We chose Blaire House of Tewksbury because we had the lowest number of memory care patients on the floor. We thought that they provided a little bit more personalized care because it was a small group of patients. The staff is fantastic. It's expensive, but not as expensive as a lot of the others. It's a neat and clean community, and they have some of the most caring staff members I could have ever hoped for.

The Weekend Staff I don't have anything Positive to say about ,the OverNight Staff ignore the Patients or take Hours 2 respond, they wld leave soiled Diapers on my Friend who is deeply LOVED, all Night & into the day, My Friend staying there wld Complain& they wld get Hollered at or told that the wrkr doesn't care & wld be told to Shut up,& this individual wld get talked to n a Hateful Manner, This place has caused my Friend to Drastically Change, They No Longer have a Positive Attitude & seems to have given up, All bc of the way this place has been Treating them.. The weekend Staff Overnight especially I can't say anything Positive about..My Friend deserves 2 be Treated Better, The weekend staff just doesn't seem like they Care & this is a shame and the person in charge when my Friend has reported to them , they get an Attitude as if they don't Care.. Start doing Better Blair House bc my Friend Deserves Better, You are ripping the Joy out of this person & their Hope & Spark n Life, All this has disappeared they are Losing this bc of the way they are bn Treated

The staff did not change patients. Left in soiled diapers. No water left for patient. No tv turned on for patient. I would not recommend. Anne Marie and the zoom team were very nice. No one ever called to say sorry after my mom passed. No manners.

I have chosen Blaire House of Tewksbury for my dad because it's local to where he's lived his whole life. It's not just assisted living or memory care like some of the other ones. They've got skilled nursing and a dementia center also, so he can stay on the same property. It looked comfortable. It was the right fit for him. I was there for a little over an hour, and the people that I ran into were friendly. They've got nice rooms, hallways, and a dining area. They've got a lot of outdoor space to spend time in, so I like all that.

My thought in touring the Blaire House of Tewksbury was that if my dad could fit into their assisted living for some time, then as his Alzheimer's progressed he'd already be in the system and can transition into their skilled nursing section. I also wanted to get him into their long-term memory care. The community appeared to be in a nice setting. My overall experience was a little of a rough start. I walked in and it was almost 6 minutes before anybody appeared at the front desk in the lobby. So I was left wandering in the lobby for a little bit so I was kinda surprised at that. But when I ultimately met someone, it was unfortunately someone fairly new at the position. But she was very nice and very helpful. the rooms and apartments were spacious and comfortable in terms of somebody needing memory care. I was a little on the fence that it might be a little bit much because they had microwaves inside the rooms and things like that. I stopped by their dining area, it was quite busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. As the kitchen room staff and dining room staff were moving about, they said hello to me. They were all friendly, and you could see they were helping people. It looked like a very good environment. There was a deck, and people from the assisted living area can go out and spend time there. The deck overlooked the back of the area so there were trees and so forth. They said that they would do certain functions outdoors, and the staff would bring people out to those.

My sister and I visited the Blaire House of Tewksbury in person, and we also took my cousin to see it on a different day. Their assisted living and memory care are in one building. The memory care is up on the 3rd floor. The woman in charge, Betsy, I think her name is, was very accommodating, very flexible with meeting us, giving us a wonderful tour, and meeting some of the staff there. When we came back another 4 or 5 days later when we took my cousin, they spent a lot of time trying to explain things to him and the different programs available to him. They spent time showing him thoroughly all the rooms. He wanted to be able to get out and she said they have a walking group every morning. He likes music, so they have a music program, at least once, sometimes twice, a week, and all the positive things that she was trying to get him to understand on all the activities that were involved there. They have little outside patios and things like that that he could eventually get out to with somebody there. Betsy was very, very accommodating with her time for us. She spent a lot of time with us both. I thought the place was immaculate and very well maintained. The room that we thought we were going to put him in was going to be freshly painted and everything because somebody had left. I thought it was very, very clean. They offered us some food but my cousin didn't want anything. We sat in the dining area and looked at the menu. If there's nothing that you like on the menu, there are back-ups like the burgers and things like that. Betsy explained all that to us and showed them where it was. There were always snacks available and she showed us where they were. We saw some people that were living there and there were some men, which was something that we were hoping to see. We were impressed enough that we decided that would be a good spot for him. He just didn't feel the same way and didn't want to go anywhere.

The staff knows their customers and attends to their needs. Always a friendly atmosphere. The staff is alert, caring and helpful. Her room was always clean, her belly full, and she loved the music nights.

Blaire House has daycare, it's a small area, and the next building attached is assisted living. They had another building for skilled nursing. My husband goes for daycare 3 days a week. It is lovely, and they have activities. I only looked at the shared rooms.

My husband goes to Blaire House of Tewksbury for daycare. He seems happy with the place. They play bingo and trivia games. When the weather is good, they go out for a walk. The socialization is good, and they are very good with him. The staff is very patient. It is a very nice place. It is clean, and it is in a quiet area. I am very happy with them.

I visited there a couple of times and have to say that specifically the "dementia unit" was pitiful. NO safety regard for the patients. Oxygen tubling tangles and hanging all over the room, beds a mess, dirty with old food on her side table. Patients were walking by taking pills off of an unattended medication cart. Food is left on counters and the patients were walking by and taking it. Very disappointed in what I saw and would not choose this place for my parent or anyone for that matter.

I have visited Blaire House Assisted Living numerous times. Set at the end of a residential neighborhood, Blaire House has a beautiful garden, ample parking and many other wonderful features like a koi pond and shaded areas to relax under. The interior of Blaire House Assisted Living is a bit dated, but lends to a "homey" feeling. The food was pleasantly better than I expected! One criticism I have about this facility is that the turn over rate of staff seems to be rather high.
