I was at Bear Mountain at West Springfield. It's a nursing home, but they do have rehab. I was there for maybe nine-and-a-half weeks at two different back-to-back admissions. The staff was excellent and the food was excellent. They provided three meals and snacks. I was mostly in my room, but I knew that they had activities every day. From what I could see, they were very good. Everything was excellent.

Wingate was the only one that has a bed available when my mother was discharged from the hospital. She's been there a number of times and they know her. I've had meetings with the social worker before because I wasn't happy with certain things, and then they corrected them. I think if you're not there every day, your patient tends to get overlooked a little. So I stay on top of them. A lot of times I had to bring in meals because she won't eat the food. I'm happy with the physical and occupational therapy there, and they do have exercise activities. But I think the menu could use some improvement. Sometimes on the weekends, I find them to be short staffed.
