My wife and I are both in an assisted living accommodation at The Falls at Cordingly Dam. She's on the fourth floor and I'm on the first floor. I'm looking for an independent living accommodation because it is not good for me to be in an assisted living accommodation. She's fine here, but this is not the place for me. There's no activity for me here. We've been here for two months. I'm not happy here, but my wife is here. This is great for her, but not so good for me mentally and/or physically. I think the staff is superior. The accommodations are very nice for the assisted living. They have programs during the day, but everything requires assisted living and I do not need assistance in living. Their activities are for those who need assistance rather than for independent individuals. The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. The heating and air-conditioning is very adequate. There's nothing wrong with the accommodations at all. There's nothing wrong with the programs at all for the assisted living residents that are here. There's nothing wrong with the facility at all. I'm very pleased with the activity here for them. The food is great. They do a great job. I have a two-room apartment, fundamentally. It's very small and it's $10,800 a month.

The staff at The Falls Cordingly Dam is great. They're friendly, nice, and competent. They have three meals a day, and that's in the afternoon, and the food seems to be very good. From what I've seen, it looks like it's excellent. The place is in excellent condition, and I think it's very comfortable with the facilities. I think they do a good job maintaining it, and I think that's a strength that they have. They have activities going all of the time. My wife is in a memory care unit, and they have people on the staff singing. They have some television where they play a movie like, "My Fair Lady," and they have a fellow who used to come in and play things with somebody, but he does it through the television. So just a lot of activities going on every time I go over there. My wife moved in. I think it's absolutely worth it. I think they do a great job. I'm more than happy to pay. I had kept her at home for a while, and it didn't cost any more to have the professional help there than I made at home. So I think it's an excellent value.

We went to The Falls at Cordingly Dam. We looked at both assisted living and memory care. It was beautiful, it felt like home, and it was a very warm place. All the nursing staff reached out and were friendly. They had a long tenure with most of their employees. It felt like a community and it was lovely. The guy who toured us was wonderful, too. The staff seemed caring and professional, and there were many of them there. The facility was pretty new, and it was placed on the property right against The Charles River, so it was very picturesque, and many of the rooms looked at the river. It was so tidy, neat, and clean, and polished, and even the function rooms were well organized.

The Falls at Cordingly Dam were great, but it wasn't so good at the end. They need to improve on their communication. It was the middle of the month when I asked if they could admit my mother, and because of unexpected delays she ended up going there two weeks later before she passed away. They charged us a one month resident fee and another month that was a last month fee. We were willing to pay two months rent even though she only stayed there for less than two week, but instead of just counting those two months, they also counted the 15 days of delay because they had to hold the room for us and that wasn't revealed to us in the beginning. If it were, we would probably not have chosen them. They should have told us upfront that once they hold the room, we'll be charged from that day on, even though my mother wasn't physically there. I said that it was wrong and the manager decided to just forgive us for those two weeks of holding the room. They treated her well. It was a good facility and it was clean. The staff was very nice and they had a lot of activities. If it wasn't for that last minute money problem, I would have strongly recommended it.

I had visited The Falls. It was well kept-up. It was well maintained and a nice facility. I met the marketing people. They were very helpful and very thorough. They had card games, arts, and guest speakers. They were in a nice location. However, it was pretty expensive there.

I went and visited The Falls at Cordingly Dam. That's the place I like for my parents. Basically what I like about it was if somebody is not totally like needing memory care, they have an assisted living area where they would take people in through the day. It's called The Lighthouse Club. It's for people who don't necessarily need memory care. It's a good program because they keep them busy during the day and then they go back and can be in the assisted living area. I thought that is a unique thing. They also showed me their apartments and they were very nice. The dining room was beautiful too. The staff was kind and friendly. They were just lovely people. They did have activities for their residents like cooking, art work, etc.

I have found a place for my husband. He moved in The Falls at Cordingly Dam two weeks ago. One of the reasons why I chose this for him was because it was close enough for me so that I could visit him everyday. I'm an old lady and so I don't want to drive great distances and this place is exactly 5 miles door to door. The other thing is that it is an assisted living facility but they do have a floor for memory care people. It is a big facility but it only has one floor that has 28 beds for people with memory problems. It is a locked floor and you have to have a key to get there. This facility has a real atmosphere of caring. It looks to me that people there are really and truly caring for these old folks who have lost their memory. The other thing that is very important to me is that, as my husband decline which is very sad, he can stay there to the very end. I don't have to move him again. The staff has also been very concerned about me because I'm very worried and fussy over everything about my husband, but they all constantly would reassure me that he is doing okay even though I think he is very, very limited in what he can do. They did have a lot of excellent programs there but sadly my husband probably will not be able to participate in them. As a whole, I'm satisfied with this place.

I never dreamed I would feel my mother so "held" by all of the staff at The Falls. Every request we make is filled immediately and cheerfully, I have such peace of mind that your staff checks in on my mother during the night, and when something happens, they alert me immediately. I know how much organizations take on the character of their leadership, and I am tremendously appreciative for the high bar you set for standard of care and responsiveness. That my mother adjusted so quickly and is so happy is such a tribute to The Falls Staff.

Care is minimal, amenities lacking, food pretty awful, and it is very expensive! We have to provide our own care givers for our resident family member at great additional expense. The chief problem as I see it is the conflict between the commitment to helping residents and the need to make a profit. I would recommend that anyone seeking this kind of care, i.e. assisted living, seek out a non-profit facility.
