My uncle is in Mt. Vernon Place Care Center. It's an excellent place. The people there are extremely nice and caring. They're very concerned about COVID. You have to wear one of their masks. They keep you up-to-date on what's going on by calling you, if you're on the list. The place is clean. I was very impressed. The food (most of the time) is very good. My uncle wears dentures, so he has a little harder time eating sometimes. He's been happy. We take him snacks and everything. They're very tough on COVID, and they require you to wear a mask. Once we found them, they got him in within three days. They have beds, and they take Medicaid. There wasn't anything like paying cash upfront. Whomever was helping us when we got him in, she was at home. We did a conference call from there on the phone to get him in. Their staff is extremely nice and very helpful. It's almost as if they go out of their way. The only thing he complained about was powdered eggs once in a while for breakfast, but all the nursing facilities will use powdered eggs. He wears dentures. If he complains that he couldn't chew something, they will go get him something else. They don't let him go hungry. He's on Medicaid, so I couldn't tell how much they charge. I know they've got private pay, Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. They've got hospice, respite, and adult care. If you're home and you're taking care of a loved one, you can drop them off there, go do what you need to do, and come back and get them. They've got lots of good things there.
