My mother moved into Lakeside at Mallard Landing. It is very beautiful, very clean, and the staff is very helpful and compassionate. I have not tried the food, but the setting and the options are great. They have a beauty salon, a church, daily activities like bingo, happy hour, movie night, and games, and a little bistro that they can always go down to and get juice, for example. It's very nice; I feel that it's the best one that I reviewed in Maryland.

We will be moving Dad to Lakeside at Mallard Landing because of the location. It is physically close to my brother's house, so that made it a little more convenient for him. The facility itself was actually larger as far as the public spaces were concerned, with a larger courtyard. Everything I could see in the memory care was nicely maintained and nicely run. The rooms were comparable, and then later on I found out that they have things in place to work with the hospice care, and that made it a matter of fact, an icing on the cake. The staff was friendly and very informative. The lady that I talked to, the coordinator, was very much trying to work with me to make sure that they were going to be what I needed.

Lakeside At Mallard Landing was very friendly, active, and inviting. There was a lot of movement around. The rooms seemed to be well kept and were a decent size. The dining facility appeared like everybody was enjoying it. It was a friendly environment, like a restaurant type. The staff who assisted me was very accommodating and helpful. We had a slight miscommunication on the scheduling, but she was able to make as much time as possible. She offered to schedule for me to go back if necessary, but we decided that now is not the time for my mom. I didn't really observe too many activities because I wasn't able to go around the facility due to the conflict in scheduling. I saw the activity schedule. It looked like there was a variety of activities that would keep residents active and social.

We visited Lakeside at Mallard Landing. We talked with them about both assisted living and independent living, and it was very positive. I liked the level of attention. We felt they gave very good personal attention. I liked the activities that they had involved in their facility, the trips into the community they provided, and the rooms and suites there. They have a lot of activities as well as trips into the community. They're right next door to a lake and a park. They have a salon. We saw the menus for the month and I was impressed with them, but we did not try the food.

We toured Lakeside At Mallard Landing. It was a very nice community and very personable. They were willing to assist us with whatever we needed. They actually showed us two rooms. They were very nice. You had the option that you could either rent their furniture or you can bring your own. I was checking the bathroom out because I needed it to be a walk in shower for my mother, so that they would be able to assist her. It was not a step up or anything like that. It was a very nice room and everything else. The staff was very personable. They were very willing to help out. It was very clean. They did have a hair salon. They did have a laundry room that the family could use to do laundry, or they would charge if you wanted them to do your laundry.

The Lakeside at Mallard Landing was nice. It was expensive though, so that's the big problem there. I toured their assisted living yesterday, and it was well-maintained and with pleasant people. The person who assisted me was very informative and very friendly. She took her time and did a fine job. I saw that they have a library, a salon, and a lot of social areas. The cleanliness was great too, and the dining area was nicely-arranged. I wish they could make it more affordable.

We went to see the Lakeside at Mallard Landing by Discovery Senior Living in Salisbury. We saw their independent living and it's like a resort there. It has multiple units that are all interconnected via a sort of a breezeway so that you can go from one building to another without having to go outside. I thought that was a plus. They have several dining facilities and they are multi-level. It's very scenic, they're in an area that runs parallel to a pond with lots of trees so it's very appealing. It is sort of analogous to a resort type of environment. It's very well-maintained and professionally run. It had all the bells and whistles but it just was not the type of housing that my mother prefers.

Lakeside At Mallard Landing had everything we wanted. The rooms were very roomy. They had meals for noon and dinner from Monday through Friday and weekends at noon. They had trips, they had available transportation for a fee, and they had housekeeping for a fee. They had a gym, a pub that they pay for, and a game room.

The people at Lakeside at Mallard Landing were very kind and very helpful. It's a bit costly, but it's a wonderful facility. I toured both the memory care and the assisted living. They had several different floor plans, and the rooms were very nice. They had a nice activity calendar. The dining area was very nice, and they had snacks and popcorn machine available. It's a phenomenal place.

We were very impressed with Lakeside at Mallard Landing. It looked to be just wonderful and we interviewed a few people who lived there, and who were very happy to be there. The dining area looked delightful, was beautifully arranged, and implemented. The menus looked great, and nobody complained about the food. The staff was very accommodating and patient with us. Everybody was very pleasant. What impressed me is that everybody seemed to be very happy there. The appearance was very elegant.

Lakeside at Mallard Landing looks beautiful, and the staff is overwhelmingly nice, supportive, and helpful. The residents themselves are delightful. I like that place so much that I would live there myself if I could. It's more like living in a fancy hotel, it's just so nice. It's a very large community and they have independent living homes, independent living apartments, and they have assisted living buildings with apartments. The apartments are all little efficiency units and they're all very well-designed. They don't have any clinical feel at all. When you go in into the building they have really nice staff. And they have everything you could want, they have a library, a movie room, and places for the residents to sit and do things together and socialize. They also have a chapel, a hair salon, and it's really friendly. When I walk in the door I saw half a dozen gentleman playing poker. You'd feel at home there. The staff is fantastic, every single one of them. The food looks really good, they have a chef that prepares the food, and you get to sit down and pick off a menu.

I had a family member here on the memory unit side. We live long distance and aren't able to be there often, but we had trust in this place to make sure the proper care was given, what a mistake. I would like to say how unprofessional this place is. Not only did they fail to communicate to the family when a change in condition occurred to our loved one, but the only time we DID hear from anyone was when they didn't receive payment for the month due when it was their fault for having a change in staffing causing our family to not receive monthly statements. Apparently that is the only thing this place is concerned about, getting paid. They waited several weeks to let us know that our loved one had lost 30+ pounds and was not eating, the immediate phone call to us was "we are seeking hospice treatment" As many may know that is a end of life treatment to make someone comfortable and pass peacefully... well no other update was given prior to that so of course we were taken VERY off guard!!! Our family should have been notified immediately when her weight started to decrease NOT when things were getting serious for them to then notify us. Our loved ones well being was obviously last on the list. I have never experieced anything like it.

We saw a very nice one-bedroom at Lakeside. We saw the activities room and the dining area that were done nicely. The food was typical cafeteria food. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating.

My father is in Lakeside right now. We went to see it, and he is very happy with it. It’s very nice, and he gets very well. All the staff is very helpful. They come in every morning, make his bed, change him, and wash his clothes. Once a week, they clean the apartment, and they have three meals a day.

Lakeside at Mallard Landing was very nice. The staff is really nice. Mom seems OK at that place. They have a lot of very good activities like movies and church. The dining room is very nice. Mom has a 1-bedroom with a bathroom, and it was very nice at 1,000 square feet.

My husband is in Mallard Landing. They have a separate unit for campus for the lockdown, and it’s very lavish looking. He thinks that he is at a fancy hotel. The services so far seem OK. He has had a couple of problems; right now, he is in the hospital. He plays bingo when they have it. They have other activities, games, and things that they do like horse racing. They have a lounge with a TV and with different meetings. The food is very good, it’s a beautiful atmosphere, and the price is quite pricey. They seemed to have enough staff, and it’s clean.

Mallard Landing Retirement just seemed to be too large -- building and everything -- and I think my mother with dementia would have gotten lost or confused over there. They had everything from senior living to assisted living to the Alzheimer's unit, but it was very large and I just didn't think it would be a fit. We were able to see a monthly calendar and the whole 9 yards of what activities they have going on. They have three 3 meals a day and they also have snacks in the morning and the afternoon. They were able to answer every question that I had.

I would consider moving into Lakeview in the future. I would like to give it a five star rating, but I find the place spooky clean so I'll just give it a four.

My Father was a resident in Lakeside Assisted Living. We can not say enough for the care and concern he received there. As it is with most elderly, they want to be home. My Father had been in another assisted living and was so unhappy. He adjusted very well at Lakeside, looked forward to the special attention he received from employees and interacted with some of the residents. Because of being there, we feel there was joy in his life that would not have been there. Thank you!

My mother-in-law recently moved to Lakeside Assisted Living. She naturally had some anxiety about moving to new surroundings. All the staff at Lakeside from the C.N.A.'s to the wait staff, housekeepers and receptionist were very kind and sensitive to her needs. It really helped make the transition easier on her (and us). It's wonderful that she has a beautiful apartment, in a lovely building, with lots of amenities. But it means so much more to our family to know that she is being cared for by such compassionate people.

My grandmom is very happy with Lakeside Assisted Living, which of course, means that I am satisfied with it. After visiting Lakeside and two other facilities six months ago, our family decided that the Lakeside facility perfectly suited our needs and preferences. At Lakeside, my grandmom has found the excellent balance of security and ease of access to services, and privacy and independence. My grandmom says that amenities matter much less than the residents and staff, and I agree. I found during my first and as well as subsequent visits to Lakeside that it has an active social atmosphere. The other residents are friendly and the staff is very caring and warm. The staff there always time have to speak with you, and they seem genuinely interested in the residents. They also give the utmost importance to handling emergencies. In addition, the residents all seem to enjoy interacting with each other, and my grandmom has found people she enjoys talking and sharing hobbies with.Over all, Lakeside Assisted Living feels very friendly and safe, and my grandmom is very comfortable there. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and has excellent furnishings that give a homey feel.
