The staff at Grand Village truly care about their residents. My Dad is in assisted living and even though he has limited mobility they still make sure he is engaged in activities he enjoys. I’ve finally found a facility where I don’t have to worry about his care, instead I get to just visit and enjoy my time with him.

I can't say enough good things about Grand village. The staff is amazing. Everybody's very friendly and caring. The communication with us regarding my father-in-law is top-notch. I know I don't have to worry about him and that he's in great hands. I love that it's a small community. They encourage the residents to participate in various activities, but at the same time if they don't want to do something they don't have to. Moving my father-in-law here was the best thing for him and it gives my family peace of mind knowing that he's being cared for.

My father has been a resident of Grand Village Memory Care for almost 5 months. We have been so pleased with the quality of care and compassion he has received. The rooms are very nice and the food is excellent. Their main chef has a real passion for what she does, making sure the residents are well fed (homemade cookies and muffins are readily available for visitors as well)! The Lifestyle Enrichment team is very connected with the residents and plan many activities they encourage the residents to participate in. The management and staff have been very attentive to meeting the changing needs of my father as well and do an excellent job. It is so nice to walk the halls and have all the staff greet my dad by name. As hard of a decision this was to make they have walked along side of us each step of the way to make the transition as smooth as possible!

Both my mother in-law and father in-law have been living in the memory care area for about 4 months. Jennifer and her staff were wonderful from the start! They maded sure to find side by side rooms. Also, many of the staff members worked very hard to make sure both of my in-laws were comfortable and adjusting to this new change. The activities director even planned a night out at my father in-law's favorite place on a holiday weekend! She planned it, made sure to have another staff member available to attend with her, invited our family, and made sure to transport our parents since my father in-law is in a wheelchair! She did this because she is so deicated to making sure all of the residents are enjoying activities! Last, I can't forget to mention the chef! She has bent over backwards to make wonderful meals! She is always trying to find new things that they enjoy to eat! We are so thankful to know that they are both in a safe and loving place!

The rooms are spacious for what is needed. The closets are big. The room my mom is in looks out onto the courtyard. The courtyard is well kept. We were able to hang a bird feeder, so she can watch the birds which she loves. The staff is friendly to my mom and do their best to make her feel welcomed. The chef is awesome and talks with the residents to find out their likes and dislikes. The activities are fun for Mom and the staff does a great job making sure they are participating. I appreciate the care and sense of welcome we feel for my mom and when we come to visit. They even send pictures of mom doing some of the activities. Mom enjoys it and calls it her condo and likes to be with all her new friends. She loves visiting with her friends, doing crafts, and playing piano. It's the best knowing she isn't alone.

Our mother has lived at Grand Village in the Memory Care unit for almost four months. The staff has been great as far as working with her & getting her settled with her new living arrangements. They keep her very busy & I love all the activities they plan for the residents. My mom says all the time how clean it is, how nice the people are & how great the food is . The staff keeps open communication on everything we need to know. We are very happy with deciding on Grand Village to be her home.

I had an amazing experience visiting this facility. I was serving there to volunteer providing music for the residents. Every staff member that I encountered was very kind, and you could tell that the residents were very well taken care of. Also, the facility is very clean and nice.

My father is a resident and is very happy with his room, the food and the friendly and caring staff. He also enjoys some of the activities such as the musical entertainment and the ice cream socials. There are many other activities for a variety of interests. The activities involving families have been fun such as the recent fall dance. We visit him often and our own interactions with the staff have been great. They are always willing to answer any questions and willing to help in any way they can.

Grand Village is amazing! My grandmother was living at a different living facility and unfortunately fell down and broke her hip. Due to the nature of the situation, I was reluctant to bring her back to the same living facility. I toured Grand Village and was very impressed! The move in process was made quick and easy by Jennifer, Madison and the rest of the great team at Grand Village! It is a very warm and welcoming place that I felt comfortable moving my grandmother to. From the staff who is always so wonderful to the food that my grandma very much enjoys, I am more than satisfied with her new situation! Every time I go to visit her, she is always in a great mood with new stories to tell!

The staff at Grand Village are very caring. They try to keep residents engaged and do many activities both at the facility and external to give residents something to look forward to. I would suggest touring at least 3 facilities so you find the best fit for you or your family member.

My mom loves living at Grand Village! She is very happy there. The staff are exceptional, friendly and so caring. They go above and beyond making her feel welcome, helping her and encouraging her. The food is delicious and there is plenty of activities for residents to interact and enjoy. Plus the facility is cleaned and maintained beautifully. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

My wife was in Grand Village Assisted Living & Memory Care. They took care of her very well. She was fed well. I visited her every day. She was in memory care. She had a private room. She had a television and a hospital bed in there. They had a shower in another room because she couldn't get out of her wheelchair too well. The first couple of months she went to an exercise where they knocked this ball around to each other and so forth. They had a beauty salon. They had a minister come in, they had religious songs every week, and a pastor came in. They had a bus there and one time we went on a tour all around Grand Rapids and different places. She was in the facility under hospice care. It was the best. The staff was excellent. I ate with her sometimes and the food was excellent. The facility was good. The only thing I would complain about is when you go over there, you have to wait quite a while to get in. Somebody has to come to the door and let you in. When you want to leave, you got to wait until somebody comes and lets you out. I had to wait sometimes 10 to 15 minutes to get in. They had a good activities director. She had something going on every day, different things, cooking, taking a tour, or singing, and they had different people come in and sing. It was expensive like all of them.

My mom has been a resident for 3 1/2 years. 3 1/4 years in Assisted Living and 4 months in Memory Care. The building is beautiful inside and out, when you walk in it feels like “home”-not institutional looking. Common areas are furnished and decorated very tastefully. Individual rooms vary in size/price but they are all nicely furnished and you are free to personalize them to make your loved one feel at home. We’ve been blessed with consistent, dedicated care staff, which means they know the residents well. They are quick to notice when something is “off” with a resident. And for the residents to see familiar faces daily helps them emotionally. Staff is friendly and they truly care about the residents. There are plenty of activities available and the director encourages residents to get involved. They offer several events throughout the year for where families can join residents. Memory Care residents can often be found sitting outside on the porch chatting In the summer or doing a puzzle, coloring, etc around the big table. They also have opportunities to go on group outings (field trips) with Suzie, the Activities Director. My mom has been well cared for and happy since day one. The staff has also provides education opportunities, and emotional support for me as my mom transitioned from assisted living to Memory Care.

I toured Grand Village Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was lovely. The tour was wonderful. It is bright, cheerful, and new-looking, and there are lots of windows. It's a very pleasant place to be in. The staff was excellent, helpful, and answered the questions that I had very nicely. With activities, I saw people playing bingo. There's a nice outdoor space, so people were sitting outdoors. They have lots of activities that they have listed. The person who gave me the tour talked about how they had just taken people to Holland on a bus. They went down basically to the shopping street in Holland and had a nice time doing some shopping. They played bingo. They had a cookout with their residents and families in the past few days before I visited there. It sounds to me like they do a lot of things to keep their residents busy. The rooms were lovely. We saw both a studio and a one-bedroom, and they both were of adequate size for what my mom needed. They were lovely apartments.

My mom has moved into Grand Village Assisted Living & Memory Care. I don't feel like the director is very professional, but I think the staff is good. Right away they wanted me to sign her up for hospice, which my mom did qualify for. That kind of means that their staff had to do less because they said hospice will come in and shower her and stuff like that. I've never dealt with this kind of issue before, so I don't know if that's typical, but she is there now. The other thing I don't like is that they make you sign up for ACH withdrawal, but I never got an invoice. All of a sudden, the money is out of the account, and I have no idea, like, no invoice. I'm supposed to get the first month rent free, but then they just took $5000 out. I'm going to email them and say, 'I want an invoice.' I feel like their security is good. It seems very clean, and the staff is good. I just didn't care for the way that the director handled the whole admission without telling me the amount until I already had my mom in there. I felt like that was wrong on her part. She wasn't very upfront, and I don't think they're professional. The everyday staff, like the nurses the young ladies that work with my mom, they're really good; I would give them a 5. I t's a nice building. It's relatively new. I don't think my mom has been participating in activities. They offer them, but she hasn't been doing them.

I toured Grand Village Assisted Living & Memory Care. I didn't meet many of the residents. It's very beautiful. The units were perfect as well. They seem to have a variety of units and levels of care. The staff, I think it was the director I spoke with, was very nice, helpful, and informative. I believe it's a newer facility, and the rooms were very well appointed. They're private rooms. They did mention that they have a chef on site. We didn't discuss the food that much. It was very well maintained as far as I could tell you, and the folks seemed happy to be there.

The core staff is very great to work with. Not as much turn over as other places. They really do care about my mom.

I went to Grand Village Assisted Living. It is laid out exactly the same as where my mom is now, but a couple of years older. The facility was really nice. The guy that did the tour was really nice. It is not as updated as the other place, but it was still very clean and very nice in appearance. They do lots of activities and they had a beauty/barber salon. The staff was very friendly. It is kept up very well, and it felt very homey. There were residents hanging out in the living area and some of them in the dining area finishing up lunch or something.
