I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was a resident from December, 2015, to March 6, of this year. Amy and her excellent staff took exceptional care of my dad. We had some trepidations when we were considering moving my dad, but, after seeing the compassionate care he was provided, we knew he was in the best place for him. And they continued to give him the upbeat, one-on-one treatment he needed, up until the day he died. Robert Lamb

    I am/was a resident of this facility

The staff at Golden Living are top notch! I received excellent care and the therapy was outstanding. I attribute my fast recovery to Golden Living, they did a wonderful job!

I think the facility was very nice. Some people are not fans of nursing homes because the person living there basically loses all reason to live. I find this not true. Both of grandparents spent the last parts of their life there. They were not able to provide for themselves anymore, so they got the help from nurses at the center. The people were very nice to them and they were able to meet many new people. There were always little parties for the residents to keep their spirits up. There was always a wide variety of food for everyone. There was also people around to help whenever anyone need a little extra attention. All these reasons are why I believe nursing homes are the right decision for the elderly that can no longer do the things they have always been able to do around the house. Nursing homes are a good thing.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Assisted living facilities have always given me a bad vibe. As a child, I always remember being frightened to visit family members in one. However, three years ago my grandfather passed away and moving my grandmother into an assisted living facility for the winters just made the most sense to my mom and uncle. At first I disagreed, because of my grandmothers strong feelings towards staying home; however, it turned out to be the best decision for her. This summer she was permanently moved into the assisted living facility and I couldn't be happier with her care. Although I know my grandmother would rather be in her own home, I have found that the staff and volunteers have done a great job at making this permanent stay an easy transition for her. The staff and nurses are always very welcoming and friendly. Both the assisted living facility and nursing home are always very well maintained and clean. I can rarely reach her on the phone line in her room because she is always participating in activities or playing games with her friends. I would give the Golden Living Center a 5 Star rating; they have definitely earned it!

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I had a family member living in this facility who never had any complaints about the residence. He was closely watched by the staff which was a relief to us. It allowed us the comfort of mind. Many residents played cards and games in the lounge area. The staff was also extremely nice to the residents. However, I did feel as though the rooms were very small. This sometimes made it uncomfortable for my family to visit. I also think as a resident it would be difficult to feel at home. Besides having a lounge area there didn't seem to be that many amenities that would make this place stand out above the rest. Upon arrival there never seemed to be much excitement or energy in the building. Perhaps this is common in assisted living centers. This facility may not be the best available, but being in a small populated area it was reasonable. They took great care of their residents even though their amenities and facilities may not have been the most up-to-date.
