I visited Summercrest in Newport. I was able to see that it was very nice and there were newer apartments, but because of the coronavirus I was not able to see all the areas of it. The only person I saw, I don't know if she was the director, but she's the one who showed me the rooms. I wasn't able to see anybody else because of the coronavirus, and people were out and about at that time, so I could not go into all the areas. The staff member who assisted me was very nice and polite. The facility was nice and it was very clean. I think it's a good place.

I visited Summercrest Senior Living. Its a relatively new facility, and we obviously got a good impression. The residents that we saw seemed to be active, engaged, and happy. There were sufficient activities based on the calendar of activities, and the meals appeared to be well-balanced, and there's a big meal at lunchtime rather than a big dinner in the evening. Everyone we met was very considerate, nice, informative, and we would actually consider placing our relatives there. I did not like that there were not a lot of outdoor space for the residents. Basically, theres a parking lot in front and a cemetery in the back. The staff was awesome, spent close to two hours with us, answered all our questions, and gave us the information we needed.

We went to Summercrest. It was very friendly, very clean, and very upbeat. They offered the programs we were looking for and had lots of things listed for their activities. I liked their staff the best.

I toured Summercrest and talked to the people. They were very nice when we sat down and talked to them. They automatically took us on a tour through the facility which was very nice. They had single and semi-private rooms and a very nice set up. They had the rooms all the way from the outside and the inside was where they ate and had their sitting area and TV. Outside, they could do gardening. Everything was a locked facility, so the patients could not get out. They treated us very well. They took time, sat down and explained a lot of different things we did not know. They opened the world to us to find out what we were really interested in finding for my mother. They were really forward and weren’t hiding anything.

Summercrest is a wonderful assisted living facility. The staff treat the residents with such respect and seem to genuinely care about them. My mother refers to them as her other family. The facility itself is clean and spacious and set up like a hotel. There is a beautifully lit dining room on the first floor where residents are served plated food just like at a restuarant. Summercrest is an affordable and meets the needs of my family and provides us with piece of mind, because we know my mother is in great hands.

This could have been the perfect place for my mother. However, there was a little problem with her Medicaid so we are looking for another similar facility. It was really a lovely place. It has roomy rooms not those tiny ones. They were like little apartments with small kitchen and bath. The staff was really nice and residents seem happy there. The only activity I observed while touring this place was some people doing puzzles. We didn't have the chance to taste how the food was either.
