I recently placed a loved one in this facility. The decision was not easy. I live in SC. The staff was attentive and caring. They called me with updates. Whenever i contacted them they were there willing to answer all of my questions. I am so appreciative of everyone . The social worker called me, the activities director called me, the nurses called. I am impressed.

Bentonview Park would take my husband, but I didn't like the interviewer. I didn't stay there long enough to find out anything. I just went to the rooms. It's not dirty, but it seemed to be overcrowded. I didn't have a good feeling. The rooms were like a normal small double room with two beds in it. The place didn't smell.

My brother was admitted in October 2016 and will be moved to the Missouri Soldiers home in just a few days. I had serious concerns about this facility after reading the reviews. I soon discovered that they have recently changed the management staff and started making improvements. I have visited regularly over the last several months and they are improving the facility and overall personnel. It is now much cleaner, better maintained, and the all the staff seem eager to help in any way. Compared to many other facilities I would recommend this one; I would not hesitate to stay there if needed. It's not the Ritz Carlton but if you are on a budget its above the average.

Please if you love your parents or whoever your loved one is please never put them here. It is horrible the staff is rude. Mostly the food is an identifiable. This is been the saddest thing I have ever gone through. Overall they have received one star out of five? How this place is even still open God only knows! After my dad has been here a month he has already acquired a pressure sore on his bottom. He has fallen several times now not only having a hard time walking he is in a wheelchair due to a broken arm. They let him lay in the bed or a week before sending him to an orthopedic doctor. He then developed an infection in his bone.

There is never an excuse to be rude to an elderly patient! I was in there for the first time visiting a family friend and I was so surprised to see a nurse arguing loudly with a elderly woman! I actually had to step in to say this was not appropriate behavior towards an elderly person! All I could think about is how bad are they when people are not looking? There were some very nice workers also but they seemed timid when asked questions. I think "UNDERCOVER BOSS" is what this place needs because I can not imagine the owner condoning the bad behavior that goes on in this home. it also smells in there and I had a lady ask me if I could get her a bath she had not been cleaned in 4 days.. I really hope they get more good help in this place these patients really need better care

The thing that bothers me the most is watching patients that need help with their food at dinner time. One of the patients has a illness that causes her to thrash around. She spills her beverages etc. and I've watched her roll around the room in her wheelchair begging for help. They tell her later. She gets food everywhere and I've seen them leave the mess on the table until her next meal. It is not the staff's fault. They are understaffed. It is not a warm atmosphere. Patients are put in the hallway. Not much stimulation. I've seen urine dripping out of the chairs. My loved one has had several urinary tract infections. They went a year with no hairdresser. Getting your hair done makes you feel better about yourself. The staff is nice and they do the best they can.

Was considering placing a family member here until I visited. Very run down. Recent painting in some areas could not hide how poorly maintained the facility is. Ceiling actually peeling away, ready to fall in some areas. Have large shower/bathing rooms but not one of the several tubs in the facility worked nor were there any plans to get them fixed, from speaking with staff. One bathroom had tiles and drywall falling down. Food did not look very appetizing and I noticed that residents that obviously needed help eating were not given that help, were taken from the dining area without any staff helping them to eat; most had most of their meal still on the plate. Staffing seemed out of proportion to the number of residents, hectic atmosphere. Nurses looked anxious, when I tried to ask questions staff really seemed flustered, ill prepared to talk or address concerns. Male residents not shaved, for several days it appeared in some cases. Soiled (i.e.urine, or worse) residents. Strong " smells" in facility. We elected to put our family member elsewhere, even though we have to drive a lot farther to see them.

when visiting for a poss family member placement, I found the building to be very run down, water spots indicating leaks throughout. asked about it and was told that leaks are an ongoing problem!? staffing seemed very bad, very hectic. not a calm, welcoming atmosphere at all. one lpn and three assistants for over 40 people. the patients looked ill kept, dirty, men not shaved. wheelchair patients just parked and left in hallways with nothing to do, some were visibly wet (urinated on themselves), smell of bowel movement. ultimately decided to place my family member elsewhere.

The facility is the cleanest facility I have ever been in. My husband is there and I could not ask for better care from ALL the staff. They are friendly, courteous and compassionate. We are getting ready to bring him home Aug. 18. My questions have been answered very well by the staff and therapy departments. I would also like to say that Caring.Com is played a major role in my decision by the people who answered questions, gave advice and had been there in my position before and how they handled it. Thanks to everyone
