We had to put Mom in a dementia unit at Livingston Manor Care Center. We chose it because it's small and affordable, it is a dementia unit, and it's in her hometown. It's an older place, but it's clean. The staff is caring and professional. They have someone come in to do their hair. They have a courtyard and a common dining area. It's priced well for what we've seen. It's a smaller town, so there's a pretty good- sized hospital, restaurants, hotels, and stuff.

My father went to Livingston Manor nursing home in Chillicothe. Due to COVID-19, it was very restricted. We got to see him one time outside his room at his window. I think they need a ramp up there. He was a fall risk, and I don't think he took the care that he needed for the short period that he was there. I will never put another person in there. I would never recommend it to anybody because this is not the only family member that has not ended well at Livingston Manor. He was in the dementia unit, but he also had multiple myeloma, and he was a fall risk when he went in. He was in quarantine for 14 days. His room was small, but we didn't get in, so I couldn't really evaluate that. It had a bed, a sink, and a chair. He didn't like the food, and he didn't get to participate in any of the activities because he was quarantined. I know their shorthanded, but I know everybody's shorthanded right now. The outside area was neat and kept clean, there was no clutter, and it was well manicured. When you walk in the door, you got the nurse's desk, and the office, and you see the dining area and the hallways. It's a nursing home, so it's not very friendly feeling. The dining area was open and clean.

My husband was in Livingston Manor Care Center before he passed away. They took good care of him as they could have. They let me come and stay with him the last four days of his life. They gave him a private room. Most of the staff was very nice, I had a couple that I thought were not as good as they could have been.
