I came for a visit at brookdale. The place is very homey and all the staff are super nice. The one thing I notice is the buildings upkeep on the outside could use more TLC!!

Brookdale Winona is very homey. The population area is small. There are probably less than 20 people at that place. Everyone we met was quite nice. They filled in all the blanks. They all had good answers to my questions. My only problem with it was its location. It's in a very busy area of this little town and I prefer a little more greenery with fields and trees.

Brookdale Winona was way too tiny with way too small rooms. It was nice and had a lot of activities. The dining area was very nice. You can eat the food there or in your room.

We had a really visit at Brookdale Winona. We liked that it was small, friendly and personable and that it had a view of nature. However, we felt that it was place that wouldn’t be a good fit for my father because it wouldn’t be stimulating enough for him. The whole idea of having just a small room and a public area didn’t feel like a situation that he would be happy with.

My mom lived in Brookdale Winona. I liked the fact they did not have a kitchenette, and they all went to a dining room and ate their meal. She picked out her room, and I thought they were surprised at the one she picked because she picked out one that looked at neighboring homes with bushes, birds and stuff, where she had the option of choosing one where she could see grass and beautiful trees. We set it up like her little corner in her own home. She never liked bingo, but she played bingo there, and she always ended up winning a lot like granola bars and things like that. The services were good. They had like assistant for what they thought that she needed. They kept an eye on her. I thought they could (do) some updating. Like when she was looking out the window, I thought they could have cleaned the windows. The little thing like the closet door, I could tell that it was a little worn. Most of the floors were carpeted, so it was almost like she had to learn how to walk again. She came from a place where she was basically walking on her own by herself, but when she started out at Brookdale, she had to go back to using the walker, and we were assuming it was because of the carpeting.

When I walked in the door here I felt very warm, comfortable, and safe. It was a very nice place. The rooms were clean, but small. The food was fine. I mean, I am not a picky eater. It was also very comfortable to be in their dining room. It was very clean, but it didn't have that bleached smell to it like they were trying to cover something up, and it just seemed to be a very nice, warm, and welcoming place.

It seemed a really nice place. I think it is more set up like a nursing home rather than an assisted living apartment. Their location is really wonderful. It is close to other services like hospitals or shopping malls, but it is also situated along the wooded area so that some of the views in the backyard seem like you're in with nature. The number of staff there is pretty high, and the residents look pretty happy there. They are very friendly. I don’t remember a lot of activities, but I know they have a library, and they do some chair exercise classes regularly.
