My mom moved into Oak Terrace Health Care Center of Gaylord. It's a newer facility and we like the staff since they're very friendly and helpful. They have exercising, bingo, coffee in the afternoon, and my mom does some OT and speech therapy to help her with her memory. They have outings they can sign up for to go different places and little bands come in from the outside to entertain them. Every month, they switch the activities. They offer all the services you need. They have three meals a day, snacks, and birthday parties. They keep me informed about anything that they need for my mom, so they're very good.

Oak Terrace is in very good shape, fairly new, very welcoming ,and open. The staff that assisted me was very informative. The dining area was very clean.

Oak Terrace Assisted Living is very impressive when you walk in. The staff is wonderful, but they are just not enough, and you can't expect these girls to get around and meet the needs of the residents when they are so very short staffed. My mother gets oral care two or three times a week, and I have to tell them about that many times. I opened up the bed, and it was saturated from the night before; I don't want her to be put to bed in a bed like that. They spread themselves pretty thin among the three facilities. They cut their activity hours by more than 50%. There are things going on once in a while, but not regularly. The rooms are very nice; most of them are double roomed. Mother is in a shared room, and right now, her roommate is very nice. The dietary manager they had was very good and followed each resident very closely, but now they have someone that has no experience in this kind of work. In certain instances like short-term physical therapy, I would recommend them. They usually do provide what I ask.

My father-in-law is in Oak Terrace. As my father and mother-in-law both live in Gaylord, my mother-in-law can visit him daily. It is a nice place and they have a nice view in their common room. Their rooms are clean and didn't smell like a nursing home. They activities like bingo games. They have rooms that are set apart where you can have family get together. They also use them for their church services. Yesterday, the families get together and we celebrate Christmas there.

My late Great-grandmother went here. (She died last year) She fell seven years ago and needed to be moved to the nursing home. She went here, but quickly recovered and moved in to their assisted living area. About four years ago, the community came under new ownership and they moved my grandmother into the new senior housing apartments downstairs while they built a fancy new wing to the building. All in all, the apartments are very nice, as is the whole facility. We held birthday parties here and visited her often. In the new wing there is a pool table, many TVs, a Wii system, a chapel, a piano, lots of comfortable seating, a salon, a very nice lounge area, and an accessible entrance. In the old wing there is a small aviary, a cafeteria, and a sun room with a beautiful view of the lake. There is also a pharmacy. The Oak Terrace Senior Living/Assisted Living/Nursing Home facility is a very nice place to retire to.
