My mother is at this place now. The cnas on side one are the most caring and hard working ppl. She gets what she needs here. I don't have a problem with anything. The food is not the best but we're not at a 5 star hotel either. Great place

I visited 2 family members at thus center. I have to say that the level of care is mediocre. We were unable to get the basic standard of care needs met, while having family to advocate for the patient. We asked for assistance at 3:30 pm and continued to ask for help. We rang the nurse button and recieved zero response in over half an hour. At 6:00 pm I was told that it is after hours and nothing can be done until 8 or 9 in the morning, everyone was gone. The head lpn of the wing was beyond aweful, told me her supervisor was gone (which was a lie) and said was no longer going to speak with me. If a person treats a family member with zero dignity or respect, how would she treat a patient? We are in the process of filing complaints with our insurance about the facility. It is unfortunate for the two or three decent workers who genuinely care.

I have to say the health care is the best I have seen in a long time. But I will say the food is on level that I would not give to my dog.I know the center gets a set amount of money per person per meal and that amount is not being spent on the FOOD.witch Ihave will look into when I go home.

A friend of mine is at Horizon Health & Rehab Center, and it’s not the greatest place to be. When I’m there, he gets good care, but according to him when nobody is there, he does not get the care he needs. He is in a room by himself; however, they got so much stuff in that room that it’s almost impossible to get him to a chair to his wheelchair to take him outside. They need to get more professional help for their patients. And also according to him, the food is not great.

My brother is at Horizon Specialty Hospital Henderson. The people taking care of him are amazing. The nurses are all so good. The staff there is just amazing, and I can't say enough about how wonderful they've been. It's a rather old facility with no frills. It's very clean. They don't have any fancy things. Predominantly, the staff, nurses, and CNAs are all Filipino. They're all fantastic, so loving, and patient. The nurses there have taken special care of him. The staff is very professional. The place is nicely decorated.

My Mother was moved to this facility after a fall where she fractured her pelvis. She was there for 9 days for rehabilitation and only saw a therapist two times. The food was awful, the facility was understaffed and overall the care was terrible. There were a few of the staff that were pleasant but overall, we were very disappointed with the care that Mom received. Now she is home and we are caring for her until she can be fully independent again.,

My mother was here during her recovery for hip surgery. The staff is very helpful, cheerful and attentive. The rooms are basic but if here for extended period pictures and cards cheer it up. Food is better than some places and not as good as others. Our family feels at ease having our lived one cared for here.

I am in a rehab right now -- Horizon. They are very nice. I have been here almost three months. The room is not really nice, but it is OK. They have activities like Bingo and entertainment. Where I am, the rooms have been just remodeled. The staff is very good. I think their therapy could be a bit more aggressive. I had a stroke, I cannot use my left hand, and my left side has been impaired, so they give me so much time at therapy, and that therapy is not very aggressive.

I arrived at this supposed care facility to see my friend from church and was immediately concerned that other people I care about would be driving to this neighborhood as well. A building nearby had crime scene tape and there was trash all over the block. Then I went inside to be greeted by a smell that smacked me in the face and immediately made me aware that this building was old and poorly cared for and that likely my friend would not be cared for either. I would not leave my dog in a kennel that dirty, yet I was suppose to accept this place for my family in god. If that was not insult enough the room was a closet sized space shared by another ill person with old tape all over the walls and broken furniture with no television or phone and had a rusty metal bed with a crank at the end to adjust her head or feet up. I had no chair to sit and speak to my friend. I walked to an area that a man said was the nurses station and tried to ask about my friend and was ignored, as the person in a nurse outfit complained about having to go give the drug addict his pain medication. I now knew more than I wanted about the nurses troubles with this other poor senior in this place. I tried to stay focused and asked if they had my friends sons' name and was told if I was not family I would have to call him myself. I then asked about a chair and was told to look in rooms until I found one. I choose to stand rather than invade others privacy. My friend cried and said no one would help her to the bathroom and she had not been able to reach her son. I pushed her call light which was tucked in the broken night stand drawer out of her reach. She is sick alone with no way to reach her family or to ask for help. I tried to get her help for 45 minutes until a staff who came in after I begged for help in the hallway, This person had a heavy accent and was hard to understand. They seem to scold us for asking for help because they said they we working short without enough staff. Her roommate asked about calling her daughter and they told her 'no that she doesnt want your calls all day long'. I prayed with my friend for everyone in this place and to open the hearts of the people in charge to close this place before they hurt more people. I called my friends son and got our frined to safety at a nice place. The hospital let this happen, her son trusted a discharge planner that suggested this place. They should all be ashamed. They should all be forced to stay in that place with no way to leave or get help. My heart is sad for our seniors that need medical care at Desert Lane Care Center. Stay awayuntil the state or someone closes this hell hole!
