My friend will be moving into The Pines of Newmarket. I find them very caring. I like the integration of all the residents together. I like the layout of it as far as it's in a big circular pattern and the residents can get up and walk the halls and never get lost. I like the inner courtyards where they can go outside and relax in the sun or under a canopy without having to worry about wandering off. The residents we talked to all seemed to love it. It's an older facility, but it seems to be well-maintained. We witnessed the meal when we were there and it looked very good. The bedroom was very spacious.

I toured The Pines of Newmarket. They're very laid back. I mean, they care for all their patients. We walk through and talk to some of the patients. They told us their views on it. They had lunch prepared for us when we got there at noon. They're very nice, and the place is very, very clean. The staff is friendly and ready to do anything for you. They gave us chicken salad sandwiches. They gave us pesto salad. They gave us lemon meringue pie. My husband's diabetic, so they gave him diet food, things that he could eat. So, it was really good.

The Pines of Newmarket gave me a tour of the whole place. It was a nice facility. I liked that it had a smaller number of residents in there, so my mother wouldn't have got lost in the shuffle. The staff was nice. It looked very inviting for the residents. They seemed to be fully engaged in their activities. They had something planned all the time to keep them active. The rooms were nice. Their dining area looked like a big family dining area, not like a cafeteria style. It was very warm and welcoming. It's like you're sitting down for a family dinner.

My sister liked The Pines of Newmarket when we visited it. I thought it was great, but when it came to assessing her money and getting her money, there was no help and I didn't know how to go about it. So, that part was not good for me. Other than that, the staff was very, very nice and very helpful. Everybody was great. The person that met me there actually came to my house and talked to me and wanted to see what I thought and what my concerns were. So, that was good. The rooms were very nice. They said you could bring your own furniture. They had twin beds, but if you give a different-sized bed, you'd have to bring your own sheets and stuff. You could bring in any furniture, like a little refrigerator in your room. Then it had its own bathroom, closets, and furniture. They had a lot to offer. They had music a few times a week, gardening, bus trips, bingo, and crafts. It was appealing to my sister. When she walked into the crafts room, she lit up.

We went to look at The Pines of Newmarket. The gentleman's name was Chris, and he was excellent. He told us all the different levels of care that they had and the different prices for sharing a room or private room. And then he went into quite a bit of detail about the amount of care that my mom would need, starting from the least expensive up to the most expensive. We met a couple of the people living there. One of them toured with us, and she told us all her favorite things and stuff like that. The residents seemed very happy. Everything was very clean and orderly. There was nothing that we didn't like about the place. They were doing a little bit of remodeling, so there were a couple of rooms that were under construction. But other than that, everything was great. I thought the rooms were a perfect size, right from having her own room to sharing a room. There was plenty of room for two patients. The dining area was set up like a restaurant. Some tables had four or six seatings. At the time that we went, I guess they served lunch, so some were already gathered there and chit-chatting with each other. The grounds were very well kept, and it was easy for the patients to go out. There was one area in particular where they could go out that I really liked because it was surrounded by the building itself, so they couldn't wander off or anything like that. We saw the bulletin, and they had bingo twice a week. They have all kinds of activities going on. There were a couple of different seating areas where a group of people were watching TV.

My mom was at The Pines of Newmarket. The staff was very stressed and took long periods to answer calls from the residents. The wait times were about 40 minutes to an hour. There were people yelling for help from their room. It was a poorly run establishment. The staff did not seem happy and the residents did not seem happy either. They need to get more staff and have a total revamping of their training. It's a lower-end facility and so there is less money to go there. The showers were not safe for a handicapped person or for an elderly person that has a walker. Other than that. their maintenance person was very nice and helpful. They also had an activities director who was very pleasant and was doing the best that she could. There were no outdoor things for them to do, but their activities director did color with them and chair exercises and things like that.

We chose Pines of Newmarket because of the activities, the friendliness of the staff, and the details that they gave us when we took the tour, of all the information that they provided for us. We moved my mother-in-law there this month. It has both assisted living and memory care. They're relatively new to us so we don't have a lot of experience with them yet, but they've been wonderful so far. The staff has been very informative and caring. They have a wide variety of food and we're happy with it. For activities, they have exercising, bingo, word games, puzzles, and movies. I don't know all the facilities yet, but they have a hair salon there. They also have nurses and doctors that come in. I think that's wonderful. We're getting what we paid for.

The Pines of Newmarket was a very lovely place. It's clean, people look quite content, and there's a lot available for the patients. It was quite a nice and friendly place. The inside was quite nice, but I didn't like the outside. There didn't seem to be much grounds for the residents. The staff members were all very nice, very knowledgeable, and answered questions. They had quite a few amenities and I saw a schedule of activities. It was a very nice place where I would enjoy taking anyone.

I toured The Pines of Newmarket. No issues there. It was just smaller. It just wasn't a good match for my mom. There was nothing wrong with the facility. The staff was amazing. The resident activity level was a little less engaged, and my mom is a little more social. It was a quieter venue. The rooms were clean. The tour was great. The people were friendly. Everything was good, it just wasn't the right personality match for my mom. Their dining facility is different in that it's kind of a multipurpose room. They use what the dining area is for visitors coming in and they use it for activities. Like everything is kind of dual-purpose because it's small. They only have like 20 residents, so it's a smaller setting. It was nice and clean, but it was just small. It was in a nice area with a lot of apartment complexes. It was a newer area. On the inside, I got a good tour of rooms that were clean and neat, and some examples of how they're furnished. The staff was amazing. The guy that does their admittance and stuff, was phenomenal on follow-up and tour and all of that. It just wasn't a match for my mom, but I didn't have anything unfavorable.

I went to The Pines of Newmarket and we had a walkthrough, we spoke with them, and got some information. It's a little more assisted than I need. As far as assisted living, I really wanted to look for some place that started as independent and then moved to assisted living. They showed us the various room styles, and walked us through the common areas, so it was very nice and very clean. The staff who gave the tour, Cherrie, was wonderful, because I had showed up and it wasn't the correct appointment time, they weren't really prepared for me, but she was more than happy. She introduced us to a couple of the nursing staff and she was extremely pleasant. They had a small exercise group going, which was more just arm weights and stuff like that, and they have a nice common area that's got a fireplace. The location is very private, it's not in the downtown area, and it's kind of in the country a little bit. I like the location, it's not too far out in the boonies, but outside of the city.

I went to The Pines of Newmarket. This was more geared towards people who would need assisted living or memory care, so it's not some place I'd feel comfortable sending my mother to right now. It felt more like a nursing home. It was clean, a little dated, it felt more like a nursing home setting. The staff was very good, and it seemed like they're there for a long time. They screen you before you go in.

I went to The Pines of Newmarket. The staff person that gave us the tour was new and didn't know what he was talking about, and couldn't answer any of our questions. There is no independent living there, and so it was a wasted trip for us. It needs some updating. There isn't a lot of communal space outside. I wasn't impressed. The size of the rooms was OK. The social director was super nice and she did a lot with the residents.

My father moved into The Pines of Newmarket. It was wonderful, and I loved everything about it. He was in quarantine before he passed. The staff was excellent as well.

Where to begin? My mother who had dementia was at this facility for a little over a year. In that time, she was given the wrong meds and had to be hospitalized once. Her room was moved so many times that even I couldn't remember where they had her. When we toured the place were just about guaranteed a bed would become available by the director (April) when her private funding ran out, (her words exactly, "knock on wood, we've never had to refuse anyone a bed"), and sure enough, once her funding ran out they forced her out as well. If you care about your loved one, stay clear of The Pines of Newmarket.

Pines of Newmarket was OK. The rooms were clean, but I think the bathroom was not appropriate for seniors. It had a bathtub that was useless to my mother. They had a common room and a small courtyard, and there wasnt very much outside area for the residents.

My wife was at the assisted living level in The Pines of Newmarket. It was an excellent place and they treated her well while she was there. It's also reasonably located. Her room was a bit small, but very comfortable. They would've provided a television, but she wanted to bring her own, so they allowed her. The meals were basic, but still good.

The Pines of Newmarket was a very good place. I enjoyed the staff and everything I saw there. The rooms were very nice. They had a lot of games, people come in to cut the residents' hair and toe nails, and they had movies. It seemed like a very caring place. I didn’t see any cobwebs, so the place looked clean to me. It is our first choice for Mom, so we are on the waiting list there now.

After caring for my mom for 8 years at home, the time came that I needed to place her in an assisted living facility. After being told by another facility that my mom was "nursing home material", I contacted the Pines. They were so nice and caring. They immediately assessed my mom and made it a seamless transition. The Administration, April, Emilie, Stephanie and Rachelle (LPN) all know their patients and families. The staff cares about their patients. It is like a family. I always felt like my mom was in good hands. When my mom recently passed, the staff was so caring towards us. It was like they lost a family member. I am fortunate that my mom was cared for in her last months so well.

The Pines of Newmarket Senior Living was excellent. The rooms were excellent. I liked everything. It was perfect. The staff was very nice. I didn't see anything wrong. All of the rooms might have been double rooms, and I didn't like that. The price was a little cheaper than the prices at most other facilities. It was clean. Everything was on the first floor.

I visited the Pines of Newmarket and had a very nice tour. The director was very nice and very informative, but it was not affordable for my mom. I only got to see one room that was nice but small. The recreation area was nice, but it was not a good fit for my mother.

Thank you so much for not only taking the time to come in and tour our community but to post a review so that others are able to share in your experience. I am happy to know that although our community was not the right option for your mom, you were left feeling you had a positive experience with our team. We always try to maintain our residents privacy the best we can when giving a tour but certainly appreciate the feedback so we can ensure that everyone touring the community in the future has an opportunity to see the different apartment styles we offer.

The Pines was small, they have shared rooms which wouldn’t work for dad, and they didn’t have a room available for him. The staff seemed to be on top of everybody. It seemed quite cosy, and that was another option I considered for dad. They had a new enclosed courtyard.
Provider Response
Thank you for taking the time to post your review, we value the feedback. I apologize if our private rooms were not discussed during your tour we would happy to discuss our apartment options with you further. Our enclosed courtyard was a wonderful addition to our community that we look forward to being able to use again once the warm weather returns. Again, I appreciate your review and thank you for taking the time to tour our community.

I went to the Pines, but this was not for me. I’m still too coherent to be given pills to sleep all day. I walked in, and there were people sitting in the community gathering area, but they were asleep in their chairs. One guy, they seated him in a wheelchair, and he was so out of it that he couldn’t sit up straight. His legs were all the way out of the wheelchair, and his back was sitting on the seat, so I was like, “Ok, that’s not my cup of tea.” The lady there didn’t know all her stuff.

I visited the Pines of Newmarket. It was small and clean, and they accepted Medicaid. They were sort of a remote location. The rooms were small. It was a quick tour. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

I visited The Pines, and what impressed me about this place was that the environment was lovely, and the people were very caring. They really took time to explain what it is and what is not. When I mentioned that my sister is 54 and that she has a spinal injury and what her needs were, they were very honest with us. They were really trying to give us the information to draw our own conclusion, and I appreciated that honesty. The facility was clean, and it was lovely. It was homey. They allowed us to see a few different room styles, each of which was appointed in a lovely way. The staff knew everyone by name. They made a point to show us the different places where people could go.
