My parents moved into Brookdale North Oaks about a month ago. The staff is great. They're good with the patients, the residents. They understand how to deal with people with memory issues. And, the food is a big deal. When I vetted a senior living, I knew the food would be a big deal. Also, I was looking for a place that had an area where they could go outside, a patio of some type, and Brookdale had two. So that's good. Also, they had one of the bigger rooms, which was the deciding factor when it came down to two different places as we were placing both of them at the same time. The facility is great. The dining area is not just a bunch of tables and chairs. They have it set up like a restaurant. They used tablecloths on the tables that give it a warmer feel, less industrial or commercial feel than some other places that they've been in.

I toured Brookdale North Oaks. It was bright and clean. The marketing person was very helpful and gave me a good tour and gave me good information. I saw the activity director who was giving a talk about something to a large group of residents, but they didn't seem very engaged.

We liked Brookdale North Oaks. It seemed like a nice, clean, kind of bright facility. They had courtyards which are pretty nice for people to get outside. The rooms were decent-sized. They showed common areas, places where you could have a birthday celebration or that type of thing or if they had family come, and bathroom shower areas they set up separately from the rooms just for safety purposes. Everything looked good.

Brookdale North Oaks is very nice. The rooms are kind of in little groupings or areas, and then they do activities in those small little areas, they kind of call them neighborhoods. The rooms are nice, they're kind of like a studio type of apartment where it just has a room for the bed, a private bathroom, and an area where you could put some chairs. They're not big, but they're nice. The staff was very friendly. The dining area is very nice, it's one big dining area for the whole building, but it's a relatively small area. They all eat together in the same room. The facility is very nicely kept up and very clean and nice.

Keep your loved ones far away from this facility. The incompetency of so many employees is not to be believed. The very first day my dad was there, they checked his medical records and ordered every single prescription or supplement he had used in the past several years, even though he wasn't on any of them anymore. We got a bill for $1700 because they didn't bother to ask us if he actually used any of them. We're still fighting the bill for this 6 months later. Also, they can't keep employees very long. We've been dealing with admin people there regarding the bill but there have been at least 3 different people in the position in a very short time, and none of them seem to know what's going on. We keep getting bills for all kinds of different amounts, including $0. When we try to call someone to find out what we actually owe, no one returns the calls. If we show up at the facility, the admin person is not in. The corporate office sent a letter stating we had 5 days to pay an invoice (that now has a late fee of $250) or it will go to a collection agency; however, after speaking with someone in the corporate office, it had already been sent to a collection agency a while ago. The person I spoke to at the corporate office placed the blame 100% on my family, even though we have tried repeatedly and have gone to a lot of trouble to find out what we actually owe and to get rid of amounts we never should have had to pay in the first place. These people have no compassion, common sense or integrity.

My husband has already been established at Brookdale North Oaks. They have a friendly staff and it's reasonably clean. The rooms are nice. They have exercise class and music, my husband doesn't want to be involved but they have activities every day. They go on a circle and they do exercises and sing, everybody's pretty much in a wheelchair so they can't do too much. My husband says the food is very good, and he's pretty fussy so I would say it's good. Price-wise, they're about the same as the market everywhere else. Some places are $1000 more than what I pay or what everybody else is charging, but there are not many places that are cheaper than this one.

Brookdale North Oaks was a smaller community. I liked the employees that I met there, and the director was nice. They were all just lovely employees. The place appeared to be very clean. There were people sitting in one room, and they were playing a game when I was there. They had a small patio area too. The rooms were also smaller; but then in order to take a shower, you had to go across a hall.

Brookdale North Oaks was very nice, it's very clean and it smells good. Everything about it is fine; my mother just doesn't want to go there right now. Everybody was very nice. They were doing different things, but it's something my mother would never do anyway because she's not social. They have a beauty shop, they had the different things that the people could do there, and they had a place where they can go out to. They can't go outside, but it's like being outside. They have some offsite activities, games, fitness room. It was nice; my dad was very happy with it and I was happy with it but we just know that my mom won't be happy with it because she wants to be home.

I liked Brookdale North Oaks because it was strictly memory care. It was one floor and the apartment doors were locked when they are inside their room or in the dining area. The residents had a band around their wrists. The food smelled really good, but we didnt get to taste it. They had TVs in three or four rooms and they had a couple of different patios. The staff was very nice, very pleasant, and very informative. The place was very clean.

What impressed me the most at Brookdale North Oaks is the intimacy of the place. The atmosphere and staff are very nice. The rooms and apartments are all very nice but expensive. They were having pickle chips for snacks when I was there.

I chose Clare Bridge because it is close to my home, the number of staff available, and the program they have has the same routine every day. It has a very friendly and caring atmosphere. The room is a good size; she can have a personal things in the bedroom. I felt good about it, and I’m very impressed.

I have my dad now in Clare Bridge. This was our choice because first of all it was close and also that we were aware of them before. They also seemed to be very experienced in taking care at the level of care they're catering for. The facility is very well maintained and as I said, it's very close to my house. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They try to work quite a lot in fact for the residents. They try to keep them occupied almost all the time, so they're very active. They don't want them sitting in their rooms and they try to have stuff going on all the time. It's a nice place.

I had a chance to visit Clare Bridge of North Oaks. I find Clare Bridge very nice and accommodating. The facility is equipped for people with dementia and the staff are all friendly. The place is really wonderful. It is a very clean place. But it's expensive. My friend actually referred this facility. They have happy appearing residents and I guess they are enjoying their stay at Clare Bridge. Very clean, safe, and comfortable home. The residents look and sound really happy.

Having never visited a nursing home or assisting living facility in my life, I had a bad image in my head. I thought that people that lived in nursing homes were treated badly by the staff. After visiting North Oaks, my perception changed. The staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. They had different activities set up for the residents. I stayed to have dinner with my grandmother and the food was great. My grandmother did not have any bad things to say.

My family and I visited my husband's grandmother several times over the few months that she was living at the facility. The staff was always very generous with their time and were wonderful to her and to use when we would visit. They facility was very clean, nicely decorated, they had great food, and excellent staff. They had a lot of activities and made sure that the residents were not bored while they were there. They brought in things for the residents to do and they arranged off site events as well. She always had nice things to say about the employees and about the place and when she passed away her nurse even came to the funeral. The grounds were really nice and they were well cared for just like the inside of the facility. The rooms were nice sized as well and I don't think that she would have received better care elsewhere.
