Amanda. Josh and Chris are working very hard on improvements. We have a few residents doing things to help. We now have a wall of honor for our great veterans. It is very quiet here, overall clean and repairs to parking lot in progress. I think anyone should look at this complex.

I went to Connect55+ Independence and met with the manager, Amy. She was just very enjoyable and very friendly. She gave me a walk-through of the one and two-bedroom apartments, but I believe the one-bedroom was already taken. For the price, it is well worth it. They have a gym. It's very independent. If you're in good health and everything, it is a great place to live. I looked at the one-bedrooms and they were pretty spacious. They have a nice closet and liked that they have a separate laundry in the apartments. The kitchens were pretty modern. I was just impressed with the whole thing. It was very clean and very neat. To me, parking is everything. I'm 67 and I'm very active. I come and go, so the parking lot has to be pretty well-lit, and I would feel very safe living there.

I went to Connect55+ Independence and the young lady immediately started waiting on me. She showed me two different sizes of units. There you pay for water, internet, cable, and trash. You pay for your electricity because it is all electric. The apartments are not really big. The smaller one she showed me is $1,175, but it still had a washer and dryer in there. It's an open floor plan where you have the kitchen. It has a small living room and then there's a balcony. All of the apartments have balconies. They could accommodate me immediately. If I had all the money, I could move in tomorrow. It's not far from a freeway. There's shopping and places to eat. It's a very nice, bright, sunshiny area, and it looks quiet. The people that I met were very nice and accommodating. They have a dining area. They don't feed you every day, but they do have occasions where they have meals.

Connect55+ Independence has lots of different activities for seniors. There are exercises and games, like bingo and Wii bowling. The people here are very friendly. The staff is very accommodating. The apartments are good. Cable TV is included and a refrigerator and dishwasher.

My mother really loved Connect55+ Independence, so that's what she's going with. We chose it because of the whole appearance of the place, the cleanliness of the place, how nice the rooms were, and especially Amanda, who gave us the tour that works there in the leasing office. She was amazing. While we were in there, we saw other women the same age as my mom that were enjoying playing games and stuff. My mother felt so comfortable when we looked through there that she was like, "This is what I want to be." The staff was very personable, very helpful, very knowledgeable, and just overall a very nice person. The facility itself was great and in great shape. My mom doesn't really need anything. She's pretty much self-sufficient, but they did have a calendar of events for every single day that she could attend and participate in and get to meet other seniors, so that was great. Another great thing is this had a great price range. It was just perfect for my mother.

The property has gone down and is in a state of decay, Potholes big enough to damage cars, huge stains on hall carpets, and roaches. There is a reason for the numerous empty apartments, people have been moving out in droves. They have gone through around 6 managers in the last year. The one thing you can count on is the yearly increase in rent. Built in 2014 and the same carpet in your apartment from then and it shows, years of stain buildup from years of prior tenants.

I toured Connect55+ Independence. It's a newer building, about the same age as the one I'm in now. The square footage for each apartment is a little smaller than what I have here. They have a large turnover of management, and they can't seem to find someone who really interacts well with the residents. Their activities are about average for a senior building. They have fewer socializing opportunities than we do in the building here. They don't have an organized activity director, I don't believe. The facilities were clean and well kept. Nothing spectacular, just very utilitarian.

My mom has moved to The Springs at Independence. It's very clean, and the apartment is a nice size for my mother. She likes the number of activities they have daily too, which is what she needs. She needs to be around people and the people there are nice. It's also in a great location being far, but not too far from us. It's independent living so they don't provide food there. They just have activities. She has a kitchen in her unit too so she can cook her own food. For activities, they have people come in for entertainment. They could do bingo, have coffee, and have conversations. They have puzzles, and movies that they can rent, and they also do walks. They have a gym and an activities room that's on the second floor as well. They're going through a manager change right now so they don't have a manager yet. It's kind of hard to get in contact with someone regarding my mom. I'm her power of attorney so that's a little frustrating. It's not perfect but it's been good.

I've moved back to The Springs at Independence Age. It's a fifty-five-and-older community. It's wonderful. I have a two-bedroom apartment with two baths. It has a complete kitchen, but it doesn't have an ice maker or a garbage disposal. I have two bedrooms with a clothes closet and a linen closet. I have a stackable washer and dryer. I have a full-size bath with a step-in shower and then a half bath with a toilet and a vanity as you come in the apartment. All the closets are walk-in closets. I also have a balcony, and I get a view of the other side of the property. I'm physically challenged. I'm in a power chair because I'm an amputee, and I didn't realize until now that I actually can't take my power chair to the balcony to go out to get some sun if I want. I might be able to go out, but my power chair had to be lifted to be able for me to come back in. So, I'm looking at the management to see if they could work out some kind of a ramp to help me be able to do that. Other than that, everything else is very doable. I have taken off the doors to the bedroom, the main bathroom, and the closets so I won't run into the doors with my power chair when I have my foot plate down. They have linoleum tiles in the kitchen and the bathrooms but not in the entryway. There's carpet throughout both bedrooms and the living area to the entryway. Personally, I would rather have a wood floor that has vinyl on top, but that's not what they have here. I've requested to have them remove the carpet, but that would have to be at my expense, and I can't afford that. They do community activities, but right now it's at a minimum of what they usually do. With the pandemic, we still have to wear masks. When I moved in two weeks ago, we were having everybody who delivered anything except for food products leave it at a table. Now deliveries from stores and packages come to our apartment, and they knock at the door. The manager is very nice and very knowledgeable, and she tries to get things done as best as she can. There's no food, but we have a stove, a refrigerator, and a dishwasher. We have to cook for ourselves or have deliveries sent to us.

The Springs At Independence is very clean, beautiful, and has a very friendly atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and willing to accommodate issues. They have a dining area, but they don't provide food. They had a billiard room, exercise room, and library. My parents-in-law moved in last May.

I just moved in and really love it here. The manager is very nice and really helped me out. I would definitely recommend especially since they allow pets.

The Springs was very nice and a little cheaper, but it was strictly independent, and they didn't have transportation to take us to the stores if we couldn't drive. They had exercise rooms with machines, and washers and dryers in the apartments. The room sizes were a little larger. It was farther away from where I live, but easy to get to. They had areas where you could go outside and sit on patios or chairs to enjoy the outdoors.
