My mother moved into Sunrise of Wayland. It's a positive experience. They have a restaurant-style dining area, they take care of the meds for my mother, they come in and clean the room in a reasonable time. And frankly, all the things that I negotiated, so there are several useful amenities. My mother has only been there for two to three weeks. The rooms are excellent, they're in good shape, and well maintained. They have an activity room where there's a whole bunch of capabilities, even cooking, arts and crafts, and sewing, whatever one may need to, to keep them occupied. They have a piano downstairs in their larger visiting area, and this particular person plays the piano, and it reverberates throughout the entire facility. The mood in the place is generally pretty good.

We toured Sunrise of Wayland. It was a very warm and cozy feeling, vibrant. The energy was very inviting. They worked to accommodate our request well, and we liked the staff. They were able to accommodate us with the shared room which is well-suited to my dad's personality. We viewed two different rooms, a studio, and a shared room. There were different levels, and the site itself felt like a nice big Victorian house. They have workout classes each morning, movies each night with popcorn, full rehab services which he needs, and 24-hour visiting. They have beautiful grounds.

Go here if you like a dingy environment and simpleton food. The food is reminiscent of cafeteria food for elementary school kids. The place has a dingy feel. It's unclear how old the rugs are. They look dingy as if they should be replaced as soon as possible. Some of the aides and nurses are really good and that's the only good thing about this place.

The rooms at the Sunrise of Wayland were way too small. The closet was tiny. The menu was awful. They said that a barber comes in about once a week. The facility is very old. It's very depressing. They could do a lot of upgrades, have more activities, and have more selections on the menu. It seemed more like a nursing home, even though it was an assisted living facility.

Sunrise of Wayland had a very pleasant and warm atmosphere. The staff looked courteous and professional. The rooms and the activities seemed very nice. They had a social room, some off-site trips on a regular basis, and a dining hall.

My aunt moved into sunrise of Wayland. It's great, they're very attentive, caring, they anticipate a lot of her needs, it's a very stable and welcoming environment, and the level of care is excellent. The food is decent, too. They have chair yoga, massages, weekly outings, bingo, and they have live music. The downsides are that it's very expensive, they do not have a lot of exercise facilities, and they do not supply transportation to appointments. However, the warmth and dedication of the staff is superb.

I wanted to give only 3 stars, but for some people, this place offers things that few others do - like the ability to have a dog or other pet stay with you even in the assisted living memory care unit - an amazing amenity. (They also have a resident dog and 2 resident cats, which is super for the residents). The staff is good to the residents and caring, but they have too many duties. For example, they assist the residents with dressing, bathing and other daily functions, do their laundry, feed them and clean up after, AND provide most of what passes for "recreational activities". You are shown a list of a full day of activities when they are trying to sell you on their memory care unit (as well as a wonderful menu nice enough to rival any restaurant). What they don't tell you is that the memory care unit gets two choices for meals - no full menu, and only two hours of recreational activity a day - mostly consisting of the already overworked staff reading or asking trivia questions of the residents; some singing and music, with some crafts. They all do their best but they are not recreational specialists and the regular staff are not skilled in eliciting interaction as recreational activities are designed to provide. The television seemed to be on Fox News and channels that had a lot of loud discordant discourse or troubling or violent scenes that were stressful for the residents - my relative was constantly worried about all the terrible things that were happening. When just your tone of voice is enough to stress those with dementia, this was detrimental. The monthly room rate seems reasonable until you find out EVERYTHING is extra, making a reasonable $6,000 a month charge for assisted living into a nearly $12,000 a month bill...for fewer amenities, less recreational time, and less services then other just as nice places that offer so much more for half the cost. I would say that if you have a relative that wants to keep their pet, and they have lots of extra money to spend, check this place out (pets and their needs must be taken care of by dog wakers and others - not the staff, and Lord knows how much extra they charge for allowing a pet). Otherwise, there other just as nice place, with more services, a full day of highly interactive recreational activities led by recreational specialists, the television, when it's on, has lovely movies, concerts, and television shows that the residents are familiar with - funny, calming, soothing. Best of all, at half the cost, and within 10 or 15 minutes of Sunrise.

Sunrise of Wayland had a higher staff ratio and a different philosophy than some of the other places which appealed to me. It had a lot of independence for the residents and a very homey atmosphere starting with the architecture before you even come in. It has a lot of New England charm. The location is very convenient, and it's on a main road, but set back from the road. The interesting thing is that I live in this area, and I've probably driven by it hundreds of times, but I've never noticed it before, so that's how far back it's set from the road, which is a big plus. I liked that they had choices for 1-bedroom units, a 2-room unit, and a studio, and the price difference seemed small. They had something else that no other facility had which was kind of an obscure need except that it applied to my dad, which was a step-in tub. All his comforts from him could be applied here.

I like Sunrise of Wayland. They showed me what they had available. They had a library, a backyard facility, a bar-thingy for happy hour, living rooms, and art studios where they would do arts and crafts. The dining room looked great. The staff was very friendly, very polite, and very accommodating.

Sunrise is immaculate, and the staff is wonderful. It doesn’t smell, and the grounds are beautiful. I liked that my grandparents have their own space, but they can socialize with other people during meals. They have their own room, with a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and their own kitchenette. The dining room has open space; everyone has their own chair, and they use that every day.

My wife has been in Sunrise of Wayland for a while now. This is a place where she'd be most satisfied and feel at home. She has her own room and bathroom. They have activities for her during the day. They have bingo, and they go out to the veranda. They care for the patients, and she is satisfied. She is taken care of as well as possible. She is in a locked down dementia area, and the service appeared to be very good.

I thought Sunrise was excellent. It was a very nice place and very clean. I had a very good impression. The rooms are nice, very welcoming, and very much like a home. People there really helped me. I was very pleased to see this place. There were singing, people were actively participating, and they love to be there. Everyone was very nice and very helpful. I would highly recommend it to others.

The residents were much older at Sunrise Wayland. The staff was good, friendly, and helpful to everybody. The rooms were small. They had exercise classes, music, and I remember a couple of times a week somebody come in and played guitar. It was also closer to my house.

My mother went to Sunrise of Wayland. We chose this facility because it seemed to be the best fit. It was kind of homey, it wasn’t huge, and the staff was really nice. The facility was bright and cheerful. I really don’t know how much she is getting into the activities, but she does go down at 3 o'clock for social hours. Nobody was just sitting around, people were busy.

I went and toured Sunrise. It was a very nice facility. I saw some of the rooms. Although most of them were fairly small, I appreciated them because they all looked good. I had lunch there and I liked the food. It was very, very good. The people were very attentive and they seemed to be dedicated. It might a little pricey for me.

Sunrise of Wayland just didn't have enough for the long haul in terms of care. You have to bring more health services for yourself. It was less appealing in that they didn't have enough health services. It did have a dementia area. It may be good for some people, they may like what they have, so there's nothing negative about it. It was also less expensive because they didn't have buy-in.

Sunrise was very nice and lovely. The woman that showed us around was very nice and they had everything that a little old person would love but it's outrageously expensive. They had nice sitting rooms and snacks, tea or coco 24/7 and three square meals. They had a little barbershop and hair dressing place. They had a bunch of stimulating groups for people who have dementia like my dad. They had a lot to offer.

Sunrise Senior Living in Wayland is a very nice facility and the residents are well cared for there. The building and grounds are always very clean and well kept. Residents often sit outside on the walkway or in the screened porch when the weather is nice. The common areas always have people in them either watching television or listening to music. There have been occasions when I visited and there were very talented live musicians playing the piano. There are two small dogs which live at Sunrise. They are mostly well behaved and get along well with the residents and visiting children. The staff are very kind, patient and professional. The food is well made and there is a private dining room which can be requested by the residents. The facility it two floors, but easy to navigate and wheelchair accessible. My grandmother is happy living at Sunrise senior living.

Sunrise Assisted Living is a good place for my great-grandmother to live. She made the difficult decision to stop living in her own home after a stroke, and Sunrise is the most home-like environment available that also suited her level of need for care. She receives medical care, occupational therapy, and physical therapy in the same facility, as well as enrichment activities. The facility is clean and bright, and it is easy for residents and family to maneuver in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. The two staff doggies provide an additional home-like touch. The staff are kind, respectful, and caring; each staff member seems dedicated to meeting the needs of each individual resident. The kitchen provides healthy and good-tasting food, and there's a beautiful open dining room with plenty of windows. Even the grounds are beautiful, with flowers, grass, and well-maintained paved paths, so even residents in wheelchairs can go outdoors with assistance.

The facility seemed great. My class was warmly welcomed, but the part of the facility that I noticed the most was the cleanliness. From the general furniture to the bathrooms, every part seemed to be thoroughly inspected and cleaned. Therefore, I was very pleased in this regard. Likewise, the staff were very accommodating , both for my class and the elderly. We were happily greeted at the door, and this friendliness lasted throughout the entire time which spanned about two hours. In fact, my teacher noted that of all the assisted facilities that she had seen, Sunrise Assisted Living in Wayland was by far the best. Overall, the occupants seemed pleased with their lifestyle. There were no negative aspects of the facilities, so overall I was very impressed. One woman personally thanked me and noted that our class didn't need to work so hard to memorized multiple songs. I responded however that it was my pleasure.
