The staff at Norris Square are Amazing! The sense of care and kindness seeps into everything they do and the staff they hire. My mom was there for 3 years and she felt part of the community, loved the activities. They took care of mom through all her ups & downs of her health. They knew her well and she felt loved. When hospice was brought in seamlessly, the staff continued to treat mom and family with respect and kindness. As a social worker for 40 years I believe that this is a wonderful unique care provider. The compassion they showed was inspirational. Thank you!

My father has been in Memory Care at Norris Square for several years. He is generally happy, but with his dementia he is also sometimes confused, anxious, or doesn't want to be helped. But the staff has been great with him. Between my sister and me, and other friends, we keep a good eye on him and have been impressed with the assistance and attempts to keep residents entertained, fed and clean. It's a tough job taking care of individuals with dementia , but I don't see frustration, anger or neglect on the part of the staff.... mostly love and caring. Everyone, from management to nursing, maintenance, housekeeping and especially individual caretakers - know my Dad and keep a good eye on him. The nursing staff collaborates with me on his care and keeps me well informed as to his medications, health in general, any issues. The staff has been very accommodating to special requests. The activities are very good, though better before Covid when there were numerous field trips. One thing I'd like: I'd like more ability to have house call visits from various medical professionals (more optical, foot doc, hearing, heart, etc.) but our society seems to have turned away from in home dr visits so I'm not sure this is available anywhere.

Norris Square was very nice. My mom was there for five years (not always in memory care). I was there two or three times a week. I never ever saw anything there that made me question anything about the kindness and the goodness of the staff or the cleanliness. The people there really loved what they're doing and do a really good job. The last time I physically was in there was about a year and a half ago. I visited a friend then. They have church and Bible studies. They have a library, and they have a movie theater. They have entertainment quite regularly. Every month they do a celebration of everyone that lives there for their birthdays. They always have really fun entertainment for them. They also did outings. They just have a really good activity director, who does amazing things. I've had many meals there over the years, and the food was OK for them. They're bland because they're cooking for elderly with dietary needs and stuff. They always had great variety. They had a menu like a restaurant. My friend thought the value for money was great. It's because she felt like the staff went over and above taking care of them, checking on them, and doing things for them. I saw that with my mom, who started out in independent. Then she went into assisted, and then went into memory care. The staff really made them feel like they're so important. My friend thought the value for her money was topnotch.

We chose to move my dad into Norris Square because of their security. Rooms that were better insulated against the weather, and the amenities were more updated. The move-in process went great. We did not have any problems with it. The staff seemed friendly and attentive too. I like the 24 hour security, the cleanliness, and the up-to-dateness of the facility. They also have yoga classes, a movie theater, exercise classes, cards, bingo, trivia, and all that stuff. He is selective with the food so far. He likes some of it; some he does not.

I will give Norris Square the highest rating possible. I love everything about it. I would highly recommend it. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and the food is wonderful. Residents can go and eat anytime they want, which is nice. The residents were playing Bingo when we were touring. There was another room where one of the residents was having a small birthday party with family. They have daytrips, watch movies, and go to different church services. They have a large library and a chapel. The memory care that I looked at is very secure and the rooms are beautiful. The price was $300 more than what it cost to live in a plain, ugly room at the other facility, but their room was a full 1-bedroom apartment.

We visited Norris Square (Presbyterian Homes & Services Norris Square), but it was not a community type set-up. We only met the girl who gave us the tour. She was very nice and very polite. The apartments were nice. They were fine, laid out very well, clean, and warm. They were spacious and had plenty of room. The dining room was spacious. The food smelled good. We didn't have time to eat, but could have. They had a movie theater. They had transportation to stores. They had playing cards, a pool table, and Ping-Pong table. They had a nice patio out back and walking path. I liked that it was very nice, and the location was good for us. I would recommend it.

I loved Presbyterian Homes & Services Norris Square. It was a beautiful place to live in. You had meals and there was a hairdresser on site. The staff were very nice and very friendly. However, they did not accept elderly waiver for the first year and I could not afford to pay for the first year on my own.
