We are in one of the cottages. The rooms are comfortable for a single person or a couple. The cottages include a garage and a full basement plus a three-season porch. The grounds are maintained and walks and driveways are plowed. They have meal packages and also have special events around the holidays. There are ongoing activities each day of the week and a monthly calendar is provided. The staff and Maintenace have always been available and responsive to our needs. Southwick Village has turned out to be a great place for older people and the residents are very friendly. We would highly recommend the village for comfortable living.

The cottages are very spacious and well equipped. I have only eaten twice in the dining room and the food was very good. The staff and maintenance here are very helpful and polite. This is a great place to live.

My mom loves her little room perfect for her. Natural lighting with all the windows. As for the caregivers I feel at meal times there should be three on the shift. There is a lot of time spent trying to get those that need assistance into the dining areas. The food temperature is an issue. Also the residents need time to eat and not feel rushed so the women working can take away dishes, disinfect the table and reset for next meal time. I feel that third person could be a runner for drinks etc and taking down special notes for residents specific needs for their meal preparation etc. The food needs to a hotter temperature when arriving to dining area. Plus there shouldn't be spicy foods included in their daily diets and more fresh fruit choices and vegetables. Which should be steamed tender not tough and hard. Also I would add there should be more activities for especially assisted living residents as well as the independent living. The flooring in the assisted living wings and hallways need to be replaced ASAP. I've addressed this back in February. I was told quotes were being done and now workers have to be hired to get the contract job done. I'm very happy to see a guest/visitor sign in book was implemented again. Should have been all along. Also I would like to get a key for my mom room. My brother and I were specifically told by Director we would receive one. Just in case we take my mom out for the weekend. Safety first for all not just for residents but for staff and guests/outside professionals."

We moved my mom into Southwick Village from Florida to be closer; she absolutely loves it. Her apartment is so cozy and bright, she loves the food and all the residents have been so welcoming. The staff has been great to her and it was an easy transition thanks to Jamie and Christie.

I appreciate the great service and the high quality of the food. The dining room is lovely and certainly a big improvement from the old carpeting and wallpaper in the old dining room. I am disappointed that this is now a facility with non-seniors. Some residents have unleashed large dogs. I have lived in an independent unit since 2016, unfortunately my husband passed away after 6 months living here and I have returned to the local school district to sub for income. My carpets need to be cleaned and the windows are covered in pollen so I need to pay a service to cover this. No respect for bikers many new residents who are not seniors speed near me. The lovely fountain in front of the Dublin house is decorated with silly rubber toys??? I feel it looks cheap.

We have a lovely 2 bedroom, two bath cottage. It is very roomy and comfortable. Staff is very friendly especially our activities director and the maintenance staff. Unfortunately there is a lot of turnover of the staff.

I chose Southwick Village for myself. So far, so good. Everyone has been very pleasant. If I needed anything, they were right there. Move-in was a breeze, and everyone has been very kind. My apartment has a very large living room and it is open to the dining room. I have a very large kitchen, a sunroom, a big bedroom, a walk-in closet, a second closet, a coat closet, and a bathroom. You can enter from the bedroom area or the living room area. So, it is very large. They call it a cottage. It's sort of like a condo. There's like 3 of them hooked together, kind of thing. You can go to the dinners if you want for 15 bucks, which is reasonable. They have activities. They have a library and they have a small gym. They have a band, they go on little trips and stuff, and you can participate in anything you choose. They have a calendar that goes out that helps you choose. They had me go to the restaurant area and meet some ladies, and they were very welcoming for me to come sit with them at the table. We had a nice conversation and told me that there's a little band and all kinds of things. It was fun. They have security and everything here.

The staff is great. I am not sure of her last name but first name is Karen. She really puts her heart into the care of the clients. She is honest and will not steer you in the wrong directions.I went to visit a friend and they talk highly of the place.

More fits into the apartments than you would think. We had to ask a few times to get a storage area assigned and to get the start up of the apartment cleaning services. The staff is very friendly and the variety of activities is wonderful.

Rooms are clean and staff is always willing to help and go above and beyond. Resident enjoys bus trips and in house activities. My Mom's situation is a bit challenging at times and the staff has been amazing to accommodate every step of the way.

Living in the cottages at Southwick Village is the perfect mix of support and independence. There are lots of activities we can take part in if we want and can retreat to our cottage when we are ready to be alone. We love our sun porch, and having a garage and full basement are definitely pluses. We have a garden in the community plot and can plant what we want around our cottage, but we no longer have to worry about taking care of the lawn in the summer or dealing with the snow in the winter.

About a month ago, my husband and I moved to The Cottages at Southwick Village. The Cottages are for 55+ "active acommunity". They also have Independent living and Assisted living in the main building, The Dublin House. There is also a club house for the cottagers, but anyone who lives here can use it. It has a putting green, and bocce ball courts. Cottagers have the option of purchasing a meal plan, if they'd like. You can either eat in the beautiful dining room at the Dublin House , pick up your dinner to go at the dining room, or have it delivered for a small fee. There's a continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dinner features 2 main dishes each night. There is also an "always available" menu if you'd rather - hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken, salads, fruit, yogurt, etc. The food is prepared by an actual executive chef, not a line cook, and the meals are delicious. Fresh summer veggies from the area, beef, pork, seafood, chicken, to name a few. For dessert you can have cookie of the day or chef's choice. To our surprise, one night we had cannolis! We love the meals here. Always fresh and always flavorful. The monthly calendar is loaded with activities! Games, bus trips, movie night, bingo, art classes, and more. Last weekend there was a carnival at the main building with live music, carnival foods and games and a raffle for a new TV. There was even a pie eating contest! When we came to look at Southwick Village we were greeted by the most amazing, bubbly woman!! We instantly fell in love with the place. The staff is above and beyond! They make you feel like you've known them your whole life. The Cottages, themselves, are adorable, well priced and very roomy. We have a one bedroom with a den, living room, dining area, full kitchen, 1 1/2 baths, huge walk- in closet, and a full washer/dryer. ..and a screened in 3 season porch! There's also a full basement and garage. We have everything we could possibly need or want. The people in the neighborhood are very friendly. It is also pet friendly here, with a fenced in area for the pups to run. Before we moved in, our cottage was repainted, new flooring put in, along with new carpeting in the bedroom and walk-in closet. We did have a small issue with the AC. They stayed on top of it until it was fixed. They are very quick to respond if you have an issue or question and are always happy to help you. Both my husband and I would recommend Southwick Village to anyone looking for a retirement community. It definitely feels like home! We love it here! Annie and Jeff P.

My Mom was alone and the community embraced her. She now goes to exercise classes every day, enjoys the entertainment and all of the activities. She will tell us it is the best move she made

We looked at Southwick Village and it was nice. It was very welcoming and it had a nice set of activities. The cottages were nicely laid out and were private, it's just a nice place. The staff who took me around on the tour was very personable, knowledgeable, and nice. They offered me meals but I turned them down. The appliances come with the room, and they replace them if they go bad. It comes with a refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, and washer and dryer.
