Ecumen CountrySide's staff is very good. It's a three-story building with two wings. My mom is in independent living but they do basic checks on her like when she doesn't come to lunch. They have various activities and people coming in to sing, exercise classes, afternoon social, and morning coffee break. They're also raising money for a path around the building so they have things like auctions or bake sales for that. They also have a van that could take the residents to appointments or shopping. They have those lifeline type things that Mom wears around her neck that if she falls, she just pushes the button and somebody there's right away. Their meals are very good.

Ecumen CountrySide is large and a very good facility. It is new and beautiful. The apartments are spacious and with more privacy. It has lots of communal space. There are a lot of activities at this facility. I would certainly recommend this facility. They have a gym, among many other amenities.

CountrySide was very nice; it was decorated well. We did sit in the dining area and visited with the person there, and it was very pleasant. The rooms were fine; they had different sizes of apartments.

Our family, our grandmother included, really liked Countryside as not only a place to live, but as a place to belong. It offered both independent and assisted living options so we knew as out grandmother's health declined and she needed more help. This was perfect for us because most of the family lives 45 minutes away. The staff was very friendly and everyone knew the residents names, including the groundskeeper. Each time we would visit the staff would know who we were and who we were going to see. This was a very personal connection and I felt the staff really cared. The staff also hosted events for the residents almost daily. Bingo, movies, theme parties, and many other activities helped my grandmother to stay sharp and happy. We did dine there on occasion and I have to say the food was pretty good. I remember going to other retirement homes to see my great grandmother and that food was slop compared to the pork chops and stuffing, spare ribs, fried chicken, and other real meals we had at countryside.
