I visited on March25 without appt. no suprises the facility is following all CDC protocol for, visitor entry. The lst. point of contact was polite attentive & courteous. This was a new location for my brother & it was immaculate bright, clean & smelling fresh. he looked very well clean shaved & fresh haircut. His room was very nice, his clothes were neatly placed in his highboy dresser drawers. His relocation had been planned with care as all his little trinkets were placed on his nightstand & family pic on his dresser. I can't take care for him but to know you are brought tears to my eyes as I shared my appreciation to that B2 front staff.

My dad is going to be in respite care at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. It meets his needs. It's excellent. I wouldn't place him anywhere where it isn't up to par. It's clean. It's a perfect setting. It's very well maintained. The staff who accommodated us was very knowledgeable. She has been there for a while. The dining area is clean and very well-organized. For activities, they go on field trips, they have entertainment that comes in, and they play bingo and games.

My brother is now at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. It's beautiful, very nice, and very well run. His room is very nice, the grounds are beautiful, and the facility is very organized. The staff is very nice. He is very well liked there. Before COVID, they had a lot of day programs like day trips, shopping trips, and a lot of group activities. It has been positive. He is pretty OK with the food there, he says it is good, and according to him, he is very happy with it. He is very happy there, and from what I've seen, it is very nice. It's a very beautiful facility, and the grounds are beautiful.

Charlotte Hall Veterans Home is hospital-like. It is free for veterans, and that's the appeal of it. It is very clean but definitely not homey. The rooms are just like hospital rooms. I am not impressed with that. They have a lot of activities, and they have a cafeteria for the residents. The staff members were good, and the residents seemed to get good care. The staff member who runs the place was very friendly, and she provided a lot of information.

My dad loves it at Charlotte Hall Veterans home. He tells me that staff are very respectful and actually care about him. He feels independent because he has his own room but is a part of a couple social groups/clubs. They go on trips, have events, or something going on.

I wouldn't go to Charlotte Hall. The only space they have is a 5-drawer dresser, one for the husband and one to the wife, a closet where you can put two or three outfits and a coat for the winter, and a big room. That was it, it's like a dormitory. They offer to eat lunch with them, but I didn't like the food. Even though the residents were a mixed population, I only saw one female in the assisted living and the rest are a lot of military men who sit around in wheelchairs. We saw a lady sitting over in a corner by herself. It was about an hour and a half away from home. They try to keep it nice. It's beautiful on the outside, with a flag coming up to the main entrance, but when you look around, it's a very old community. We toured on a Saturday, nobody was there except a bunch of residents milling around in their wheelchairs going to lunch. It's the only state-run place in Maryland where veterans' spouses can go.

I had a great impression of Charlotte Hall Veterans Hall. The people were very friendly, the food was great, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. They had different activities and took residents out on trips. The staff was very knowledgeable about financial aid, showed me around, and were very friendly. I watched the way they treated the patients there. They were very attentive and very respectful. I could appreciate that.

My client was a resident of Charlotte Hall when she was ill one time. She was in there for rehab. We went there last week to see what type of financing the VA would give her if she went there. She is 100% disabled, and she will get full nursing care for free. The grounds were very nice, and the inside of the building was clean. It did look more like hospital wards. Otherwise, the facility was very nice. They do have a section there for military women. We did talk to many spouses of military that were there, but she wanted something more on the civilian side and not on the military side. They had nice dining rooms.

My husband is in Charlotte Hall Veterans Home now. We chose this facility because my husband is a veteran and 100% disabled and the government pay for it 100%. Plus, other facilities wouldn't take him at any price because of the nature of his illness. In terms of service, it's quite good. They really take care of the veterans.

I chose Charlotte Hall Veterans Home for my significant other because he was a veteran and it was just a little over six miles travel from home. The personnels were good and there were always doctors and nurses when you got in. I didn't have any objection with the staff. The parking lot had good lighting and when you came in, you had to sign in the reception.

Charlotte Hall Veterans is quite far from us about more than an hour away. The place has about 40 females and 360 males. We had her there because she broke her leg, but it seems to be working. She is in a single room and now that she is indeed healing, she is being moved to a shared room and I don't know how that will work out in the long term. The staff are very nice, because it's a home for vets, everybody seems to go the extra yard. They seem to have a caring attitude for everyone. I ate there once and it seems to be okay. My mom thinks its okay, so no complaints. She seems to be content, but I think it was really the single room that made us all very accepting of it. The other thing that you may want to make a note of, even though they do specialize in dementia which is what my mom has, they really take care of all kinds of people with all kinds of needs. There communications are pretty good. They actually will call me quarterly and update me on my mom on how she is adjusting in her health. I've only had one call so far, but they all seemed to be pretty helpful. They have facility-hospital feel to it, but the grounds were nice. When I go there I enjoy sitting outside with my mom and chat with her.

The Alzheimer's wing of Charlotte Hall Veterans was nicer than a lot of the other ones I've seen. The reason we visited this place is because the veterans get a little break in terms of the price. But we immediately decided it was way too far for my partner's parents to be because nobody would ever visit them. They all live north. The grounds were nice and if you live close to it, it might be excellent.

Charlotte Hall had a nice, big facility. We did talk to some of the people that were there and they seemed satisfied. It's for veterans. We didn't really see activities, but one of the residents said that they took bus trips. They seemed to be well staffed and the place was very clean. It wasn't that we didn't like the facility, but what was detrimental to us was it's in the middle of nowhere. There's no public transportation to it and it's not even close to public transportation.

Good care and nutrition for my Dad for his 5 years of residency in the locked-down Alzheimer's Unit...However, while he was a "fall risk" in the last year of his life, it was a constant nightmare because of the lack of communication from the nurses there. The fall that finally killed him is still a mystery and getting the Death Certificate filled out properly was equally a nightmare and took over a month. The only reason our family just accepted this mysterious fall at the very end was that it was finally an end to the constant torment we all felt while he was there....
