My mother is now temporarily at the Medilodge of Cheboygan. I give them a rating of five because of the level of care and professionalism they presented to me. My mother is blind and deaf, and they have gone above and beyond to make sure she's comfortable. The staff members are very attentive. My mother says the food is wonderful. They have a community center where there are activities. My mother also goes to physical therapy. The facility is outdated, and the rooms are very small. They put two in a room. It is covered by insurance.

Wonderful caring staff. Therapy was great and help push me toget home. After I discharged home my wife broke her hip and also stayed a Tendercare. We both would recommend.

Tendercare is much better than it was years ago. I thought I would never place anyone back in there from what I heard about the place. When larson hall closed I had to put my husband in there and was worried but couldn't be happier. It is so nice and the staff really cater to him. They are always willing to do what they can to help and the whole place seems to have taken a turn for the better. I am so thankful he can stay in town and it is really nice in there.

My grandmother was sent to Tender Care in Cheboygan, Michigan recently. She went there for inpatient physical rehab after being released from the hospital. The facility itself was very impressive, a lot better than we thought it would be. She absolutely loved the food service there. They catered to her special dietary needs with so much attention to detail too. You would think that's a given in care facilities, but we've experienced some places that just didn't seem to care about the quality of food and nutrition they provide. That's definitely not the case with Tender Care of Cheboygan. It was better than some of the restaurants she'd eaten at over the years. Beyond that, they even have a beauty salon on site. She was able to get her hair done, which helped her feel more at home and relaxed. The staff was amazing with her, and with all of us family members as well. Not only did they supervise her and care for her 24/7, they handled all of her physical therapy needs right there at the facility and helped come up with an aftercare plan to send her home with to keep her on the right track. I'm so glad that Tender Care was a part of her recovery, they were an amazing resource in our time of need.

I called every other home in the Northern Michigan area trying to find a place for my mother. It is horrible. My mother was an incredibly large woman who needed assistance moving from her bed to her commode. At one point while doing a transfer they dropped her. They said that they didn't drop her, they "assisted her to the floor". When I questioned why a bed-bound patient who couldn't walk on her own needed to get on the floor, I never got a very good answer. But the worst part was when she was "assisted" her leg was broken. And they didn't know it. She complained for over 24 hours until my Aunt--I was out of town--called an ambulance to take her to the hospital, against the advice of Tendercare's staff. When she got to the hospital, they found the fracture. My mother suffered horribly. I only wish that one day, they know that kind of suffering.
