Primrose has a very qualified, caring staff. The rooms at this facility are very homey, well maintained and kept clean. They have several activities for the residents, happy hour every Friday, ice cream on Sundays, PT is available at the facility and they keep the residents informed if the food is acceptable. I highly recommend this facility

Mom is at Primrose Retirement Community of Grand Island. She had a friend that lived there before so she was just familiar with it and comfortable with the idea of going there. They have options for one and two-bedroom apartments while some of the other places we looked at had rooms that were more like a suite. They have a good number of activities. They have P.T. and O.T. on site. They have bistro-style dining as well as regular meals in the dining room. They provide transportation to appointments. They have an onsite salon, a movie theater, an ice cream parlor, and a pub. They also have what they called Primrose Senior University, which is they have speakers come in to talk about different topics. They have masses and church services at the chapel. They have exercise classes, games, entertainment that comes in periodically, and outings. The facility has a nice layout and there's a lot of space just to be able to walk and exercise in the hallways. They keep it clean. They provide weekly cleaning and laundry. Residents can control their own temperature in their apartments. So, they have their own thermostat. The staff has been friendly and caring. The food has been good, too. They have a standard menu where you can choose two different entrees per meal, but then they also have bistro dining where you can order from a menu. It's got hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, soup, and breakfast any time of the day from 7 to 7.

My mom moved to Primrose Retirement Community of Grand Island. The staff is very kind and caring. On the independent side, she gets two meals a day, then they have an exercise room where she has exercise classes every day. They have a pub, like a bar, a movie theater, a game room, and an ice cream social room. Their food is fabulous. There's an exercise class every day, there's adult coloring, they have groups that come in and perform, they have bridge, and cocktails on Fridays. They have a movie theater with movies on weekends and church services. Her room has a full kitchen with a washer and dryer.

I attended the Primrose Retirement Community of Grand Island for my great grandmother 96th birthday party and my overall experience was one that consisted of mostly positive things. The facilities were very nice and up-to-date. They allowed us sufficient room for the party and the chairs and table were already set up. We brought in the birthday cake and drinks, they did not provide them. Many people attending and it was a very nice birthday party. My only complaint was that there was a lack of staff involvement during and after the party. For example, they didn't help serve, clean-up or do the little things like show people where the restrooms were. The party lasted well over 4 hours and the staff was not trying to push us out as it got close to dinner time, like most retirement communities would. Great job Primrose I will definitely come back and visit if I get the chance.
