As the most populous area of Nevada, Clark County is home to more than 300,000 seniors. Many of these people age 65 and over, a significant portion of the 45,000 in the whole state, live with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Clark County is home to world-class medical facilities, including those specializing in brain health and dementia care such as Montevista Hospital and Seven Hills Hospital, in the event of medical emergencies or illness.
Long-term care is vital for many seniors in Clark County who have mental impairments, and there are 26 memory care facilities in the area that provide assisted living services. These facilities, officially called Residential Facilities for Groups, are endorsed by the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health.
