My mom is living here and I am so grateful for the staff that work here. Mom feels at home for sure and is very well taken care of. The food, daily fun activities and the warmth of this place makes mom feel right at home. I am comforted knowing that since mom can’t be home, this is the next best place for her.

We were very pleased with The Birches at Concord. If we can't get something close, we might reach out to them and get in contact again. They have called and left a message and we were very happy with that facility. Everything in the facility we liked and I liked that they had private rooms and the rooms were spacious. I also liked that they had different areas in the facility that were decorated very nicely. The part that we did not care for was the parking situation. There was very limited parking. People were parking on the road on the side, and it was hard for us to find a parking area to go visit the facility. Everybody that I came in contact with and spoke to and the girl that gave us the tour, was an absolute five. The residents were having lunch when we were there. Each area had its own kitchen and they were set up very nicely, but it was a little on the smaller side. It would have been tight for different things.

The Birches at Concord was very nice. We did try their food. They invited us to do the tour on a day that they were having Family Day on a Sunday. The administrator there was wonderful. She's helped a lot. It was very clean and a little bit bigger facility, although not as big as the other place. The memory care unit, though, was on the smaller side, which was nice. They had their own salon and things like that in the memory care unit. The rooms were beautiful and looked brand new. They're clean, fresh, and bright. The staff has been very helpful and extremely nice. You can tell that she is very dedicated and she loves what she does and has concern for the residents personally and just only wants the best for them. The food was OK. I'm sure it's difficult to cook for that many people. The dining area was nice, cozy, and clean. I think it might have been set up a little bit differently because they were having a Family Day when we were there, plus it was full of people, so it's really hard to tell. It just seemed crowded, but I'm sure it was just because it was a special day. We walked around outside and it was very nice. They had quite a large area with a walking path, vegetable gardens, flower beds, and things like that.

We went to The Birches at Concord. The facility itself was beautiful. It was clean. The staff that we came in contact with were friendly, and the advisor was very informational. The room is huge, bigger than my bedroom and my bathroom. They were actually at dinner when I went. I know they have several dining rooms. They had a little activity room. They had a little salon, a very spa-like salon type thing. The whole facility was just immaculate. The menu looked really good.

Thank you for this opportunity to let my concerns be known. I believe there needs to be adequate and utilized lifting options of patients and not staff pulling and tugging on a patient. As a patient gets closer to dying they are in pain and all respect needs to be given to that person. My Dad fell almost daily so this was a very big deal to me. He was in pain and dignified lifting with the right equipment would have made all the difference for him. The wheelchair he had was very uncomfortable for him and low. He sat most of the time. The chair was not switched to another with higher back and more comfortable until two days prior to his passing. The staffing was not adequate as many times early on they told me that they did not have the staff to take Dad out for walks much. The food looked good. Most of the staff was kind. I was not impressed at all with the care of my Dad. I would not recommend this facility.

The Birches is very posh and nice. My husband said that the food is good and has quite a variety. I am very happy with the staff, which is really good. They have a lot of silly games and sing-a-longs. They have a bus used to take some trips.

I am impressed with the Birches at Concord because they specialize in Alzheimer’s. The staff was very good. The rooms are very spacious and are private and semi-private. They do some games and activities, like tours down to the local marketplace. My mother has been there for four months now.

I went to The Birches. It was a beautiful place, but the problem is, it was really expensive. The rooms were smaller than the room my mom has now, but the facility itself was great. I wanted to stay for dinner; they had shrimp wrapped in bacon and looked really good. The dining area was beautiful, too. The man who gave us a tour was very nice. He called back a couple of times to check if we had found a place. It was just too expensive. They have memory places on the different floors, too. I didn’t observe too much, but there was plenty to do because you could go walk outside in the sunny sitting area and see all kinds of stuff going on that they had posted. I didn’t see the activities, however; I think I was too overwhelmed with the price and knew it wasn’t going to be an option.
