The care I received was more than excellent: it was consistently attentive and personable—even affectionate—with all the patients. The kind of nurses and therapists one will remember forever.

I felt that Mt Greylock Extended Care was very cluttered and it wasn't very clean. The director took us into the rehab wing, but he would not take us into the long-term care part of it. I had a personal experience with my uncle who went there for rehab after major surgery, and he did not like it at all. He said the response time for calls was really bad. There was no response to the call bell, it took forever. And I found that the director was not forthcoming with some of my questions, which made me a little uncomfortable. They need more staff and they need to clean up the facility a bit. He was there for physical therapy and he got very little of that while he was there. He got more PT when he came home and he had people coming in. They were supposed to be coming in two or three times a day to do therapy on him, and he said that the first two days he didn't even see anyone. So he wasn't too happy about that. They had a salon, a physical therapy room, they had activities, they had outside seating if you want to go outside. But it was all just sort of grim. It's right next to the hospital and it's pretty much downtown, so it's in a convenient location.

Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility has some very lovely people there. They've been very pleasant, they've been helpful and patient, so that's important. Because of COVID restrictions we're not allowed in, but outside it's beautiful. It's private and aesthetically pleasing. From what we've assessed, the value for the money seems good.

I have a spouse at Mount Greylock and find the overall care very good. There is another review with someone complaing about too much security because there is a code to go in and out. It is a simple code and is done to prevent patients who might have dementia from wandering out on their own. It's pretty standard practice. Someone else mentioned patients sitting in hallways in wheel chairs, but again, this gets them out of their rooms and under close supervision of the nursing staff. No one wants to be in a nursing home, but this is one of the better ones.

My friend had a 2 week stay. Food was not great and portions are small. Rehab was good. Rooms are small and not cleaned up as often as they should be. Nice looking building, plenty of free parking, over the top way too much security with secret codes for entering and exiting, Meds not well managed. Bed are poor quality and old. Not great overall.

My mom-in-law needs to be in a nursing home because she has diabetes and she cannot regulate her medications at home. She is at Mt. Greylock Extended Care. The staff have been very nice to her, but it’s just very depressing compared to an assisted living area, to walk down the hall to see these people hanging out in wheelchairs.
