My Mother, who will be 82 yrs old on Jan 31st, is totally blind and can not hear without hearing aids. We had to let her go to a nursing home in October. The problem is that the nursing home washed both of her hearing aids and dried one of them. They are ruined, Mom can't hear and won't communicate now, doesn't know when one of her children come to see her, and is in poor health. We have tried to get the nursing home to fix or replace her hearing aids, but they refuse. We are trying everything we can to remedy this, but so far we have had no luck. All of mom's daughters are devastated by this. We feel the nursing home has taken mom's loved ones away from her because she doesn't know when one of us is there.

Everybody was very professional. The halls and room was clean and didnt smell. my mom was very happy and comfortable there. the staff was helpful when needed, and very friendly too. the only complaint that we had was that there was not enough food for her to eat based on the meal plan for her, she didnt like some of the food. but when we talked to the staff about it we were able to work it out that she could get more when she needed for medical reason. the process was easy, and the exit was great as well. they welcomed her back anytime needed and she would love to go back there if needed. the facility was very close to my home and was also close to the center of the community. great people and staff were a plus, and the location was even better. the out door area was very pertty that time of year, and we were able to go outside when we were there visiting her. she also like that she could call me anytime that she needed or wanted, and that the staff would let her. great communication skills from the staff, and were great on keeping me up to date on info from doctors. i would recomend going to north cause this was one of the best experince that we had with my mom..

Some of the staff seemed friendly and seemed to know a few of the residents on a personal level. The atmosphere was very plain and almost hospital like. The rooms were shared with only a curtain for seperation. No carpet and plain walls. The beds were very uncomfortable. The residents there were what made the visit very enjoyable. A group of them would randomly start singing a song all together and seemed very happy. It was nice to watch their interactions with each other. There was a maintenance guy working the night of our visit who was very nice. He acknowledged each and every one and seem to know them on a personal level. Watching him raz the female residents was very enjoyable. Also a female med passer came through and had a very pleasing joking nature about her which everyone seemed to enjoy. I would just like to see the place warmed up a bit. Maybe better beds and a area rug along with some colorful curtains would help.
