My mother-in-law will be moving into Strong River Villa Assisted Living. It's almost like staying at a private hotel. It's got large rooms, it's clean, and it's got a big seating area. They take care of them, and they provide three meals a day. I'm very impressed. I also know people that have been there, so I was already aware of it. It's self-pay and it is a reasonable rate. It's like $3250 a month and you just supply their personal needs and they supply everything else and you can come and visit any time. I have friends whose loved ones have been there, and they've always been happy. It's better than any Holiday Inn or anything. The rooms were huge and clean. Nothing smelled of odor. They had a big open bay room or a place where they can see outside. I would live there. I wouldn't have to cut grass or anything. They have lots of walking space. They said that my mother-in-law could bring a dog to her room, and they also had a place where they could walk the dog outside. They said they have a place where they feed the birds, and they could sit in the bay window and watch the birds. They do bingo days, and on Wednesdays, they have a man that comes in and sings with them, and they have different TVs according to what they like. If you need somebody to take them to an appointment, they will schedule that, but it's an extra fee. They will give you the names of people that will do that for you. There's some type of activity every day and they can choose to participate or not participate. There are people there that are not able to get around, but their mind is clear. A lot of them just want to stay in their room, but the staff said the ones that have dementia or Alzheimer's want to get out and socialize more, so it's up to them. Every room has its own private large shower. It has a place for your TV, but you have to bring your own television, and your bed, and you can bring in a chest of drawers. Some people rent furniture for $40 a month, but most people want their own things.
