I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I was very impressed with the staff @ Old Cheney Rehab. Coming from 400+ miles away + knowing how difficult it is to care for folks who can’t always care for themselves. I was initially very inspired with the positive attitudes of all the staff. PT was encouraging. OT chewed mom out for putting 2 of the same colored beads in the cones at the same time while standing. . I explained she was just being efficient while standing when her legs were weak r/t lack of use for 3 years post initial stroke, then fractured hip. OT was 5

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Old Cheney was far and away a better facility than where my mother was before. It was bright and cheerful. The staff and the nurses got to know her personally and the caseworker went above and beyond to help get us into the facility, then to help get us out, and to help the experience be as smooth as possible. There were a few glitches, but the social worker did his absolute best. He did what he could do to help answer my questions and to guide me as to what I needed to do next for my mom. He was a huge help. The facility had lots of natural light, and it was clean and up-to-date. It's only about a year old. They had a library for the residents, nice-sized rooms, and different sunrooms that they can sit in. The dining room was pleasant and they can order pretty much whatever they want and cater to the residents' individual choices of what they would like to eat. The physical therapist could be a little bit more diligent in what they do and sometimes the overnight nurse aides were slow to respond according to my mother. I love this place.
