What you can do with Caring
About Care Cardinal Byron Center in Byron Center, Michigan
Care Cardinal Byron Center is a locally owned senior living facility with Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care neighborhoods. We provide an intimate, home-like setting where staff and residents interact like family. We're rethinking and redesigning how to care for residents. Personal Care/Assisted Living We help aging adults with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, doing laundry, and taking medications. Our staff members are on-site 24 hours a day. The key difference between independent living and personal care is the level of assistance offered for daily living activities and health care. Memory Care The journey of memory loss is challenging, both for the person who experiences it and their loved ones. Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia requires a focused team for the challenge. We take additional precautions to ensure our residents are safe and protected from wandering off and the fear of injury. To provide mental and physical stimulation, our caring staff provides each resident with activities that are suited to their interests and skills. To learn more about this provider's license and review other available state reports, please visit: Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Adult Foster Care Search

The people at Care Cardinal Byron Center were friendly. The whole facility just did not seem well-kept. It wasn't as nice as some others that we visited. We were in the assisted living during our tour and the person who assisted us was kind, but it just seemed more of a task to her than some of the others we met with. The others asked questions and were very involved in the process of just trying to understand what we needed. We just did not get that sense from this person in this facility.

We toured Care Cardinal Byron Center. I was not impressed at all with this community. We interacted with three different staff. Two of them were very nice and very helpful. One of them, not as much. I mean, she acted irritated that we were there. The facility itself was unimpressive, and it made me feel like I was in a skilled nursing facility as opposed to an assisted living facility. Most of the rooms, they'll have a toilet, but they don't have their own shower, so they have to use a community shower. It almost had a depressing feel when I walked in. The rooms were small.

I went to Byron Center Manor. It was very clean and neat, and very comfortable looking. The patrons seemed to be very friendly. I saw a one-bedroom, studio type thing. The staff was very nice. I just went in, viewed the kitchen area, I didn't get a chance to get friendly with anybody, I just went through the hall, down to the bedroom, and back out. It was all they would allow. There wasn't much of a yard. The apartment had a sink and microwave, and could fit a full-size bed, couch, chair, and a small table.

We went to the assisted and memory care sides of Byron Center Manor. The memory care seemed understaffed. The assisted living side was clean, quiet, didn't have bad odors or smells, and was kind of bright, and seemed a little bit better. The person who assisted me was knowledgeable. The dining area was clean and well kept. There were people playing board games.

Byron Center Manor was good. The staff seemed very helpful and friendly. It was an older facility and that showed a little bit. I looked at the dining area, and it was very nice. Security was good. They had a list of activities that available, with something new every day.
