My husband and I are staying in Elmore Assisted Living. The people and the nurses are very nice, but there's nothing to do. You can't go outside and take a walk or anything like that. It's pretty much, going to a patio for 15 minutes, three times a day; and that's all the outside air you get. The reason why we had to come down here, he was in the hospital, and we were waiting for a place close to our home but couldn't find it. The hospital wanted him out because they needed beds because of COVID; this is the only place we found, so we just took it. They say they have a chef on board, but the food is not that healthy for a person. A lot of this stuff isn't fresh; we don't very often get fresh vegetables or fresh fruit, it's usually frozen or canned. You can order a salad and whatnot; the salads are very good, but the variety of the menu is very bland. The variety is not there. On the memory care level, they don't get a choice of what they eat. They just bring in something, whatever they have on a daily menu. Some days are good, some days are bad; I can pick and choose what I want to have, but my husband cannot. The staff is very helpful, but they're very busy too. There's no room to really move around. Basically, it's a nursing home. Most of these people here are on medical assistance. We do bingo, but we can't do it together. We can't even go outside together because we're on different floors. Activity wise, it's bingo, AMA meetings once a week, they have a Bible study once a week, and that's about all they have to offer. They don't have exercise or anything like that. They keep saying it on the menu thing, but they don't have anything to exercise with. There is nothing to do here. It's out of our own pocket, and its very expensive. With what you expect and what they had on their website, they say they're building, adding on, but they haven't added on one thing, and everything is old here. They should have physical activities, outdoor activities, and a better choice in food, fresh food. There aren't any services, like everything medical-wise they have to go to the next town to. There's not even a notary public in this town. That's why we want to get out of here. That's all I have to say about it.
