmother's safety in staying in such a place. The facilities themselves are mediocre at best, and the halls tend to have a foul, unclean odor. The rooms have a cold, hospital look and feel to them, and I feel as though the facility could benefit from a remodeling. The staff at Royal Suites, while generally friendly, seems to lack motivation and comes off as quite lazy. For the amount of money that is paid to Royal Suites on a monthly basis, one would assume that the conditions and overall care given would be top notch. Unfortunately, Royal Suites falls very short of that. Overall, I would not recommend this facility to anyone, and would like the move my grandmother to a different nursing home.
