I toured Blueberry Hill Assisted Living Lawton. I like that it was clean. The people were very friendly. The rooms were of a good size. They're not tiny, but they're not enormous either. All the meals are provided. The person during the tour was very informative, answered any questions that we had, and generally showed us around the facility. So she did a great job. The people stay in a room. They have activities that you can go on and they have meals that are prepared. The residents don't ever cook. They have three meals a day and a snack in the evening.

Lake View is family oriented. It has a community area where residents can go and be with each other like in the middle of the hallway, not off to one side or something where you can't really see what's going on. We chose it basically for the location because it was closer to visit my father and to where his children live so we won't have to drive two hours to get to him. Right now, it only has 8 residents but they're getting more every week. It was just opened on November 1. Nice room, light colors on the walls, not drab and dreary. It might be old but it's kept up well. The floor is always shiny. the windows are clean. You don't smell odors that you wouldn't want to smell when you're walking in the hallways. My father-in-law likes it a lot better there. He has a lot of friends and he enjoys his stay there. We ate there with him. I was there when he had food, we didn't eat them but we watched. It seemed to be very nice and the residents were sitting at the table with him always saying how good the food is. At this point, they don't have a lot of activities because it's a new site that was just taken over by a bigger site that was in Battle Creek.
