We provide "emotional support" for seniors with dementia, in a home like setting. A Licensed Supported Residential Care Home for Elders with Memory Disorders Located in the beautiful Country Setting of rural Deerfield, New Hampshire. The Inn at Deerfield was established to provide quality care to elders with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. A great deal of research went into the interior design of the building. Colors were chosen that cause the least disturbance to failing sight. The lighting choice was made to decrease shadows. The carpeting is non-impervious to urine and is of a subdues pattern. The residents benefit from the wide halls and doorways. The building features 14 double and 4 single rooms decorated in soft, calming colors. Residents may bring their own furniture, if it will fit safely in the rooms or the Inn has furnishings that can be utilized. Each room has an armoire-style closet with locking doors for day to day clothing. The families are asked to exchange clothing with the seasons as space is limited. Outer clothing is stored in a designated closet so that it is immediately available in an emergency evacuation situation. There is a multifunction dining room for meals and activities, as well as a small dining room where families and friends can enjoy special occasions with their loved ones. Two large living rooms provide space for socializing and spontaneous interaction among the residents. The Inn At Deerfield Inc was very nice, it's very small and homelike. The people there were extremely pleasant. They showed me the whole facility, the outdoor space, the rooms, and the common areas, and I saw the whole thing. The unit that I saw was just a simple room, it was a double and it was just basic. The only thing that's holding me back is that they don't have bathrooms in the residents' rooms, they only have communal bathrooms. The staff that I met there was excellent, I was very impressed by the staff. They had a wonderful attitude, they were very positive, very pro-resident, and very much in tune with the needs of the community. It's a nice place, just not fancy.

I visited the Inn, and it was more staffed like a hospital. It was a very clean and nice place. Everybody was friendly, and I got to talk to some of the staff. It was a little far from us. I wasn’t too crazy about the residents having to wear anklets. I know my mom doesn’t like that. They had a gazebo for outside get-togethers, and that seemed nice. Everyone had windows, so you can set up a flower garden outside, or bird feeders. The nurse station was in the middle so they can get to people when needed. They should have security at the doors instead of anklets.
