My mother is at Grafton County Nursing Home. It is a great facility. It's very clean and very organized, and she's very well taken care of. The security is great, too. The staff has been amazing. They are very hands-on, very attentive, very sweet, and caring. They have several activities there, like bingo and exercising.

I toured Grafton County Nursing Home. It looked very nice, but I didn't go with that place because it's too far from my house. It's also way out in the country, and I lost cell phone signal through most of my journey there. It's almost an hour away. It looks very nice, the rooms were long, there were two beds to a room, and they were arranged head to foot with space in between. They're nice rooms, there's a nice living area, and a nice dining area. The staff was very helpful. There's a living room in each wing, with a TV, so people can mill around, sit, and be comfortable. There was a circular pattern where people could walk, people with dementia who tend to wander could walk around, the living room areas were in the center, and the rooms to the side. I think it's very good for people with dementia. The staff was very good with the people. Watching the staff, they were just terrific with the people that were wandering around.

The facility is large, it has plenty of space for its residents. Certain patients are separated by floors depending on what kind of illness or mental disease they are suffering with. There are nurses and doctors there around the clock to take care of the residents and in case there is an emergency. Everyone is very professional and well trained. They took great care of my great grandmother. The rooms are also plenty spacious but they sometimes have to put two people to a room which can be difficult and it does not offer much privacy for the person who is staying there. The facility has a nice garden and they run it like a community center and try to get the patients to interact together. They also do many fun things around the holidays to get the residents in the holiday spirit. They serve decent food and always have a feast for the residents on Christmas and Thanksgiving. The cafeteria is set up in more of a restaurant style instead of like a school cafeteria, so the residents feel as if they are dining out every night. It is a nice facility.
