My aunt is doing great at North Cape Center. It's the best I've seen her in a long time. I think she likes being around people, socializing. The nurses, the staff, and everybody have been fantastic working and handling my aunt. These people have a lot to deal with daily and I give them a lot of credit for handling her. It's a tough job. It was comforting to see her in a good environment. It was clean and the staff is doing a fantastic job. Her room is nice. It's simple, clean, orderly, and cozy. It's not like a sterile hospital environment where everything's bright and fluorescent light shining down on you. It's warm and comforting. All the residents seemed to be enjoying the meals. She cleans her plate, so she must like it. When I was there, she had a hamburger, fries, and a little dessert. She seemed very happy with what she was having. So, the food is good. It's a nice clean place. The staff is super friendly. All the people seemed happy. It was very clean, large, spacious, and well-kept.

Rooms are due and outdated. Feels more like a funeral parlor. Unstaffed. The food is horrible, hot food is always cold, hot drinks are lukewarm. Some meals are served with no drink. Coffee don't even both ordering. The shower looks like something from a prison. Medications are hit or miss and only a few nurses get them correct even after repeating them for days. They need a new resident doctor who relates to patient, speaks English and takes their medical issues into account and doesn't change their medications, dosages and times. Most locals won't step foot in his office. Meals are hit or miss, eggs are served way too often, powdered creamers which are very unhealthy. No choices of meal so you eat what they cook whether you like it or not or don't eat. Stay away. The advertisement states 5 stars I'm being nice and give it a 2. Don't recommend.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone. My Mother has been a resident for a number of years. This has been, by far, the worst experience of my life. There is neither accountability nor compassion necessary from this company to give your loved one any type of quality of life. They offer no real Activities other then BINGO and the Administrator Karen Hoffman has bullied my Mother on several occasions. Because of the staffing cut backs by Genesis HealthCare the care my Mother receives is sub-par. We are currently searching for a new home for her.
