Oak Pointe is very nice, but it is pretty expensive. The rooms are very nice because it's new. The staff is very nice. I didn't get to go into the dining area because of their lockdown, but they took me to one of their rooms. It was a one-bedroom, and the layout was very nice. The facility was very clean, too.

I visited Oak Pointe of Carthage. It was incredible. That was my first choice, but they didn't have the 24-hour service my dad needed. I would give them a five plus in everything from what I saw. They were amazing people. It was amazing, and the people too. Everything about it was nice. When you walked in, it smelled of home-cooked food. They were cooking, and the smell there was not that bad smell that you get at the other places. Had they been able to give my dad what he needed, we would have chosen that one hand down. They offered home-cooked meals, taking food to my dad, and feeding him in his room. If he needed that, he would have had a private room. We would have brought his own furniture. They offered all kinds of activities and stuff. They spent a lot of time with me going over everything. Since they couldn't help me, they helped me to find something and go further beyond them. They even actually called to check on my dad. So, their entire staff, the facility, everything, I just got a really warm, caring feeling about it.

The staff at Oak Point of Carthage was really friendly. It's all-inclusive with the utilities and meals, it's a very nice, and an aesthetically pleasing place. The rooms are a really good size, and they have safety features, which is a big deal for us. I ate there twice, and both times the food I had was exceptional. I still do feel like there's room for improvement there, and the price is expensive.

Oak Pointe is brand new, and they have two laundry facilities, a beauty parlor, and an indoor courtyard where they can plant things. They had their choices between suites where there is 2-bedrooom, 1-bedroom, and studio apartments. There were two areas where you could visit with family and redo the rooms so that you can design. There was another area with the kitchen that you can bring food, bake, and cook with your loved ones in a family setting. They have transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, and they plan outside activities where they pick classes for the residents to do day trips. The staff was there to help us, and they now know us by face as we have been there so many times to ask questions and tour the facility. They are more than willing to work with the family other than the residents. They provide each resident with Life Alert.
