It was very nice when I was sick because they let me go to the assisted living for help until I could return to the Independent Living. I want to stay here for the remainder of my life. I have good friends here who I don't want to leave.

As a long-time life enrichment volunteer I have observed the care and attitudes of the staff in the pleasant community areas. I would love to give a shout out for their positive, loving attitudes and behaviors. They are sharp and outgoing to immediately be there with the right thing to say and do when a resident is in need. I have so much admiration and like them, I rejoice to see residents respond personally to activities which include music, inspiration and community.

Been to a number of sites in southwest Michigan looking for a place for mom to enjoy her golden years. My first impression of River Ridge was that it was CLEAN and smelled new. The landscaping was exceptionally well done and there was an abundance of flowers and even wild turkeys on the grounds. We didn't try the food, but the menu looked eclectic and balanced and the kitchen area smelled delicious. I know this review is supposed to be about the facility itself, but I must respond to those who live here. Those living in this community are friendly, walk about and talk with each other in the common areas, and are smiling and laughing with each other as they go about their day. Mom was worried about finding friends and I don't think she'll have any problem doing so. One question we forgot to ask during our tour with the pleasant and lovely administrator was if we could bring any animals. Some facilities don't allow pets, but if this one does, it may check all the boxes. Overall, our first impression of this facility is looking like it may be enough to move mom in in the long term. Bravo River Ridge, thank you. - H. Hill Note: 5 star rating on food is based on smell, we were there before dinner was ready

From the moment I walked in the door, I knew River Ridge was the place for my mom. It was evident that all residents were treated with care and respect. I was also impressed that the memory care facility was light, bright, had various sitting areas, and the outdoor area was very nice (including a long cement sidewalk for me to take my mom for a nice walk in her wheelchair. The aides were NOT on their phones all time and constantly interacted with the residents. My mom was well fed and taken care of by skilled individuals that truly cared about her well-being. In moms’ final days, she was treated with dignity and respect. I felt like our whole family was treated like royalty with snacks and food as we navigated this difficult time. Their care and concern for my mom and our entire family was appreciated beyond measure and will not be forgotten.

From the day my brother entered River Ridge, he (and I) were treated like family. The staff gave 110% to make sure I was informed and kept up to date on his care. They also worked to manage his day to day health and well being along with customizing solutions to keep him thriving. And yes, they aren't perfect, but let me tell you, it isn't often when you see a management team that rolls up their sleeves to do what is in the best interest of the patient and family. I have found everyone there to be positive and always open to ideas to improve the partnership between family and staff. I would highly recommend River Ridge to anyone seeking care for a loved one.

Finally after trying to be the caregiver and spouse for my husband with Lewy Body alhizmers, I am relieved of the caregiver role and am back to being the wife. The staff have helped bring relief knowing he's in well trained and caring staff.

I cannot say enough about the quality of care at River Ridge. Every member of the staff went above and beyond in the care of my mother. The atmosphere is bright and cheerful. South Haven is very fortunate to have a facility of this caliber in our small town. I have no hesitation in recommending River Ridge for yourself or a loved one.

River Ridge Retirement Village was a very nice place. My mother was actually there several years ago before she passed away in 2004, and since then they've added a memory care unit. The community rooms in the memory care unit are quite large and look OK. It's clean and the staff was friendly. When I was there yesterday morning, they were going to have an ice-cream social in the afternoon, but other than that, I didn't see that many residents in the memory care. There were a couple of residents, but they were pretty far gone. Also, I have a friend who's in the assisted living part. We talked for a little while, and she was fine being there. They are expensive, though, but the person who showed me around was pleasant and nice, and the place didn't smell at all.

My cousin moved into River Ridge Retirement Village. She's been there a couple of months now. It's a very nice place. I have no problems whatsoever. She has a studio-type thing. I know they have activities. They had a Mardi Gras party last week, so they do quite a bit. I am very pleased. They are very nice and attentive. She's not really thrilled with the food, but she's a very picky eater. The location is more convenient for us.

My father moved into River Ridge Retirement Village. It was the most welcoming community that we found. Everything is great there. The food is good, everything is better there, this is the best facility we found. They keep them pretty active there. They are upfront with what they provide, and they are very hands-on with their residents.
