My mom is at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center. We have not been to the place because of COVID. We placed her blindly there because back in April, when she had a stroke, that was the only place that would take patients who did not know their COVID status. We've been pleased with her care, but of course, it has been shut down to visitations ever since she was placed there. As far as I can tell through a window visit or the written reports we get, she is fine. I, as an RN, would like to see mom's skin, and I would like to be able to hands-on assess her, but I cannot do that. But they are doing a good job. They are following CDC guidelines like they are supposed to, and the staff are in full PPE. They had a couple of outbreaks amongst the staff which got to the patients and residents, but they did not have any COVID in the building for probably until September, so I think they did a hell of a job. They answer my questions and they call us if there is an issue.
