My sister was in this facility for several months after a fall down her stairs that led to severe breaks in both legs. She was in traction for most of her time at Homestead, relying totally on staff for even basic needs. She developed bedsores, was left with soiled clothes when calls for bathroom assistance were either delayed or unheeded.

My grandmother was moved to Homestead for therapeutic rehabilitation from receiving a pacemaker at a local hospital. In the midths of the 7 days she was there before we moved her to a different facility we found Homestead to be lacking in a few important areas. My grandma told us she was denied dinner for "complaining" because she asked where she went to eat dinner. We found her in the same clothes that she had on 2 days prior. Besides taking her for walks around the facility there was no other therapy on the records or that she could tell us that she was receiving. Another night for dinner the sandwiches they made had mayo already on it, she explained to the staff she doesn't eat mayo, they told her to either eat it or leave it. If it had not been for her family calling and coming by and checking in on her every day she would of missed 2 meals in the 7 days she was there. Her Case Work was clueless about the therapy she was receiving. Every time I went to visit her they had patients in wheel chairs in the hallways asleep and not strapped into the wheel chairs. Hand Sanatizers were empty for at least 24 hours meaning staff members weren't using the sanitizer or changing it out. Nurses never seemed to be busy, usually at the nurses desk sitting down, trying to stay awake. For a Rehab facility there was not a lot of rehab going on. Besides the sleeping patients in the wheel chairs the halls are empty. Would NOT suggest this place to anyone, would actually detour people away from Homestead.

Homestead is not a great place. It’s a big facility that's not very old but not very modern either. I’m satisfied with the cleanliness of the place. They need to improve on the services, and they take a long time to respond to the residents. I think they’re short on staff, and the staff could be more friendly.

My father had terminal cancer and spent his last few days there at Homestead. Also, my grandma has lived there for almost five years. I have only good things to say about the quality of care there. The facility is very clean and the staff care so much about the residents. They treat residents like family.
